It is going great so far. He does fantastic work. I would recommend him to friends and family members. We would consider using him again in the future. John came to our home and took a look at the property. He showed us decks from his portfolio with ideas he thought would work. But ? most importantly ? he listened to our ideas. We hired him to measure and do a plan for our deck that he stated ?Would only be done when we said the plan was done regardless of who builds the deck.? He worked with us for over a week iterating as we went back and forth with ideas. His excitement for the design phase of the project was even greater than ours which made it down right fun to work thru ideas with him. In the end we ended up with a design that perfectly met several complex requirements set by the house shape, property shape, views from inside windows and our expected uses. Many of these constraints we had not even considered til John pointed them out. We had been through three other contractors who drew up designs ? none came close to John. It is worth noting that my wife and I?s exuberance for design caused us to dream up with a deck beyond our budget. That was fine - John then worked with us to modify the plan back to be in budget. But because he knew clearly what was important to us and the requirements this scaling-back process took exactly 24hrs. He came back with a proposal and we accepted. During the demo and building phase our neighbors were not the least bit disturbed by John?s work. In fact nearly all met John, enjoyed chatting with him and would drop by to see how progress would was going quite often. We are certain that if any of our neighbors would have had an issue with noise or parking or anything they would have had no hesitation approaching him directly. To my knowledge none did. From a job site point of view John kept it very clean and from the front of the house one would have been hard pressed to tell work was going on in the back. We cannot say enough about the quality of work done. From the large deep concrete footings to the custom built bench to the cost-saving but elegant design of the curved rails. We also cannot say enough about John?s constant soliciting of our thoughts and then working them into the final touches. We honestly feel this deck is perfect because John built it with us for us. While our project was large (though no-where near his largest) we would not hesitate recommending John for projects of any size. We fully intend to have him back to work on some smaller stuff!

Finished product was great! He routers all the edges so they're smooth, and uses a combination of glue and nails. The nails he put in at an angle so you can't see any when the deck was completed. We've had nothing but rave reviews!

John started and finished on time and on budget. The deck was aesthetically designed to fit with our house. The workmanship is excellent and the appearance is very pleasing.
