It has been 3 months on 6/6, since the work was completed and they have not even sent in their reports to the DEQ. Although the office staff has been polite & the work crew seemed OK, this is too long to wait for a report.
Description of Work: Cascade took soil samples to check for leakage around our "out-of-service" oil tank. Received test results indicating we had contamination & needed further testing. Also, scheduled the soil Investigation/decommissioning by concrete slurry for March 6, 2006. Tank filled with slurry. Received bill (dated 3/15) on 3/17. Also, received phone call on 3/17 wondering when we were going to make the payment. I paid the bill of $3410.00 in full on 3/20/06. Their letter dated 3/15/06 stated that after payment, they would forward a copy of the DEQ report along with the certification to us. As of 6/2/06, we still have not received any reports. I called the office on 5/25 & received a call back on 5/26 indicating that a DEQ certificate should be coming soon - they would put ours at the top of the pile. I also called DEQ on 6/1. They returned the call on 6/2 & said they had not received anything from Cascade Environmental.

+ -1 moreThe crew who showed up to do this work was surly and irritable. They were poorly equipped. The lift on their truck didn't work. They had no hand truck with which to move the tank. They splintered the siding in the house when they cut plumbing access holes. Their oil line run was done in such a way as to make it impossible for the furnace to self-prime. The oil lines were suspended from existing electrical wiring in the house. The oil lines leaked initially (I had to fix these). After complaining to the company president he came over and took a look at the workmanship. Within two weeks, he had fixed the siding, he attached the plumbing lines to the floor joists, and he re-routed part of the oil line. He didn't have the lines re-routed enough to make the furnace able to self prime however, defeating the purpose of a two line pump and burner assembly. He was able to mitigate some of the poor workmanship after the job, but didn't fix everything to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: An in-ground oil tank was decommissioned and a new oil tank was installed above-ground in a shed. New oil lines were run from the new tank to the existing furnace. NOTE: THIS WORK WAS BEING DONE DURING THE PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE. I WAS THE PURCHASER SO THE WORK WAS DONE BY THE SELLER ON MY BEHALF. THE SELLER PAID FOR THE WORK AND I AUTHORIZED THE RELEASE OF PAYMENT WHEN THE JOB WAS COMPLETED.
