It went very well, Brett is very professional and easy to work with. He adjusted to our schedule and gave us lot of option for the layout drawings for the future bedroom and bathroom in our basement.

We selected Brett because we liked his vision and felt he would be good to work with, and this was indeed the case. Brett is a very personable, professional and imaginative architect. What makes him special is that we found him to be a good listener. He valued our ideas, heard our priorities, and incorporated them into the plans he came up with. We had to scale down our plans half way through and he was as thoughtful in coming up with a modified scheme that would meet our financial goals without loosing out aesthetically. He was timely in the production of drawings and easily accessible when we had questions. He was accurate in estimating the total cost of his work, and fair and reasonable in billing us.

He was very flexible and worked with us for many months while we tried to figure out exactly what we wanted in the plans. Always willing to rework the plans and provided a lot of good feedback on our decisions. Would definitely recommend.

Brett did an outstanding job on all phases of this project. He is very efficient, and completed all of the design tasks in a very reasonable amount of time. When issues have arisen during construction Brett has been more than willing to come out to the construction site and help us resolve the issues. I would recommend Brett for any such job, and would gladly use his services again for future projects.

Brett was outstanding in every aspect of his job. From the beginning, Brett was very responsive, and continued to be throughout the process. He listens attentively and quickly articulates your thoughts, ideas and preferences and converts them into working drawings saving you time and money. Although we had a good idea of what we wanted for design and keeping with the character of the house, Brett made several recommendations that we ultimately integrated, and they made all the difference. More and larger windows, wider doorways, and continuation of the roof line all resulted in the seamless extension of the existing structure balanced by equal scale inside and out. No matter how hard you look, you cannot distinguish old from new. Everything fits together well and is entirely functional. Brett worked closely with the engineer, and was quick to facilitate any need that arose. When I went to the city to obtain permits, they knew Brett well and had the utmost respect for his work. Permits were issued over the counter in one day without issue. I cannot emphasize enough how important to the outcome of a new-build/addition to a home or commercial structure the architect is. Brett is top tier. He responds quickly, produces high quality work, is very creative, listens well, and and has a great reputation among colleagues in the community. All of these things make him an outstanding value as an architect/designer. My wife and I recommend Brett without reservation and intend to use him again.

Brett Schultz is the architect that designed the remodel for my home and for the restaurant that I have. On both occasions he was honest and straight foward. He was able to refer to a structural engineer that was very qualified to do the work and in the appropriate time. Brett showed up right on time. He was personable and happy to field all our questions, and displayed an apparently thorough knowledge of the building codes which would affect our decisions, along with other practical considerations which would affect the realities of implementation of either plan. This was very important since we are planning to do the majority of the work ourselves and this is a larger project than we've done so far, and he tailored the information to our situation. We ended up with a personal reference, and this is the only reason we did not hire Brett.

Brett was the only person who responded to my phone call on the same day (left messages with 4 others). He came to our workplace the following day to discuss our options with rebuilding a garage. Brett was very friendly, professional, and very punctual. We had the building plans back in less than a week! Unfortunately the project required too much "BS" from the governing authorities, so it was scrapped. I would definitely use this person again in the future

We hired Brett on a builder?s recommendation and upon realizing that he was the architect for a condo development that we have always admired. We live in a 1916 craftsman bungalow and needed help in planning our upcoming remodel. Brett was great to work with and found creative solutions that incorporated our 2 key remodeling goals ? add a bath while keeping within the existing roofline upstairs and remove the odd space issues that previous remodels had created downstairs. He proposed numerous options and included furniture placement to make the spaces livable. Brett delivered great plans that kept the integrity of the house. He delivered the plans on time and within the budget we discuss. We really liked the kitchen layout and efficient use of space for a closet remodel. Brett also provided solid advice on the order that we should do the project. Unfortunately we have not found the budget to hire out remodel. That said, having the plans has really helped us align upon a long-term vision and our do it yourself projects until we are ready to realize the complete long-term plan that Brett helped us form.

We had decided to proceed with a complete basement remodel we had been considering for some time. We met with a general contractor we liked and he recommended we retain the services of an architect to create some different floor plans options for us to consider. Brett came out on short notice. He agreed without complaint to come out in the evening to accommodate our work schedules. Brett was very friendly and personable. He spent about 45 minutes taking a look at the basement and answering our questions. He left and to our surprise and delight had a bid to us later that evening. His bid was the best we received and we were happy to hire him for the job. Brett returned several days later and spent several hours in the basement, painstakingly taking measurements. Within days we had a couple of floorplans. It was great to be able to start visualizing what the final product would look like. Brett was very responsive to changes we suggested. At our request he gave us two additional floorplan options to look at and when we exceeded the number of working hours we had originally agreed on he charged us a very reasonable amount for the extra work. During the whole process Brett was great about returning our emails and calls promptly. In the end we ended up with a great finished floorplan and were very happy with Brett's work.

We're not going to continue with the deck because it is a second priority right now. He came and he was really nice. He came on a Saturday or Sunday morning, which was very nice. He was here on time. He was supposed to be here at 9 am and he was here 5 minutes early. He took some measurements and we discussed the options. He seemed to be very knowledgeable. It was pretty much what we expected. We told him what our vision was and the current situation of the house. He gave us some good options and then he went back to the office and gave us a more detailed quote. That was pretty much as far as we went with it. He didn't charge us for coming out. The rates he wanted was a little expensive, but in terms of service he was very good. He was here at 9 am and by noontime we had a quote. The reason why we were disappointed was because it really involved a lot of high money. We felt it was a little too much for us. We felt that he wasn't particularly expensive in comparison to the others, but that pushed us to put the deck to a second priority and do the landscaping ourselves because we couldn't go with any vendors like this. He was talking about thousands and thousands of dollars.

They were great. I even sent them a thank you card. We didn't end up using anybody for that project.

This was a large project and Brett Schulz and his time were there from the beginning to the end. The results were a tribute to the home, the property and to the community.

We are extremely happy with the work he did. Initially the bathroom was a very small space and he turned it into a full master bath. He also re-designed a pitched roof that was too complicated for the contractors to do on their own. Everything looks great and I would highly recommend him.
