 + -1 moreBombadil Construction was the contractor when our house was built according to the architect's specifications and plans. Unpressure-treated beams (not available in 1989) and design of the stairway and ramp decking without enough air circulation led to a lot of rotting. Jim York came up with innovative solutions to all of the problems and at a reasonable cost. Despite bad weather, he worked on the project steadily and consistently until completion. The job site was always tidy when he left, and he was very conscientious about potential safety problems during construction. He was very careful to always consult with us when there were decisions that involved design issues. He communicates very well with clients and is patient and responsive.
Description of Work: Tore out a 20' x 20' wooden ramp leading to garage, plus stairway, and half walls on either side of ramp. There was serious rot in much of the structure. They replaced the beams under the ramp and installed new decking and stairs. They reconstructed walls, reusing existing cedar lap siding and trim boards where possible.
