gutter cleaning
+ -1 moreProblem is that now the water seeps over the mesh as it seems that the tighter mesh prevents adequate water drainage into the gutter. Overflow causing damage to garage door, possibly elsewhere also. Left message on 12/15/10 and again on 1/21/11 - no response. Time to call in the muscle?
Description of Work: Removed old plastic mesh screens from gutters. Cleaned out messy gutters and downpipes; applied moss retardent; replaced gutter screens with tighter, smaller and sturdier screens. Screen has 6 or 8 years warranty.

+ 0 moreThe original phone discussion with Allen Belcher included an estimate that my wife and I thought was outrageously high ($209.00) for a simple cleaning of the gutters. Mr. Belcher indicated that his company was thoroughly experienced in all kinds of gutter maintenance and that the firm was licensed, bonded, and insured. He invited me to check the Oregon Construction Contractor Board for his listing. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/thomasslavin/belcher_card.jpg]Mr. Belcher indicated that the work would include a remedy to the inadequate downslope problem, once his workman had done an assessment of the practical aspects of resetting the anchor spikes to create a 2% slope. When his workman indicated that no significant improvement could be made to address the problem, I responded that we would "pass" and sent him away. Mr. Belcher then phoned me and threatened to take me to court for the amount he had mentioned in the estimate even though no actual work had been performed. A check of his listing with the Oregon Construction Contractor Board revealed that he had no license and had never been actually licensed. Description of Work: No services were performed other than the workman did an assessment of how badly the gutters were filled with debris. The assessment also included an evaluation of what steps could (or couldn't) be taken to adjust the down-slope of the gutters to allow them to drain properly. The workman reported that an inadequate number of downspouts had been installed originally. Only minor adjustments could be made by reseting a couple of anchor spikes, but that would not significantly improve the ability of the system to drain properly
