+ -1 moreI contacted Bamboo Grove to come bid on replacing our deck, which is falling apart. Joe showed up at my house at the agreed upon time, took measurements, and said he'd have a quote ready for me the following Monday. I waited a few extra days, then on Wednesday reached out via email to see if he had a chance to put together the quote, and never got a response. That was over a month ago. Our deck is fairly small, so I assume that it's just not a big enough project for him, but any communication would have been nice.

+ 1 moreJoe was professional, personable, responsive and fair. His crew was friendly, respectful, tidy, hard-working and always on time. The bid and contract process was simple, straight-forward and clear, and my husband and I felt like we were given a fair price for the work we needed. We will absolutely use Bamboo Grove again, and highly recommend Joe and his crew without reservation.
Description of Work: We are so pleased with Bamboo Grove's work! We came to them with two projects...one was a rebuild of a 3' failing retaining wall and the other was a "special circumstance" with an existing horizontal stainless steel cable fence. The retaining wall included demo and excavation of the existing wall, and installation of a concrete footer, french drain and geo-textile. The work was done quickly, and the crew was friendly and respectful and kept the work areas clean and tidy each day they were here! The second job was to create a solution for our custom stainless steel fence that we had built when we moved into our house to contain our dog in the yard...only to find out that the fence was no match for Laddie! So...Joe Vacarella (the owner of Bamboo Grove) was willing to design a custom solution that added security to the fencing without compromising the aesthetics of the original design. It was a bit of trial and error, and we appreciated Joe's willingness to meet the challenge. Laddie can now roam free without being tethered to a leash in his yard!

Description of Work: They removed a three foot square patch of bamboo that was invading the neighbors yard. Came when they said they would, did what they said they would do. It was a bigger job than I expected. It seemed expensive, on the other hand, for what they did, the price was reasonable.

Description of Work: I made an appointment to have Joe come out and give me an estimate for trimming my bamboo and preventing my bamboo from spreading. I had email confirmation of an appointment at 6pm on June 23rd, 2014.

+ 0 moreI would probably do some more work with him again. I heard that he was good with bamboos and our bamboo was running across our yard so I had him do the work. On a scale of 1 to 10, he would be a 9 for his responsiveness. He emails really quickly. He was responsive enough for us. We were happy with him. His demeanor was very good. His pricing seemed kind of expensive but I do not know how to compare it. He was really communicative. So, if he was going to be late, he would let me know. He has got a really good casual personality but he is professional.
Description of Work: I used Joe Vacarella of Bamboo Grove Landscapes just recently for removing an old bamboo in the yard and repotting and putting a new bamboo back in a better way. He has also given me a quote for $300 to come and do something to some other bamboos that I have.

+ -1 more1.29 to 1.30. I've used them before, so this is not the first time that I've used them. There wasn't anything bad about what they did. They did a good job. They cleaned up everywhere that I wanted it cleaned up. I think the guy that came out, his name was Joe. He was a very nice guy. He was reliable and he showed up on time. He did exactly what he was here to do and stuck to his pride. I think he actually 2.38 to 2.40. The quality of work was good. They called me back right away all the time. I plan to use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Bamboo Grove Landscapes for a general yard clean up.

+ -1 moreJoe had the best "vibe" from the four bids I received; his was tied for the lowest. He is professional (name on the shirt is nice touch) and non-pushy. He answered emails in a very timely manner and also offered suggestions. The guy who worked with him was very pleasant.

I was in a bit of a time constraint to get several cubic yards of dirt and debris removed from our patio and get it pressure washed in time for my husband's birthday. He was able to come out within 24 hours to bid on my project and was able to perform the work the following day. He's very professional - he arrived on time and with a smile. He has such a pleasant demeanor - friendly, up beat and down to earth. The job ended up being more work than he had originally estimated but he asked for only a minimal amount more to cover extra dumping fees. I knew that his initial quote was a little on mid-low slide, so I didn't feel put out paying the extra dumping fees. In fact, I was so pleased with his service (he was so pleasant to work with and went above my expectations) that I ended up paying him more than he asked for. I'm also having him back out to bid on some other projects I need done, including putting in gravel pathways.
Description of Work: Hauled large pile (several cubic yards) of dirt and debris from yard, pressure washed 300sf patio and driveway after dirt removal.
