We hired B&H Electric for the electrical portion of a remodel starting in August of 2016. Problems started appearing immediately, when their lead failed to show for initial meetings for bids. Subsequently, assuming they'd be more timely once the project was under way, we ran into repeated delays and failures to properly schedule, which resulted with our being without heat from mid-September until November 1st, mostly because of their inability to drop lines for the new furnace. Subsequently, it took some significant tooth-pulling to get them in for a service change and other work. When they did, the electrician on site drilled multiple times through a glulam beam, forcing us to go back to the structural engineer to ensure it wasn't compromised. Finally, when it came time for them to try to repair a light fixture that had stopped working, and to begin finaling the electrical, they repeatedly failed to show. Through this all, they were slow to respond to calls or texts, and made constant excuses for their inability to get on site to complete the task in question. I would've been fine with their scheduling a little bit further out if it meant they were reliable, but they never were. We ended up having to fire them and bring on other electricians to complete their work.
Description of Work: We needed an upgraded service, lines for a heat pump and exterior unit, and a variety of fixtures, switches, and outlets through most of the house.

Mike Baldwin, owner of Band H Electric incorrectly wired a subpanel at my home on 7-16-12 resulting in 220 volts in a 110 outlet. I plugged in my new shop vacuum and it was ruined. I contacted Mike several times and each time he promised he would reimburse me for the $79 vacuum. It never happened. He does not back up his work.
Description of Work: Installed subpanel and outlet

B and H was a subcontractor in a remodeling project in my home by Woodcraft Interiors. The work was done on time and according to specifications. The cost was $378 over the estimate by Woodcraft but overall the project came in below Woodcraft's estimate. I've asked B and H to return to do a small job unrelated to the remodeling.
Description of Work: Excellent.

I really liked Mike and his partner (whose name totally escapes me right now). They were really nice guys and seemed to be hard workers. They did great work rewiring our old house. They were out many times over a period of months as they wired different portions of the house. Also, when a wire was drilled by the insulation guys, Band H ran a new wire. And when our internet was constantly being interrupted by the remodel, they ran a new wire for that too. I don't know if all these extras cost more money, but it was nice to have such a responsive electrician willing to do the extra work to help us be comfortable during our difficult remodel. We're about to remodel our garage and we'll definitely be hiring them again.
Description of Work: I have to honestly say, I do not know how much we paid B&H Electric because we did not directly pay their bill. B&H was hired by our General Contractor who we hired to do a very large house remodel. We surely paid B&H in excess of $20K, but we do not know the total. B&H almost totally rewired our 1912 Craftsman, replacing all the knob and tube, and running new wiring throughout the house. They installed all new reproduction light fixtures throughout much of the house and fished wires throughout the house to make dead outlets work. They also fished wires back into our box beams so we could install lighting on them again. They ran new conduit and wires out to the garage and added a second fuse box.

This person spent almost an hour at my home going over what I wanted to have done (new lighting fixtures, new outlets, etc.). We agreed I'd email him my list prioritized and he's send me a quote. I never heard back from him. Emailed twice, called several times, no response at all. Just blew me off completely.
Description of Work: Came by to do estimate.

The company did a professional job wiring the heat pump to our breaker box. We were however disapointed in the effort that was taken to get the work inspected even though they did fine taking out a permit for the work.We ended up having to get the work inspected ourselves despite reminding them after about a month of waiting.
Description of Work: Wire a new heat pump where none previously existed.

I have used them intermittently over the last three years. He showed me what to do to be cost effective, which he didn't have to do. He gives advice free of charge if I can do it myself.
Description of Work: B&H Electric did some electrical work for me. He wired my garage and porch and put in some motion sensor lights for me. He has done some electrical repair as well.

It went very well. It all went very smoothly. It started with them arriving on time and staying task with the job they were performing. They explained the work to me so I knew what they were doing. There was an small issue with the clean up of one area and when they realized they had not cleaned that area up, they apologized.
Description of Work: They did a an upgrade to our electrical service from 100 amp to 200 amp. He did numerous smaller electrical jobs.
