I was very happy to find Avos-Inc. could complete the whole project using their ingenuity. Another fence company could have done the fence section but said they could not do the brick post portion. Avos removed the fence sections attached to the brick pillar. They built a new 8' fence section and reinstalled the two fence sections. They used 3 men-power and crane or jack equipment to lift the column up to remoter the grout at bottle and top of split. I appreciated that Avos was able to remove the brick pillar without it breaking, as that saved me money since I didn't have to have a new brick pillar built. The new fence section has a durable powder coat finish and looks very professional. Thanks for getting yet another home maintenance project off my list. Kudos to my neighbor who cut down the tree on his property that was creating the problem. Also, Avos coordinated very well with my neighbor on the timing of the fence work and the tree removal done by the Tolleson Family Tree Care of Washougal, WA.

I needed hand railings in and out of my new home. I contacted Avos and they scheduled me for bid right away. Once contracted they were timely in fabricating our railings. Finally my husband who is handicapped can get in and out of the house. The representatives and workers were all very professional and efficient. I needed bars added to my shower and the helped me out with those too. I will be calling when ready for fencing. Great to work with.

If you want to pay 3x the going rate (4 bids) hire these people. The subtle put downs in the correspondence about how high end the work they do is compared to what you will pay for. I would not hire them because of the high price, and the estimators attitude. Their response will be the same as the other poor review I'm sure. Try Railpro Angelo's.

Please disregard this complaint. We have checked our records using "[Member Name Removed] and the address listed above and found no records what so ever regarding an estimate for this person. Our estimators are not rude and are here to provide competitive deals based on quality and friendship. Anybody who goes to other peoples company profiles and "Recommends" other companies obviously seems like a spammer who is here to tarnish business. Thanks.

As of now my gates are both back in working order, opening and closing properly. A weld on one gate hinge had completely broken apart. I think Avos, Inc. was very busy with other jobs, which I came to understand. I was very willing to wait for the service, as I had one gate propped up so further damage to the gate would be minimized until the repair could be made. However, I wasn't always notified that Avos would not show up when we had set the date, which meant a few extra calls by me to reset the appointment date. July 8 was my first contact with Avos, and service was performed on Sept 17. After all is said and done, I am so glad to have my gates working, and I found the crew that came to be very professional. And, I am not sure there are very many providers who perform this service. So, I will definitely call Avos the next time I need a repair. I have a wrought iron fence around my back yard, and I am trying to keep it in good repair.
Description of Work: Repaired two wrought iron gates. Took off old hinges and replaced with new hinges on one gate. Aligned the gates so that they open and close easily on two gates.

We had several sections of wrought iron railing on a two-tiered deck that needed re-furbishing. One section of upper deck railing was a single corner piece with each section 8 feet long. This was too big to remove easily. We had Avos separate this piece into two sections and weld some additional fastener brackets. They also did some minor re-fabrication of the railing on the deck stairs to fit this after the deck had been re-built. Avos did the initial fabrication on-site and then removed all the railing for final fabrication and powder coating. They re-installed the upper deck railing, ensuring a water-tight seal with the waterproof deck surface. We were very happy with their work. The quality was very good and Surge Sova and his crew were all great to deal with. Highly recommended.

The owner returned my call promptly and provided ideas on how we could perform the work in a reasonable fashion. I will use him if this project goes forward in the future.

Dear [member name removed], We just provided you with a quote that is all. We did not perform any work for you. Please correct that in your review. Estimates are FREE of charge and just because we did not meet your budget for your desire gate design we feel like you should have never left us a negative feedback. You did not hire us to give you an estimate, you simply just asked for one. You want a hand crafted top notch gate for a fraction of a price, we cannot meet your demand because the budget is too low so that's why we never bother to give you a second estimate. Estimates are free of charge to a certain point (basic info, basic sketch, shop drawings excluded) no need to give us a "D grade" just because we are unable to work with each other. Thank you for giving us a try though and I'm sorry we could not make your gate deal work but we are not willing to take "short cuts" in our product and risk tarnishing our brand name. Have a bless day! :)

One of our antique cast iron andirons broke when my husband tossed a heavy log onto a burning fire. I was a little perplexed how to have it fixed, New ones seemed expensive (anywhere from 150-300$) and much less nice. AVOS came up when I searched for 'blacksmith' on Angie's List. I called first and Serge was very helpful, suggested I send a photo of my broken andiron. I did, he emailed me back right away with an estimate. If he fixed it at our home, it would cost 75$, if I brought it to him (the shop is in Vancouver, but less than 1/2's drive away.) We scheduled an appointment at the shop, he had the andiron welded back together in less than 10 minutes. I am happy to have solved this problem, so quickly and efficiently!
Description of Work: Welded together a broken andiron and fixed the sweeper belonging to the matching set of fireplace tools.

Surge Sova responded to my telephone message and agreed to come out on Memorial Day morning to evaluate the job. He arrived early and did a good job of explaining the various options, and the price ranges involved.1. Replace the railing with a new railing could be done but there was a risk that the concrete where the old bolts attached the railing would be seriously damaged. In addition, new railings would be built to a set of design requirements and would not match the other railing.2 Remove the railing and repair it at the shop. Surge was confident that the railing could be restored to like new condition in the shop. The possibility of concrete damage remained.3. Repair in place using welding equipment mounted on a truck. The equipment had the capability of heating more than one bent rail at a time, making it easier to realign the rails. The third option was chosen and the repairs completed later that week. We were pleased with the job and the knowledge that Surge provided. See attached photos.
Description of Work: A wrought iron stair railing had been bumbed by a truck and some of the iron rails were severely bent. On the other porch railing a loose picket was detached at one end. The bent rails were straightened so that the restored railing had no detectable damage. The loose picket was welded and both railings were repinted.

Rails surrounding the circular stairway were removed. The handrail was salvaged, but the rest of it was redesigned by Avos Inc. They solicited and were very open to our input along every step of the process so that the end product exceeded our expectations. This company was wonderful to work with and are totally focused on what their customers want. They are polite, hardworking and punctual. Their work quality is excellent. I would hire them again and will recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Redesigned and replaced railing to existing circular stairway with a gate to stairway entrance. New railing is very attractive, provides a barrier to our grandchildren injuring themselves on the stairs and is in compliance with current building code.

They finished by the date they had promised. The work they did was good. I was glad they did it because they found more defects that the other company had made. They did not try to raise the price.
Description of Work: They fabricated wrought iron railings to replace defective railings made by another company. They repaired wrought iron railings damaged by another company. They coated these railings appropriately. They fabricated some wooden spacers to replace defective spacers made by another company. These were all for the decks attached to my home.
