I went to the Autobella Northwest location on 8/27 to buy a gift certificate for my wife to have her car detailed. I arrived about 12:10 pm, and found no one in the reception area to wait on me. After a few minutes, an employee (obviously a detailer) entered the room, said "hi", and stood there. Realizing that would be the extent of his greeting, I explained to him what I was there for, and his mumbled response was that his manager was not there, that he himself could not help me, and he stood there. Again I had to take the initiative and ask him what time the manager would be back. He stated "in about 20 minutes". During this time I had noticed a sign on the counter informing that the only permissible methods of payment would be CASH or CHECK, and my ?service? person verified (without apology) that neither credit nor debit cards would be accepted. That seemed a little strange given that the cost of the detail package would be about $225, but I told the guy I would go find an ATM and come back later. I came back about 1PM, cash in hand, and once again entered an empty reception area. Again after a few minutes, the same worker came in, looked as if he?d never seen me before, uttered the predictable ?hi?, and stood there with a blank expression. I re-stated my reason for being there, and he re-stated that his manager was out, and he would not be able to help me. I in turn asked the obvious question ?what time will he be back??, and was told ?I don?t know?. However this time, sensing my irritation, his customer service skills suddenly sprang forth, and he offered to make a phone call to find out when the manager would be back. While he was in the process of doing that, another customer came in to pick up his Lexus which had been previously detailed, and when he pulled out a credit card, my man (still trying to make the phone call) pointed to the sign on the counter. The customer asked where he could get cash, and was told, with a general directional gesture, ?there?s a 7-11 over there?. The customer expressed his unhappy opinion, and walked out to get cash. I don?t know how his detail job turned out, but I doubt he?ll be posting a positive review anytime soon. Anyway at this point I was told that the manager was not answering his phone, so I told the employee ?if your manager ever does answer the phone, please tell him that he has just lost my business?, and I left. Again he acted like he couldn?t care less. I then proceeded to find a reputable detailer who could help me, and was soon successful. In my conversation with him, I told him about my prior experience, and he was completely not surprised. He was well aware that Autobella didn?t take plastic, and it was his opinion that banks refuse to offer Autobella credit card services because of a history of excessive charge-backs. For the life of me, I don?t understand how Autobella has so many positive reviews on Angie?s list.

I had a couple of scratches and a dent in my car. I got estimates from 2 auto body shops for $1500 and $1600. With a $1000 deductible I decided to try paintless dent removal. Autobella was great, very friendly staff and my car looks great. The reason for the C for punctuality was because they originally said the car would be ready on a Tuesday, then Weds. at 11 AM, then Weds. at 3 PM, then back to 11 AM. When I went to pick it up it wasn't ready. But: the work they did was great so I can forgive the pick up aggravation, and they saved me a lot of bucks.

Googled for (mold in car) help. Then I checked their reviews on Angie's list. Called and got right in. $225.00 seemed steep but I'm allergic to mold so it was better than death. Picked up the car the next day. The car wasn't this clean when I drove it off the showroom floor. I mean spotless. They were such nice people. They did such a wonderful job. I wish i could go back once a month. They were divine. I can not recommend them high enough. Do not hesitate to use them. The owner is Tim I think. He's great and the lady in the office is Linda. She is fabulous. Raves, raves, raves. Thank you everyone!!!!

The windows were not cleaned (or even wiped) at all. The floor was vacuumed, but they did not vacuum the middle console, the door panels/pockets or the seats. Some interior surfaces were wiped down, but not all. None of the upholstery was cleaned. When I got my car back it looked like someone had vacuumed the floors, and that was about it. I took a damp rag and was able to wipe some on the smudges on the upholstery (so I know it was not stained). I emailed Autobella and sent pictures of some of the items that were unacceptable. They agreed and said they would do the detail again for me, for free. I took my car in (again) to have the interior detail. Basically they wiped out the places that I sent pictures of, and that was all I could tell was done.
Description of Work: What they call a "Full interior auto detailing". There is no description on their website as to what all is covered. My expectation was: Washing the interior windows Vacuuming the seats and floor Cleaning/whiping all interior surfaces Spot cleaning the upholstery

I bought a Groupon for a big discount on Autobella's regular detail price. Regular price was around $325. I scheduled the appoint a couple of months in advance due to their busy schedule. I am very pleased with their work as the Sienna looked almost brand new when I picked it up. Grungy carpet looked as if it were in showroom condition and all the usual places that debris, algae and plant matter hide in the cracks and crannys of the car's body were spotless. Next time I need a detail, I won't mind paying full price because Autobella's service is well worth the cost.

My car had a leak in the sunroof. I hadn't driven my car in over a month and didn't know about the leak. When I opened the car door, there was mold growing all over the side door. It smelled horrible and looked horrible. I took it to autobella to have it detailed. The guy quoted me on the phone. I warned him how dirty it was and he said it would be the same price. I dropped off the car, it was ready when promised. It looked like a new car. I've had my car detailed at other shops before, but had never been as satisfied with the results. I don't know what they did, but they even managed to get rid of the bad smell too. I was also pleased that they did still only charge me the price they quoted on the phone. They are not the cheapest auto detailing place, but unlike when I've taken my car in to other places, I feel like I got my money's worth.

detailing the exterior and interior of the car and, although a bit pricey, the work done was excellent.
Description of Work: Autobella provided paint scratch and touchup services on a 2007 Camry, including a large scratch on a bumper and minor scratches elsewhere. I arranged for specific date to come in, but that was changed to another day since Tom's tint guy was busy. No big deal. I dropped off the car to be tinted and when I returned, I immediately saw that the tint guy had left drip marks down the sides of my car doors, smudge marks around the windows, and a bubble on the back window. This from a detail shop! I had asked for 20% tint to be put on and as I drove around the first day after being completed, I realized this tint was much darker. I took the car back and at first Tom said it WAS 20% but then realized it was 5%. Both 20 and 5 are illegal, but 5% is like limo dark. Tom agreed with me that it needed to be removed and redone. We scheduled a time and the tint was replaced. When I got in the car this time, I had new issues. I could see a small spot where there was no tint near the bottom of one window. Also, the rear defroster lines were severed at the bottom of the back window. Tom again agreed to have the tint redone. As far as I can see, the issues are now resolved, but what I'm left with is a car with signs of a poor tint job (the defroster) and several exterior cuts and scratches I swear weren't there before. (The car is not in perfect shape to begin with, but why should it endure more blemishes?). While Tom was agreeable to making things right and when I asked for a free wash he obliged, the whole experience made me wish I had never had gone to his shop in the first place. I had a car detailed there several years ago and liked the work, and thought a detail shop would surely demonstrate 'attention to detail.' I think Tom needs to find a new tint guy or just not offer that service if that's how it's going to be done.

Great experience - bought a brand new car and within 24 hours friend had thrown up in it. Called numerous detailing shops on Sunday and Tom is the only one you answered. He gave me detailed advice over the phone on how to temporarily remedy the situation and told me to come on in on Monday morning where he was there greet me first thing. He said he would make my car new and he did! Picked up the car and you would never have known what had happened just a few days before.

We had some misunderstanding between us. I thought they had said $150 for the job, but apparently they meant $150 per application. So, it came up to $300. That was a major misunderstanding about the price. I chose Autobella because they were close and they were convenient. It was a small job, so I didn?t check the details about them. I didn?t think they would ruin anything. However, I had to wash the sealer off from the insides of the door and the sun roof. They said they would need extra three hours to finish the job, but they took five hours. They didn?t do a great job. I wasn?t terribly pleased with them. I will not go back to them.

I'm sorry to hear that, I thought we were clear on the price in the beginning as these numbers were less than the dealer had quoted. Found website with prices. Called to confirm an appointment time. Arrived on schedule and the vehicle was ready on schedule, beautifully waxed, hub caps clean, and interior free of dog hair and dirt. Just as expected. Price seems to be competitive, although it feels high. It would have cost less in the city where I work, Salem, but Auto Bella is in Portland, the big city, so it will cost more. I paid it and drove away with a vehicle in spotless condition.

Preface: I'm in the chaos of moving to Portland. Moving boxes, coordinating people, etc. I picked Autobella from Angie's List, called, but due to "Moving Chaos", missed my first appointment, and came in 2.5 hours late for my appointment on Saturday, not easy to co-ordinate all your troops and errands with only one car. I came in on a Saturday, so unfortunately the guy who handles PDR and re-dressing the interior scuff marks wasn't available. BIG BUMMER. But I had an appointment at a dealership in Portland for service on Monday, and I ALWAYS detail my car before I get it serviced, because people take better care of your car if its flawless. I had some personal items in the trunk I DID NOT want messed with, so I explained to the laborer that he was NOT to open the trunk. After some conversation in English, I sensed that he didn't quite fully understand me, so I put my hand on the trunk and said, "Cerrado! Comprehendo?" "Si". About an hour into the detailing, I called Tom and asked him to expressly tell his worker NOT to open the trunk, JUST to make sure. I arrived JUST as the worker popped my trunk. He even happily showed me how he did it - through my emergency trunk release. I was horrified, and called Tom. Luckily, by the time I got there, the interior detailing was just about complete, so I asked Tom to change my detailing from Complete to Interior-only, so I could leave sooner. Aside from that skirmish, the quality of work was decent, but not exemplary. The interior was clean, but not $200-clean. Closer to $49.95-clean. I *did*, though, appreciate the sweet caramel-ly scent the product infused my leather with. At $200, I have a bit of buyer's remorse, and I would have been mostly satisfied if I had paid somewhere between $20 and $50. I don't mean to low ball, but where I typically get my car done in West Hollywood, a squad of perfectionist Korean men meticulously manage a team of Mexican and Guatemalan men to flawlessly clean, scrub, shine and shampoo my mbz's interior, and I leave the place only out $59, tip included. And that's in crappy Los Angeles, where no one gives a hoot about *anything*, and language barriers are as solid as you get, English to Korean to Spanish or Portuguese. I came to Oregon because of the quality and care people put into their craft, so I was expecting to see something AMAZING inside my car. Unfortunately, I was greeted by servicemen who did not understand me, and whose results didn't astound me. I think Tom is a good guy, and all. He has a great phone manner, and a seemingly spotless shop. He just needs to work on finding the RIGHT people to do the legwork, and not cheap out on laborers. He'll make way more money in the long run with a more quality focused approach and his heart is totally there. He just has to make sure the rest of his team is on the same page as him.

Were sorry there was a communication issue. As for the pricing differences between SoCal & Pac NW, its big, we understand that. It appears that the pricing issue is the main problem towards value with you complaint. We constantly study our local market and set our standard according to what the feedback of our clients is and what the competition will bear. At present the competition is struggling to stay alive as the 2009 has been a dismal economy so checking prices you will find a lot of lowballing just to get jobs. We do not condone this as it is a death sentence for business in the long run. If you seek out our reviews, we will have a couple of negative comments. But those are over shadowed by the over whelming amount of positives the we have within our sector.
