Description of Work: Brian created a special look in our powder room by faxing painting walls, aging cabinets and even made our ceiling look like it was plated with copper. We've had many compliments from guests.

He was prompt, showed up on time for his initial estimate appointment, scheduled and worked at our house for nearly an entire month...monday through friday from 9-5. He kept meticulous detailed billing paperwork which made it easy to remove and add items from our initial estimate as the project progressed. Great experience overall.
Description of Work: We received numerous estimates on doing lots of Faux work and Venetian Plaster work. Brian by far was the most economical, lower than everyone else by nearly 30%. The work on his website made us decide to use him and we couldn't have been happier. Instead of ripping out our white kitchen cabinets, he resurfaced and "distressed" them in a darker color and they look like they were purchased off of a showroom floor. Stunning, He redid our living room, kitchen walls, did a mural on our tray ceiling in our foyer and redid my home office. We decided to do a combination of Venetian Plaster work and textured faux finish work. The work turned out absolutely stunning and we plan on using him more in the future.

He did an excellent job and the room looks amazing. He finished within the agreed schedule and for the quoted price.
Description of Work: Brian painted our study/library. We had new cherry cabinets installed and brought him in to paint faux cherry on the wood trim with complementary coloring in the doors, striped gold on the walls, and a neutral color on the ceiling.

Brian came to look at project a few weeks ago and gave us a date before Christmas so we could get walls fauxed and provide my wife with one of her Christmas presents. The prep work took longer than expected so Brian was flexible and pushed the faux date out two days to allow the walls to be ready for faux. He finished up some prep and then fauxed the walls the same day. End result was great and wife was very pleased.
Description of Work: Brian described how he wanted the walls prepped. This replaced very ugly old wallpaper. Unfortunately, we had a lot of prep work to get wall paper off and walls smoothed then base painted. Best to do this work than try and faux over wallpaper and encounter a problem in the future with paper loosening. Brian started with cutting in more base color near trim and let that dry. Then he faux painted the walls with dark accent color using trash bags. End result was great and just what my wife wanted.

Brian Holt is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet but beyond being pleasant he's a skilled and dedicated artist. I would hire him again with no reservations and without a moment's hesitation. He is one of only three contractors I've ever used who I would hire again. To add an additional element of authenticity to this commentary, I have NEVER before now written a review of anyone, pro or con. I did this for Brian not only because he earned it but also because he deserves it. If you desire something beyond simply house painting done, you owe it to yourself to invite this artist in and to listen carefully to his ideas. You won't believe how good he is until you see a "Before" and "After."
Description of Work: Brian Holt performed both consulting and artistic work during a phase of the remodeling of one of my homes. He has both the eye and the perspective of a true artist, which he is, and he offered ideas and suggestions which surpassed my loftiest expectations. His special touch transformed an otherwise unexceptional exercise room into a triumph of imaginative expression. His use of Venetian plaster in the master bath clearly distinguishes this young man as the artist he is, reflecting a precise visual summation of the verbal description I offered as my aspiration for that space. In the same bathroom, he replicated with complete mastery a set of three tree frogs which I allowed him to place where he thought best to achieve the highest level of charisma. Again, his trained eye found the ideal spots on the wall for the three specimen frogs. Lastly, he transformed a prosaic fireplace mantle into a show stopper by painting the mantle to resemble existing cherry cabinetry in the nearby kitchen. Absolute artistic genius!

Additionally, his work is beyond description...Once you connect with him, you will not want anyone else for this specialty work.
Description of Work: Brian has done many custom finishes in our home. Additionally, he created a custom mural for our wine cellar. Each finish is beautiful and unique.

He did an excellent job. You can't tell the faux wood isn't real. He was always on time which is hard to find in a contractor.
Description of Work: Brian added Venetian Plaster around the fireplace and made the white mantel look like mahogany wood.
