Using the list of projects Everett performed, I'll share the result of his company's work: 1.Guest Bathroom: a. Remove old flooring & lay new laminate flooring: Everett's cousin performed this task. The flooring underneat was not removed completely, making the new flooring dip in places (can this collect water if not sealed correctly?). When new vinyl floooring was installed, the glue used got onto his cousin's shoe was a tracked all over the vinyl flooring. This caused permanent brown staining that is still sticky 4 months later and cannot be removed with glue-b-gone or goof off (Everett tried several times and I did too after he finished). Result: My brand new floor looks filthy and old and my slippers always stick where the glue is still present. b. Install rubber base board: Everett had to do this three times at my request because the rubber strip was two short, cut and seperated in places, unevenly applied (looks like waves on the wall in some places), kept unsticking in corners allowing water in from shower, and the adhesive used seeped out and collected dirt and dust which is not permanently fixed there. Result: after three tries it looks unprofessional, feels sticky, and has collected so much dirt that it grosses me out every time I look at it. c. Hole repaired in ceiling: Everett, as far as I know, did remove the black mold that was growing in the ceiling as a result of water damage that created this hole. My issue is that where he removed a section of the ceiling and put in a new surface is lower than the original ceiling - creating an obvious "block" that protrudes from the ceiling. Result: the ceiling is not flat. d. Resurface walls and spray orange texture: Everett did not sufficiently cover surfaces such as the mirror, window, faucets, wall hooks, etc. and sprayed this orange texture all over everything. I asked him twice to come back and clean the plaster off of these surfaces and he did not do so. I've tried scrubbing all of these surfaces and have had little luck getting the plaster off. Result: a bathroom that is splattered with plaster. I will probably have to replace everything one by one, including my windows! e. Install bathroom vent: Everett assured me he had ample experience with electrical - in fact he's an engineer! So when our electrician came in to finish the job of installing a vet that Everett had left half finished, he found some very frightening things: first Everett had left three exposed wires jutting out of our light switch box. He put duct tape on the ends, but these were still active and anyone could have touched the ends and gotten a shock or had a fire start. Second, Everett installed 6 inches of stripped wiring (same wiring that stuck out). The electrician had to shut off our power, remove all of the electrical work done by ARSCH, and redo the entire job. Result: thank goodness our house didn't catch on fire or myself (pregnant) or my husband did not touch the exposed wiring. 2. Master Bathroom a. Similarly to the guest bathroom the orange texture was sprayed all over various surfaces that should have been covered, the vinyl flooring has sticky residue that collectes dust and dirt, the rubber baseboard is installed unevenly and with excess adhesive that has collected dirt and hardened. b. Our shower, which had mold damage on the ceiling, was never repaired. Everett inspected this area and told us it was fine. I've since had to hire someone to come in and remove the mold. 3. Flooring a. Put down toe kicks: Everett had his cousin do this job. He installed all of the toe kicks upside down, something my flooring guy pointed out to me when he came to visit a week later (he could not finish the job because he was having surgery on his shoulder). My flooring guy laughed and asked how anyone "with experience installing floors" as Everett stressed over and over could have screwed up so badly. Several areas of the flooring was missing in hidden areas and where Everett had to install more than one piece to fit together for length the pieces do not match - one will be taller than another, splinters have formed on the edges, and my dog got a splinter sitting against one section. Another section was not nailed in at all and my dog ate it and threw up all over from the sealant used. When I told Everett this he simply said to train my dog not to eat things - hello, he's a puppy! 4. Kitchen a. After purchasing my first ever dishwasher I was shocked that Sears wanted to charge $120 for installation. Everett said, "no worries, I have installed lots of dishwashers and I've been doing plumbing for years." He charged me $35 which I was very happy about. The old dishwasher had already been removed and the pipes were ready to connect. Everett took 2 hours to install the dishwasher and when he turned it on for a test spin I was very happy. I did not use the dishwasher after that. A few days later my husband noticed a "squishing" sound under the floor in the kitchen - it was water. We called Everett who came out and removed the flooring in that area to find a steady leak had been coming out of the dishwasher and pooling under the floor because Everett had not used the correct connector between the water pipe and dishwasher. The brand new laminate wood floor had soaked up the the water like a sponge and swelled and buckled, making ridges in the wood in the kitchen and hallway. Everett set up a fan and laid down towels and told me to use my dehumidifier and to call him when it felt dry. I did not know what dry would feel like and I called him a week later to come back and check. He eventually came back and installed the last of my spare flooring. Within 2 days the newly installed floor swelled up and formed further ridges within the kitchen and hallway. I called Everett again who came out and tore out the flooring and told me to buy more flooring and use my dehumidifier longer. Now during this time I couldn't use my kitchen at all and my dishwasher was sitting out in my living room. I finally called my flooring guy and told him what happened. He had recently had surgery, so he came out with his partner and assessed the damage. They told me the fan Everett used had further pushed the water under more flooring and it was buckling as a result. They sufficiently removed the existing water, more flooring, and installed flooring for a third time. Now my kitchen is fixed and it took me 2 months to get Everett to pay for it. Master Bedroom a. Install closet doors: This should have been very simple - just install new brackets on the floor for my rolling doors. He installed the doors upside down and now I have a big gash in my new flooring where he forced a door to slide. In addition to these things I have asked Everett to come back and fix a hole in my wall that he caused (he never did and it's still there), and pick up all of the cigarette butts his cousin threw on my lawn (I had to do this myself). I told him his cousin was not allowed on my property because of all the damage he had caused and it took many phone calls, texts, a call to the CCB and BBB before Everett finally paid me for work performed by he electrician and fooring guy to repair the damage he caused. He has never refunded any of the money I paid him. Sometimes I sit in the bathroom and cry when I see the work he did. I am a pregnant woman who trusted Everett to help me fix my home. I always paid him the amount he asked and I did so on time every time. I'm sicked to think someone could do these things to another person who is in a vulnerable position. It speaks of the lowest morality and complete lack of ethics and empathy.
Description of Work: When we moved to Oregon and bought a fixer-upper my husband and I did not know where to find a handyman/general contractor. We started doing projects ourselves and getting our materials from Lowes. While at Lowes I was approached by a colleague of Everett Schultz who worked with him at Lowes and told me he could help me with a lot of the projects at my home. This man gave me Everett's business card and I called him that afternoon for a consultation. When Everett came to my home he walked through it with me and gave me rock bottom prices - I thought I had hit the jackpot! I saw pictures he had posted on his Facebook that showed work he had done on fencing and a bathroom and I was very impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail. I hired him to repair part of my floor which had rotted from years of water damage - I figured if he did a good job with this I would hire him for other projects. He came out and did the work himself in time for my flooring guys to come and lay down new laminate flooring - I was very happy with the work and hired him to do several more projects. He told me had years of experience with flooring, plumbing, and various types of home repair and I took him for his word. What I found was that he never finished one project before starting another, and in doing so I never saw the full extent of the damage he caused until all of the work was "completed" at the same time and he had packed up his things and left. What follows is a list of some of the projects: 1. Guest Bathroom: remove old flooring, lay new vinyl flooring, install rubber baseboard around bath, remove old toilet and install new, resurface walls and spray with orange texture, repair hole from water damage in ceiling, install bathroom vent. 2. Master Bathroom: remove old flooring and lay new vinyl flooring, install rubber baseboard, remove old toilet and install new, resurface walls and spray with orange texture, repair mold/water damaged areas. 3. Flooring: install toe kicks around new laminate flooring 4. Kitchen: Install dishwasher 5. Master Bedroom: Install doors on closets

It took them awhile to get here, but once they got started it only took a couple of days. The gentleman came out gave me a reasonable estimate. They did quality work and I would use them again.
Description of Work: They put in a cable vent in the attic and did some other work for me.
