Description of Work: I went to there store for a specific part for my dishwasher. They did not have it in stock that say, but they ordered it for me and made a point of beating the best price I found on-line. Helpful and friendly. The part arrived a day later and they showed me how to install it. Thanks guys!

I actually had purchased a vintage stove online and took it to them. They refurbish it. Once I got there, I found one that I liked better, so they let me apply for the cost of other vintage stove keeping my other one as part. They held onto it until my house remodel was finished and then they delivered and installed it. All of the gentleman that work there were extremely helpful in answering my questions, not knowing a lot about the vintage stove, I just liked to look, so they are kind of told me the pros and the cons. They came out and adjusted it when it wasn’t exactly how I wanted it and I was happy with their work.

My electric clothes dryer had run out of heat. It still tumbled, and the light came on, but clothes weren't drying. Appliance City employees were patient, pleasant, and helpful on the phone, providing possible causes and approximate prices for each solution. They even had me check the circuit breakers to make sure the problem wasn't there. Scheduling was very flexible, and they were able to quickly diagnose the problem as a faulty heating element -- apparently not an uncommon issue with this series of Kenmore dryers that have the lint screen inside the door frame -- and then replace the element with a used part from their stock. Work was quick, efficient, informative, and inexpensive. I'm very pleased with their service, and I intend to use them again when the need arises.

I called them on the phone about fixing our old oven. Since it was around 30 years old and they don't even make the brand name anymore we both agreed it may be better just to buy a newer oven. We went there the very next day and right off the bat we found the oven we wanted. They delieved and installed it within the hour and made sure we knew how to use all the features. Super nice, down to earth service. A +

They were very friendly on the phone and came over the same day I called them. They did not have the exact fridge part so he adapted one he had, which was faster and less expensive though the end result is not perfect (the fridge door is still slightly lower than the freezer door on the other side). I do wish he had asked my opinion before doing it, though I would have chosen to go with the faster, less expensive route. They ordered the part for my dryer, it was there the next day and they came out same day to install. They looked into parts for the dishwasher, and called me promptly, recommending buying a new one instead of spending more than new on repair. I decided not to do anything at this time on that.

Steve diagnosed that my 25 year old washer was as good as dead over the phone. Went down there to pick out a washer and dryer -they have a large selection of rebuilt appliances. Mike was very friendly and helpful. Picked a set out and they were delivered that afternoon and my old set were taken away to be recycled. So far, they work great. A very helpful, friendly and professional business.

Mark showed up on time and was courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem and recommended we try using an oven thermometer to gage the heat rather than spend three or four hundred dollars on a new electronic board for the three year old but rarely used oven. We agreed that would be the best option, so no further work was done. He did not charge us for the labor since we are in the neighborhood. We were only charged for the house call.
Description of Work: Oven not cooking right. Mark from Appliance City diagnosed the problem (element keeps cycling when it shouldn't, causing overheating) and outlined the solutions. No further work opted for.

Our gas oven stopped preheating. Turned out to be both the igniter probably due to the failure of a more expensive part called the ERC. He was very helpful in determining if it was worth fixing both parts, and in the end we decided to go for the lesser part only ($45) and then next time it breaks, we'll probably replace the stove.

The fellow I talked to on the phone was very honest and helpful in determining, without a service call, that my dishwasher, which had not been in use for over a year due to a serious drainage problem, was probably not worth the cost of attempting to repair. The short version of why is that when not used for longer than a couple months, the rubber seals deteriorate steadily. Apparently, often after a non-related repair is made and the dishwasher is put back into service, after a indeterminate but usually 'relatively'' short period of time, the seals will fail and the unit will leak. Depending on where it's installed and where the leaks are, it may be some time before the leak is noticed, resulting in potential water damage to the kitchen, basement below, etc. Since the cost of repairing the drainage problem plus replacing the seals would likely approach $200-250, I decided it better to buy a new energy efficient unit that was on sale for $279 (plus delivery and installation, of course.
Description of Work: No actual work performed, however excellent advise was given that resulted in their not needing to make a service call. See Comments for full descriptions.

They were late because some of the downtown streets were closed for demonstrations. But he called and explained the problem, and got here as quickly as he could. He had brought parts with him, so was able to complete the job in one visit. He was very polite and helpful. He also said to call back if the problem came back, and he would return with no additional fee.

We have never been disappointed in this company and trust them to be fair and do a good job. Many of our family and friends use them.
Description of Work: Most recently, we had our refrigerator repaired. The repairman was prompt, thorough, solved our problem, and gave us helpful info for the future. We have used this company for over 30 years. It is family owned and now we have grandsons coming to do the repairs. In the past, when our dishwasher or washer needed replacement, we would make one call to them with a description of what we wanted, and they would pick one out, bring it and install it, and remove the old one. The price is always reasonable.
