AMERICAN LANDSCAPE SUPPLY

I am installing a small walkway between some raised beds in my garden. I've got the pavers all ready, I just needed to set the subbase up - I needed 1 cubic yard of 3/4 inch minus crushed gravel, and about 1/2 cubic yard of washed river sand. I got quotes from 3 different places - Best Buy in Town, S&H, and American Landscape supply. Best Buy had the highest bid, asking for $150 for delivery of the materials (and giving me grief about ordering 1/2 yard of sand - even though it is listed on their price list). S&H came in at $110 after a discount for Intel employees. But American just destroyed the other 2 on price - $73 delivered. The materials were cheaper than both of the competitors. Additionally, even though I was ordering 2 things, they didn't charge me for the split order, and the delivery charge was only $30 since I was in the local delivery area. They were also able to deliver next day as well, even though I placed the order late in the day. The delivery was about 1 hour later than the original estimate provided (which is the only reason they didn't get straight A's), but the materials arrived and I was able to get going on my project. I'd definitely use them again for landscaping supplies.

Susie at the store was super helpful and full of information. The owner of the business was another story. He showed up at our home angry and swearing. All was not perfect for him and as the situation became more difficult he continued to become more and more irate, swearing and slamming about. He left two large boulders that are impossible to move without heavy machinery on the side of the road by our house, and left without saying good-bye. I had no other choice but to go along with this, I really wanted this man out of my yard as soon as possible. The neighbors were beginning to take notice. Nothing about this man was professional, this seemed to be a normal thing for him.
