I have used this company before and have had excellent work done so called again. They are always very professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. They are just too expensive for this job. He bid $6400 for the living and dining room only. We currently have open beam and want to close it up with insulation, sheet rock and can lights. We also have blown in insulation which we wanted to address and we always get the same answer, "it doesn't settle that much" but no real way to test it. The company I'm going with is doing the dining, living, and hall, also adding can light, and texturing the ceilings for under $6,000 as well as packing our blown in insulation from the 60's. He came with a camera to view the drop in insulation as well as dug around and found it not well packed. I like All Weather and used them a few years back to insulate the crawl space under our house and they did an amazing job!

This team of professionals is well coordinated and conducted themselves well on the job site: careful not to mar floors or walls. We received full and detailed explanations of the work needed, work to be provided as well as potential outcomes. The team installed three vent fans, as well as installed insulation to the attics, sealed the crawl space and insulated the floor. We are very pleased with their supportive efforts and service.
Description of Work: On site inspection/assessment of all sites requiring insulation as well as inspection of sites of additional interest. Coordination of team for installation of insulation in attics, crawl space and storage areas as well as installation of ventilation fans.

He said that my attic was warm, but that I really didn't need to do anything. He said he'd email me with some recommendations if I wanted to do those, but that it wouldn't save me too much money. I haven't gotten any recommendations from him so far, but he was very professional.

I was excited to get a quote from this company given their reviews on Angie's list. I'm still shocked at how bad my experience was with their Rep, John. First of all, when John hadn't shown up by 3:30 for our 3:00 appointment I called the office. I was surprised when the person who answered the phone said John was standing right there! Really? As soon as John got on the phone he apologized that he had forgotten to turn his phone back on after a meeting and had therefore not got his appointment reminder on it. Hmmmmmm....okay, I can accept that. BUT, then John said he'd be over in 10 minutes. Given that I live close to their offices I thought that was entirely possible, he could actually get there that fast. Apparently, I was wrong. 25 minutes later I again called the office, and told them that John had said he'd be here in 10 minutes and that was 25 minutes ago for the appointment that he had already missed at 3:00, it's now almost 4pm. To the credit of the person who answered the office phone, she was great, she was appropriately apologetic. I told her that I was now in no mood to have John show up and wasn't sure that I wanted to use their company at all given this horrible first impression. She said she would call John and tell him the appointment was cancelled. Seems like John must not have turned on his phone again, because he still shows up, it's now 4:05pm. I wasn't happy but decided to go ahead with the quote. I asked John to give me a quote on adding attic insulation, blowing in wall insulation, replacing 2 exterior doors, and replacing one kitchen bay window. The meeting was fine enough and as he was leaving he said he'd get everything to me within a few days. Great. Well, again John didn't do what he said he would. I DID get the insulation quotes. When I emailed him back about the door quote, he said he was still waiting on some info and would get it to me in a few days. That never happened. The only other contact I had from him was a random call, at least a week or two later, saying that he was just going through some paperwork and wanted to follow up on my quote for windows. Wow, really? He can't even get that right? I didn't even bother calling him back. What's the point? I don't want to use a company that employs someone like that. I've NEVER had such poor service from any contractor.

The owner did the estimate and made me aware that the service was eligible for a rebate from Oregon Energy Trust . The estimate was very fair and the service was performed within 2 weeks. The owner was onsite to get the job started. The staff were punctual, clean and did not leave any debris behind. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. Joe

We had a really good experience. Dave Poynter took care of us from the start of the bid to the close of the project. I feel that we paid a fair price for the work they did. They handled all the energy trust paperwork and we're expecting a $600 rebate to be arriving soon. The project took a 1/2 day longer than they had originally quoted, but the scheduler warned me that this could happen when we booked the job, so I was not caught off guard by it. Dave was on site at the start of each day to ensure the installers had direction and knew what they had to do. The guys doing the installation were professional and cleaned up after each stage. Dave was incredibly patient with the zillion questions that I had for him and answered each one thoroughly. They used all Eco-friendly products that contained no formaldehyde and made from recycled glass. No-off gassing was especially important to us as we're expeciting a little one soon. Now, officially one month after the job is done, I'm please to report that our energy usage is down a full 43% in kilowatt hours (Down 804kWh from last years bill) and the costs have come down over 27%. The bill would have been paid even less had it not been for the 1.5 cent price increase that took effect last Feb/March. I highly reccomend this company. They have been in the business a long time and they do the job right!
Description of Work: Insulated floor under crawl space to R30 and also insulated all pipes in the crawl space. Blew insulation in the gables and floor in finished attic and insulated knee walls to Energy Trust specifications which is R40 and R19 I believe. Insulated knee walls in the room above garage and blew insulation into the floor joists. Installed 4 new attic vents and 1 new roof vent Relined crawl space with new 6mm liner.

All in all the entire set of tasks were accomplished efficiently and professionally. The crew/s were prompt and pleasant to have around. Dave was quick to get back in touch with me when I needed to talk with him. The final cost was fair and reflected the adjustment for the insulation not required. I wouldn't hesitate to hire these folks again for remodeling or insulation work.
Description of Work: Dave Poynter came out and gave estimates on blowing in insulation into the main floor walls of our 1912 craftsman bungalow. He also advised and bid on replacement of upper shake siding on the southside which was worn out due to weather/exposure and bid on reattaching upper "knee-braces/beams" under the soffits/roof on north and south sides. We considered proposals from 4 other contractors as well. In the end we chose All-Weather as their price and professionalism seemed a good match for our budget and needs. We were very pleased with the results all around. The insulation team (Crispin and Jay) were thourough and competent at the task and clean up. It was discovered that the front (east) side of house had been insulated previously (we've owned the home since 1990). Dave was very willing to cut the price of this work to reflect the actual job necessary. The shake siding was put on by McKenzie and John, both of whom worked diligently and efficiently at the task. McKenzie is particularily skilled at remodeling. The final result was straight and true (new shingles had to be aligned perfectly with the good ones which were not replaced). The only glitch in the entire project was that Dave had purchased unprimed cedar shakes when primed was desired. When I brought this to his attention he did not hesitate to take the originals back and returned with the primed ones. No complaints. No stress. McKenzie and Mack worked on the knee braces and went to great lengths to get these positioned correctly and tight to the body of the house. It was a bit bigger task than expected but they were patient and there were no problems.

I contacted the company for an estimate. The salesman/estimator (Dave) was very professional and arrived promptly and promised a quote by the end of the week (the sole reason that the responsiveness and puncuality grades aren't both and quot;Fand quot;s). When the quote didn't arrive on Friday as promised, I called the following Tuesday. Dave explained he was short handed and needed a few more days to finish the quote, but that and quot;it wouldn't be very expensiveand quot;. I sent a follow-up email a couple days later, but got busy on other things and didn't get back to them after not hearing from them for two weeks. I called and talked to someone else (the owner) who apologized and promised a quote the following day. I didn't get it as promised, and the day after I called again and talked to a woman who said she'd sent it and would forward it again (she had, and the firewall had blocked it). When I looked at the quote I was shocked. It was more than four times the cost I'd expected, which I thought was conservative based on the work content. There was no detail provided. As a last attempt to understand the disconnect I contacted the company and asked Dave to call me with details so I could possibly adjust the work scope, but no return call. I'm through with these guys.
Description of Work: I'm converting a bedroom to a music studio, and wanted to get a contractor to implement suggestions on sound isolation from an acoustic engineer. I had used All Weather several years ago for a kitchen remodel and was delighted with the experience, and so assumed this would be similar, but that was not the case. The work included blowing cellulose insulation into two interior walls (11' and 13'), installing upholstered rigid insulation panels, and a sound door (materials provided by me).

John came to do an inspection and give an estimate. He was very thorough and provided good ideas on how to improve the heat in our house by insulating and sealing duct work. He came to our house before and during the project and gave us a follow up call to make sure we were happy with the work. He was easily accessible by phone and responded quickly for questions. After the workers got into our crawl space and found that the amount of work and installation needed was less then quoted, John adjusted our bill to reflect the actual work and materials used. After the ducts were sealed, we noticed improved heat flow in our house and felt that was a good investment. I got their name from the Energy Trust of Oregon trade ally list, and they said they would file paperwork for our rebates.
Description of Work: All Weather insulated under our house (in crawl space), sealed our ducts, and insulated some ducts. They also did some wood work to improve airflow in a cabinet that had a heated vent.

The guy was very knowledgeable. We had heard very good things from people we know, but the bid was substantially higher so we did not go with them. John was wonderful - he responded to my email promptly. The estimate process was fast and efficient, he looked at our attic spaces and knew just what to do. We received a quote within a week via email and it was the best price. The day of the job, the team arrived on time and finished before the targeted deadline. The team did a wonderful job of making sure our house stayed clean, they put down floor coverings and vacuumed after they were finished. Later that day when I entered our loft space (where the side attics were) I instantly noticed the temperature difference. We couldn't be more pleased with the work!! Our house stays warm and we have hardly had to use the heat yet.

We looked at three companies. I liked this one the best. The person who gave us the estimate, John B., was friendly and personable. He showed a lot of interest in our house, even things he wasn't bidding on, like drainage. Different crews did different things - I think there were seven folks in all. The only problem was that a couple of times folks couldn't make it out due to illness. All the workers seemed to know what they were doing. They were polite and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely hire them again, and will consult them next year about a bath remodel.
Description of Work: We had insulation blown into all our exterior walls. Our attic insulation was beefed up and sealed off with Tyvek. Four new windows were installed. A section of chimney was removed and the drywall repaired. Our exterior doors were weatherstripped.

Estimate was slightly more than other company contacted, but Dave seemed to have a better grasp of what needed to be done so I went with them (thus the 'B' for price). The work was done in two days and seemed to be done well. My only minor complaint was that the vents were installed just a bit off of level. Not very noticeable to passers by, but I am pretty detail oriented and I see it (thus the 'B' for quality). Overall, I thought they did a good job.

We had them come out and give us an estimate, after we stopped by their showroom on Freemont in NE Portland to look at window designs. They were on time for all appointments they made with us, and the installation crews were very courteous. The person who did the estimate was very thorough, and asked many questions to help us make decisions about what we wanted. He walked us through the steps that would happen on the day of construction, and came with the insulation blowing team to identify any areas of concern. He showed us several places that we could/should look to ensure that insulation didn't enter the back of built-in cabinets and such. They did a great job insulating, paying attention to problem areas above and below windows, in the eaves and above our finished attic.
