These guys are incredible. Two other contractors tried and failed to repair the leaks in the foundation. Greg with Ability Plus was the first contractor that actually understood w** was going on with our drainage and the right way to fix it. They hand dug the trench around the exterior 7 ft deep. The crew was great, put tarps down to pile the dirt, and when they cleaned up, well it was clean.

Konnor came out to go through the crawlspace and then prepared the estimate. Very smooth process. The original estimate included a french drain and a sump pump. I suggested we hold off on the french drain to see if the sump pump would be enough. The work was done in a timely manner and the crew was friendly and professional. Follow-up was great. A year after the work was done I contacted the company and asked if they would do a walk-through to confirm that all was working well and to confirm that a french drain wasn't needed. Konnor came out within a week and did an inspection at no charge. This impressed me. I would hire them again and recommend them to anyone who needed this type of work done.

Ability Plus Drainage listened to the problem I described and the end result I wanted (others didn't). Their proposed solution made sense (others didn't) and they walked me through it all and answered all questions. They did point out that part of what I wanted done was "belt and suspenders" (which I knew, but was willing to pay for as it was not the bulk of the work and was relatively cheap insurance). They showed up promptly every day they were scheduled, worked hard all week, and best of all, I can now report that our basement appears to finally be dry. Work performed: * They dug out a trench along the problem area of our foundation, down past the cold joint. A new French drain was installed below the level of the cold joint. * They painted waterproofing onto the foundation wall (this was the overkill part, but it was a minor portion of the overall cost since the foundation wall was exposed anyway, so it was worth it to me). * They installed Aquaboard against the foundation wall. * They created a swale for diverting surface water and a vertical connection to the French drain.
Description of Work: We had an ongoing, very frustrating problem with water seeping into our crawl space through our foundation cold joint as well as permeating the foundation sidewall. We spent three years trying to fix it (work done in the summer, find out in the winter it didn't fix the problem, rinse and repeat). We had at least 5 or 6 different contractors/drainage "experts" out to look at it over the years, and the "solutions" ranged from "what do you want me to do?" to crazy, extremely expensive $10 and $20K ideas (thus my inability to comment on price, as I wouldn't be comparing apples to apples). One company insisted there was "no way" to prevent the water coming in, and I needed what he was selling to deal with the water once it got inside.

Ability put in a new drainage line along the side of the house, digging down to the base of the foundation, which was a ton of work. They ran pipe out to a spot in the yard for the water to drain to, and they connected the downspouts to the new pipes (The old drain pipes had failed.) They put in a moisture barrier up against the house and sealed the crack. They did this work in very rainy conditions, moving a lot of dirt in the process, but they cleaned up very carefully. For the amount of work that they did the price seemed reasonable. It's been ten months since the work, and it seems to be working as intended.
Description of Work: We had a crack in our foundation, which caused water to get into a basement room. We needed the crack repaired and better drainage put in. We had several estimates done, which were all over the map in terms of what should be done.

They are very hard workers and performed the task that they were asked to do.
Description of Work: The dug a ditch around the outside of the back of the house, removed the old drainage pipe placed around the footing because it wasn't removing the water correctly, put some waterproof material around the foundation and replaced the dirt. The basement doesn't leak anymore. They also placed a French drain in the yard with some cleanout stations, and it carries the water from the back to the front pipe that carries it to the street.

Other companies will try to sell you $10,000 solutions to seal your crawlspace and install sump pumps and dehumidifiers. These guys don't give you a huge salespitch. But the owner came out and saw that we had an interior low point drain the trenching could be connected to. He's the only one that offered that solution, so I have to give him points for that. I worked up the courage to go down there and investigate a few months later, and the ground was very hard and dry, even where there used to be standing water. I did have to call them back to repair the foundation vent though, which they did promptly without a hassel.
Description of Work: Our crawlspace had water and very soft muddy ground. We also needed to replace the vapor barrier because of a prior rodent infestation.

Ability Drainage has proved to be reliable, fairly priced and providers of excellent work to our home since 2015 when they were called in to estimate the work that needed to be done in our crawl space. Every time they have come the work is done on time and on budget, and as for the outdoor work - attractively installed as well. Best of all - in April 2017 I asked them to come back to inspect our crawl space as there had been so much rain. Konnor did a thorough inspection, also went outside and made a recommendation to upgrade our gutters (which is not work we would have them do) - and best of all - NO CHARGE for the inspection! I thought that as I called them to come in there would be a charge - but no. I'm totally impressed and will continue to use them and recommend them.

Greg oversaw the work which was only satisfactory. The seams between vapor sheets and the edges where they met the deck support footings were sloppily placed with many gaps, and wrinkles. Deck planks replaced with screws missing the target joists. Poor attention to detail and aesthetically wanting. I pointed these out to Greg who has not yet remedied the discrepancies lingering now for over 3 months. He never initiated any communication; always had to be called. Despite asking for warranty information none was provided.
Description of Work: We were in search of a home for purchase. The inspection revealed erosion under the deck around the supports. On the advice of our realtor, Ability Plus used vapor barrier, with tape and long staples to secure it to the ground.

Home inspection found seasonal water in crawl space. Konnor got us on his schedule before our closing date. His crew was very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and kept our home neat clean (inside & out). They informed of progress and kept on schedule. This is a top notch company and even got a good review from a competitor.

We had a challenging project--Greg worked hard and got it right. He put french drains on two sides of the house, and came up with an innovative solution to a persistent drip in one corner. I appreciate the responsiveness and the quality of the work, and highly recommend. Cost was appropriate for the work done.

Very frustrating experience. It took a week to schedule site visit. I took time off work to meet with Greg, hoping drainage work could commence (I had already explained our problem to Ability over the phone). Actually, Greg stopped by, reviewed for five minutes and said he would need to schedule his team to come by and scope the drains. I received an email from their office on 9/15 with a quote to scope the drain. I responded and approved of the quote same day, asking when the work would be done. I was informed work would be done on 9/21/15. On 9/23/15, I had not heard anything from Ability, so I sent an email asking for an update. On 9/25/15, I received a reply email indicating Ability found a blockage in the drain and would need to cable the drain, which they planned to do on 9/30/15. I replied to this email same day approving them to proceed. By 10/7/15, I had not heard from Ability, so I again emailed their office asking if the work had been completed on 9/30/15. I never received a reply to this email. On 10/9/15, I did receive a voicemail from Greg indicating work had been completed and our problem should be solved. I called Greg back and left a message on his cell phone. I also texted him asking him to call me. I wanted to know what work had been done. I never received a reply to this call or text. In fact, other than the day Greg showed up for the quote, I have never spoken with Greg. On 10/16/15, having not heard from anyone, I again emailed Ability's office informing them that we had a recent rain and our drain was again clogging up. I asked that someone contact me ASAP to discuss. I never received a reply. On Thursday 10/22/15, I called and spoke with a female in Ability's office. All of my emails had been to Kinsey (sp?), but this was a different person. I explained my situation and pleaded that someone get in touch with me to discuss our situation. This lady assured me that she would contact Greg and get back to me following day (Friday 10/23). I never heard from anyone at Agility on Friday. In summary, about 6+ weeks have passed since I first met with Greg. Our drain problem remains. And, after countless phone calls (some of which are not itemized in this review because I don't have exact dates), emails, etc. our drain problem is not solved. I can't reconcile Ability's otherwise favorable Angies List ratings with our experience, which has been terrible. We are contacting other companies this weekend to complete this project.
Description of Work: Don't know. Ability was suppose to solve a blocked drain related to a downspout. Never found out exactly what was done, but the problem is not fixed. During the last rain period, water kept backing up from the downspout drain.

Greg was prompt for the inspection/assessment and quickly and professionally what the problem was (which was considerably less and offered a 2/3 less expensive solution than an alternative, well-known company who'd already been out to give a bid) and how best to permanently fix it. His crew showed up on time and worked quickly to excavate an area near the cracked foundation and created a french drain away from the problem area. They also sealed up a separate cracked area which was responsible for a separate leak. The crew worked quickly in a few days and put the grass and landscaping back to normal before leaving.

Greg and his team are awesome. Called him up. Told him the problem. He not only looked at the current issue, but what could cause potential problems in the future. He called before coming over and let us know his guys were there to do the work so we were not surprised. His team fixed the issue and we are very very satisfied not only with the current work, but what he did for us in the past. He followed through on his warranty and went above and beyond the warranty to make sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend Greg and his team. Great follow through and went above and beyond. In a state that gets a lot of rain it is nice to be able to count on people who will do the job to the end.
Description of Work: This was a warranty fix. Provider came and checked our downspouts and garage for water leakage. We worked with Greg and team when we first bought our house about 4 years ago. They waterproofed the outside of our house, but a few years later we were getting leakage. Provider came out and went above and beyond. Dug up our underground pipes to look for blockage and created a clean out in two areas (at no cost). They also re-worked the existing system and replaced it with new materials, b/c new technology is now standard.

I was amazed at how hard the workers worked. They did it in 5 working days. Cleaned up afterwards. They hand dug a 4' trench around the house. This was done over a month ago and even though its June we have had some hard rains. No water at all under the house. I am totally happy and would hire them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: I live at the bottom of Mt Scott, so I get a lot of run off. My crawl space had a lot of water in it. He came out on time and assured me that I would not need a sump pump after he put a drain all around the outside of my house. I liked his no nonsense approach. No BS.

Gave the bid, I wanted to hire him, and called him FOUR TIMES!!! The guy refused to return any of my calls, and that is even after his office manager promised he would give the message to him (Greg). The crew showed up promptly at 8 AM and started working almost immediately after we did a walk-through. All excavating was done by hand. All soiled dug up was placed on tarp and put back into place. They encountered several obstacles (tree roots, walkways, that they successfully navigated around. It took them a day and half to complete the work before a separate gutter subcontractor came in to complete the work on downspouts. When all trenching was complete, they covered with new top soil which look nice. It took about a day for the gutter work to be completed. In general, both teams, drainage and gutters did a great job and we are very pleased with the end product. In the planning stage, Greg was very helpful in making suggestions about solutions as was Rod the gutter expert.
Description of Work: Install drains for each side of the driveway and connected to existing drainage system. Added a new drain pipe along the front of house for one new downspout and rain chain with associate catch basins. Upgraded all downspouts to larger size with lower screen catches for debris. Added a new downspout in the back of the house and associated drainage pipe. Connected gutter system from under desk to existing drainage pipe. Cleaned our drain that was plugged. We added to the scope of the project from the original quote which did not present a problem. Their flexibility was appreciated.

He is straightforward and honest. It was December, nobody really wanted to do it anyway and dig in the cold and the wet. They came out and did the estimate. I happen to know Greg. As a matter of fact, I didn't realize who I was calling until I got a hold of him so there's a familiarity there too, that I know his professional reputation and the individual as well. We ended up not using him because we kind of had to work on the city on that and part of it was the ability to work with the city and Greg wasn't totally familiar with Milwaukee area and the availability. The estimated price was still in the ballpark of what we did end up paying. I'll definitely use them again in the future.

We did not hire Ability Plus. Greg was on time and seemed like he knew what he was doing. After we got his bid, we decided to hire him. Then we thought of a few more questions and sent him a couple of emails. I believe we also left him a voicemail. We never heard back from him, which is why we gave him a C for professionalism. He was professional when he was here doing the bid. After not hearing from him, we moved onto another company who did the same work for less money. So, it worked out for us in that regards.

Unfortunately we had the same experience as others have with Greg. We didn't hear back from him. We had sent in the $300 for the work his crew did and still didn't hear anything. Over the next several weeks we emailed and called and got no response. When I voiced my frustration of not getting a response to the person answering the phones in the office, I was given Greg's cell number and I left a message. Greg finally called us back the next day. He did tell us what was going on with our drains, but we have decided to not have him complete the job. We will look for another company that is more reliable to work with.
Description of Work: Our realtor had highly recommended Greg with Ability Plus so we gave him a call. He came on-time and we discussed possible reasons there was water under our house. He said a crew would come out to put video cameras up our drains to see if they were fully connected. The crew showed up on time and looked into our drains. My husband and I were both away from the home while the crew was working so we were expecting to get a report back from Greg soon thereafter. He never contacted us.

We’ve had seepage in our basement for years, which resulted in a musty smell and dry rot. Last winter the heavy rains and runoff from the snow caused a flood in the basement, ruining carpet and drywall. After talking to a number of people from other companies, all of whom said we needed to spend many thousands of dollars on a drainage system, we spoke to Greg from Ability Plus. While he agreed that the ‘final solution’ would be to improve our outside drainage, he also said that a sump pump would resolve our seepage issue. That was a solution we could afford. His people showed up on time and performed the work in less than one day. They dug a hole in the foundation, installed the pump, and ran the drain pipe outside through the foundation wall, hooking it into our rain gutter system. They finished the inside with a cover and concrete that blended well with the floor. We were impressed with their efficient use of time, their cleanliness, and the finish work. His men were friendly and took care to disturb us as little as possible. In the month and a half since installation, not a bit of moisture has leaked into the basement. The areas that were perpetually damp last year are dry. The smell is gone, and we’re ready to install a new wall in the basement. We’re happy with the work Ability Plus did for us and would recommend them to anyone who has problems like ours.

Everything went well and he didn't seem to be concern about our mold issue. My only issue is that he said he would send us a quote or estimate and we still have not received anything 3 weeks later. We just had to contact them again to see where it is.
Description of Work: We called this company as a recommendation from our real estate agent to come look at our house. We have a known mold issue on our bottom level and it was recommended to us to look at maybe putting in some French drains. We wanted them to come out and take a look to see how we could fix our internal mold issue. Greg showed up on time, he looked at all our problem areas within the house. It was his opinion that our issue wasn't that bad and it could be very costly for us to put in a drain or try and dig up the foundation. He thought the issue might be that we had drywall that was not mold or water resistant. He was very professional.
