A Critical Eye Painting LLC

Having just moved from New Jersey to Portland, we wanted to have the outside of our new home painted. Our realtor gave us and quot;A Critical Eye Painting.and quot; Their pricing was very fair and we had all the siding and trim done, along with the front porch. I have owned 7 houses and I have never dealt with more professional, friendly guys in my life! They use Benjamin Moore paint and the quality of their work is truly exceptional. Jeremy, Jeremy and their crew are perfectionists and their work shows. I highly recommend them for any painting you may need. You will be thrilled! Update...this past week, we had our living and dining rooms painted. Both the walls and ceilings. Once again, and quot;A Critical Eye Paintingand quot; exceeded our expectations; both the quote and the quality of their work. The rooms looks perfect! They are masters of their trade. This week they will be doing our front door and garage.

Jeremy and his associate Matt did a really great job. At first I thought his total bid (for the porch project as well as misc exterior projects) was a bit high, but I wanted the porch project done ASAP (before the 4th of July weekend) and he juggled his schedule to accomodate me. He and Matt were meticulous about protecting the newly finished wood floors and their prep work was extensive. In fact it took so much time simply to prepare the space for painting that I realized that the bid wasn't high at all--it was totally reasonable for the time they spent. They had to paper every pane of window glass (at least 80 panes) individually, not to mention the sanding, caulking, etc. They sprayed the white woodwork then backbrushed it for a more authentic "old house" look. They took care that the two windows that slide open were not painted shut. They kept and left a VERY clean work environment--no stray paint splattered anywhere or brushes cleaned in my landscaping (as has happened before). Jeremy came back to do some touch up a few days later (he asked me to make a list--there was very little to point to though) and even offered to scrape all of the paint left on the individual window panes by a previous painter. And throughout it all kept in great contact with me--called me regularly to confirm decisions, with updates, let me know when he'd be returning (between coats), etc. Finally, I very much enjoyed overhearing the kinds of discussions/debates he and Matt would have while they worked--these guys would get into some pretty interesting philosophical/current events explorations, without being judgemental or distracted from their work. I admire that. I'm looking forward to having him paint our garage and repaint our exterior trim in the immediate future.

These guys are great. I get tired of contractors being flakes and/or poor communicators. But Jeremy almost always answers his phone and if he doesn't he calls you back in a timely manner. These guys do a quality job and work their hearts out.
