I called this company 3 mountains plumbing and asked if they could come give me an estimate as my hot water barely flows. I told them I was a renter and they said they would have to get permission from the landlord before they came out period they called the landlord got permission to come out and do a quote, then call me back to set up a time. My landlord drove from Keizer to Beaverton to be here for that estimate. They called the landlord the day before to confirm again, which he did. My appointment was supposed to be a morning appointment. They said they couldn't guarantee a time, but it would be a 4 hour window between 8 and 12, which didn't happen. Then I get a text from them saying it would be an early afternoon appointment. The technician Tyler himself called me at 1:15 and said he was on his way and would be out here by 2:15-2:30. At 2:45, I called asking where the tech was. The lady said she would have to call dispatch to find out, and someone would call me back. I got a call back saying the tech tried to call the landlord, but he didn't answer, so he didn't come. I told her the landlord was here and had been here all day waiting for them. She said they won't come until they had confirmation from the landlord. I told them he had already confirmed twice, and they said they needed confirmation the same day. I told them he was on my roof working, and that is why he didn't have his phone. I asked why then did the Tech call me himself and tell me he was on his way? The lady said because he called you first before trying the landlord. I said, "ok, then why didn't he call me back to say he wouldn't be coming, and I would have told him the landlord was here?" She said," I don't know, I would be upset too." I asked to speak to a manager, and she said Tim was on the phone, but she would have him call me back. About five minutes later, I get a call from Nicole. I told her what happen and she said that's why I'm calling you to let you know the tech wouldn't be out. I said you're calling me an hour after the fact, and after I called your office twice already to let me know that? I told her I wanted to speak to the manager and she said she was a manager. She said she was going to try to have someone come out, but it was almost four, and it was too late to send someone out. Again, if they were to call like they should have to let me know nobody was coming there would have been time for someone to come out, and I could have told them the landlord was here working on the roof and that's why he didn't have his phone. Not to mention, he already confirmed twice, once just the day before. This company is unreliable and the customer service is horrible! Avoid them at all cost!

I recently had a toilet installed upstairs, and about a week later, I noticed water stains on the ceiling underneath. It’s been about a month, and the company has still not fixed the leak. Someone came out this weekend and thought he had, then he painted over the water stains, but the paint doesn’t match (he said it would after it dried, but it does not). Right after he left, it became apparent that water was still leaking through. It’s now hard to get answers from the company, and it’s been over a month since the installation. I’m concerned about drywall damage and possible mold.

Beware of 3 Mountains Plumbing. They'll take advantage of your lack of knowledge and your trust. I ended up paying $5,479.00 for a job that wasn't necessary, that was grossly overpriced, and that they failed to complete. This is in addition to the $2,174 job that I paid them to replace a pipe they ruptured when they snaked it. On July 20th, 2023, I hired 3 Mountains Plumbing to check for a possible obstruction in the sink of the basement. They suggested snaking it. When they did this, they broke the pipe and blamed it on the fact that it was an old, galvanized pipe. I'll never know if the pipe broke because it was old or because the twenty-something employee who snaked it didn't know how to properly operate the snaking tool. They charged us $2,174.50 to repair it. In the process, they scoped the underground pip, determined that it was “channeling”, and strongly advised us to replace it. In their estimate, they calculated that they would have to dig a 20-foot concrete trench using a jackhammer. They also said that it would take them “most of the day” to complete the first phase of the job, which consisted in finishing the installation for approval by the city inspector. Their estimate for this second project was $5,479.00. Since the underground pipe was not leaking and, according to the plumber, it would take one or two years for it to leak and cause any damage, it wasn’t an urgent problem needing immediate attention. Nonetheless, my partner and I decided to heed the plumber’s strong advice to complete this project. Our only condition was that they finished the job by August 10th. We clearly expressed to them that, unless they could commit themselves to completing it by this date, we wouldn’t approve the project. They accepted this condition and deadline and completed the first phase of the job on August 1st. It took them a little more than two hours to complete it (rather than most of the day) and the trench they dug was less than 6 feet long (rather than 20). Not only did they grossly overestimate the time and effort it would take them to complete the job but, on top of it, they failed to complete the job by August 10th. They refused to adjust the inflated estimate when I pointed out this large discrepancy between their estimate and the job they actually did. I ended up hiring a different company to finish the job 3 Mountains Plumbing failed to complete on time. The plumber who finished the project commented that it was poorly done and unnecessary because the old underground pipe they urged me to replace was still in good shape. So I ended up paying $5,479.00 for a job that wasn't necessary, that was grossly overpriced, and that they failed to finish on time. This is in addition to the $2,174 job that I paid for the old pipe they ruptured when they snaked it. As a result of their negligence and abuse, I decided to file a complaint with the Oregon Department of Justice.

Over the years I have used 3 Mountains plumbing for various projects and found them responsive, reasonably priced and their work high quality. However, based on my last experience I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. I purchased all of the necessary hardware for a master bathroom shower replacement. They were booked out a month but it wasn't an emergency so, no problem. This was a very simple job with direct access to all pipes from a panel in an adjacent closet. When the "Technicians" arrived they surveyed the job and spent 30 minutes in their truck writing proposals for things I did not need or want (New water heater $3,438, new tankless water heater $15,683, Shower head replacement using their hardware $2,159). They quoted me $1,659 to replace my shower head, mixing valve and trim using my hardware. I was shocked at the price but agreed to proceed, thinking I may have underestimated the difficulty of the project. It took a maximum of 2 hours to complete the swap. Simple math; !,659/2 = $829.50 / per hour !!!. After a little internet research on plumbing fees this was 2X-3X what I should have been charged. I complained to company management who pretty much said "They are plenty of other people out there who are willing to pay that amount". Unless you are willing to be ripped off DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Awful, confirmed an appointment 8 days in advance. Received a text morning of appt saying they have a high volume of emergencies and are requesting to reschedule into the next week. I said no and they said they would still have the technician come out for the scheduled appt. Waited around all day and receive a call at 4:30 saying the technician is having trouble with his truck and no will be able to come out and they will have to reschedule. I told them no. I do not recommend this company.

The first estimate was $717 ($747 with the estimation fee, see attached images). I thought the estimate seemed high at the time, and asked about it. The plumber realized he had accidentally charged us for one too many supply lines and decreased the estimate down to $634 ($664 with the estimation). That's what we paid, $664. I thought more about it afterwards and it still seemed high. We were charged $83 for each line, and the first was even more expensive. I looked them up online and Amazon has them for $5.38. The entire job took less than 1 hour. Absolutely absurd. I reached out for an explanation and was told someone would contact me within a week. I received no contact, so I asked again and was assured someone would contact me in the next business day. No response. At that point I gave up.

They left behind a lot of gravel on the street after their job in front of my house(& they were working on my neighbors house & not mine), while operating their excavator they were working very close to my car & almost damaged it, & they had to go back a second time later on to finish the job that they didn’t complete the first time(I know this because I overheard one of their workers saying this). I’d never use this company myself & would dissuade anyone from hiring them to do their projects.

3 mountains plumbing replaced my sewer line last year, but failed to reconnect the storm drain. I had some flooding in my basement over the summer, and called them to look at it. They stated the flooding was not due to the sewer line work they did and tried to sell me on replacing another small drain. I had some massive flooding this fall and called them again. I had to insist they send out a project manager to look at the situation, and he was able to determine that it was indeed their mistake that was causing the flooding. They were able to make the repairs, but then I had to call the office multiple times to have the concrete work completed in the basement. I felt all of the stress and hassle could've been avoided if they had listened to me when I called them out about the flooding the first time.

I live in the upper unit of a condominium and my downstairs neighbor alerted me of water coming from the floor of my unit through his ceiling. So my neighbor and I immediately called 2 plumbing companies that we knew were familiar with our condominium complex. However, neither of them had any immediate openings in their schedules and 1 company told me that they were not equipped to assess the issue at hand. Then I found 3 Mountains Plumbing on Angie's List. I learned that 3 Mountains Plumbing does not charge for assessments and they managed to fit me into their schedule for the next workday which was on a Monday. Jon-Marc arrived Monday afternoon. When I explained that the leak was not visible leak, he contacted a co-worker Houston to come out with a leak detector camera and a leak detector robot. Using this high tech equipment the two plumbers were able to see inside of the drain system & pinpoint exactly where the drain pipe was leaking. Both Jon-Marc and Houston were courteous and professional during the entire time that it took for them to complete the assessment. Jon Marc then provided me with 3 proposals. There was no charge for his service and I did not feel any pressure from him to accept one proposal over another or to use 3 Mountains Plumbing for the repairs that were needed. My neighbor and I were so pleased with the professionalism of both plumbers during their evaluation that we chose 3 Mountains Plumbing for the plumbing job. We opted to have them replace our old cast iron drain pipe with a new PVC pipe. The plumber arrived at the scheduled appointment time and he completed the job within a few hours. Thank you 3 Mountains Plumbing!!!

Jon-Marc Hatton from 3 Mountain Plumbing did an excellent, professional installation/replacement of our gas water heater. I was provided several options for replacement/warranties. Communication with the home office was prompt and responsive. Mr. Hatton nailed the installation in the time frame estimated. Everything worked right the first time, Total cost, including installation was very good. I'd recommend 3 Mountain to family and friends. Thank you!

Klint and the team were punctual, professional, and easy to work with. The 3 Mountain estimate is an awesome thing, Klint showed up, and carefully went over every aspect of the project, including pressure testing our water system, then...He sat down looked up the prices (showed them to us!) estimated the hours and gave us a quote ON THE SPOT!!! And yes, we hired them on the spot. The crew got everything installed in the scheduled time frame, but Murphy's Law dictates—if you are wrapping up a job at 6pm on the a Friday of a three day weekend there will be a manufacturer defect only to be discovered upon the final system check. Klint handled it and kept us up-to-date and in-the-loop and got everything done in a timely manner. We have already received a second estimate from them for the next stage of our project, and will use them for all our future plumbing projects.

They were able to auger and get the line clear and had a camera in my line, showing me where I had 3 breaks, but somehow weren't recording when they took the video so they require an additional service for $560 to jet the line and at that time they would provide me with a video. Seems like a racket that they would force you to spend so much money to get a video when they had a camera in the line! I paid $450 for the service, seems like enough to include the footage.

The work 3 Mountain did was above and beyond. In short they left no trace of their work. They replaced all exterior spigots, insulated where necessary, installed a new water line from the street and replaced nearly all the plumbing in my house. Best of all they left no trace. The holes that were dug were back filled beautifully. The outside spigots are amazing. The kitchen sink faucet is perfect. The newly installed existing insulation was put back properly. And the new water heater was installed while working around the shelves that were in my basement. Great job. Should I need to hire them again, I would.

First Alec responded...almost immediately and fixed the problem well enough that we could function. Then another crew came out and fixed it so we won't have any more problems. They were so responsive I was amazed. Alec was awesome, he explained everything, cut costs as much as he could and did a great job. It was more expensive that I had thought it would be, but I don't think it's any different than other plumbers charge.

Amazing response from Trina Curl to Steve Buck. They were quick to call back, busy initially but gave me an appointment. Nate came first he thought he figured out the leak but unfortunately the problem persisted. I paid 285$ for the initial job. I called them back again and they sent Steve out this time. He was very professional, responsible and respectful. He spent about an hour to diagnose the problem and fixed it. I was very happy with this team and will call them again if I ever need them.

I'm a fairly "handy" guy, but I had two toilets that were flushing slowly and using the plunger didn't resolve the problem. I hired 3 Mountains plumbing based on their online reviews, and they were super-organized and responsive. "Frankie" arrived right on time and told me my toilets needed to be replaced, not cleaned-out, due to age (circa 1990). He prepared two bids on his tablet to install two toilets either purchased from them or "customer provided". $1,691.00 to install toilets they provided, or $850.00 to install toilets I provided. A quick trip to the plumbing supply shop confirmed they were quoting MORE THAN DOUBLE the retail price I'd pay (and you gotta know they're buying product for less than retail). My bigger problem is the labor quote. If you're the type of person that walks onto a car dealership and pays the sticker price, stop reading now. 3 Mountains Plumbing is perfect for you. They quoted $850.00 to install (2) toilets. I've installed a toilet before, I've watched a couple YouTube videos, and I called 2 other plumbers for an estimate. 3 Mountains was so much more expensive than anybody else I talked to that it was unbelievable. I explained that even if I allowed 1 hour per toilet install, that would work out to $425.00 per hour. They responded that they don't charge by the hour, they "flat-rate" it. Was that supposed to make me feel better? For comparison purposes, MP Plumbing quoted me the exact same toilets with an installed price that was $600.00 lower. They don't know me, I wasn't getting any special deal, that was just their over-the-phone quote. So you have to ask yourself, "Is it worth paying a 54.29% premium to work with 3 Mountains Plumbing?" Personally, I'll buy my own toilets and install them myself before I'll let somebody take advantage of me. As the women working in the Plumbing aisle at Home Depot said, "What's the big deal? It's two bolts and a water supply line!" Then with a sly smile she said "I'll install both for $750.00!" Yeah, I'll bet she would...

Our major plumbing issue was a problem with a pump in our sump-pump system. While we were going to have a plumber out, I asked him to look at a few small jobs on top of this such as a leaky laundry faucet and so on, much of which I can do myself. Their front-end interactions are great with excellent appointments clerks. However, they cancelled the first appointment they made just hours before they were due out (citing a "family emergency", but reading other reviewers with similar experiences, methinks a fib may have been told). Anyway, Klint comes out for a $30 fee to look at the job. All professional. Then goes to his truck to work up my "options". "Oh, boy", I thought. Options for a little straightforward and simple jobs sounded like code for bend over. 10 minutes later he appears with his notebook computer and quotes $820 for 1) Spending a few minutes to try and clear some buildup around a drain in a concrete sink, but if that fails to fix it then they'll call in a drain specialist for a quote; 2) Fix a leak in a simple faucet (likely just washers); 3) Replace a flap in a toilet (2 minutes and a $4 part; 4) Replace a leaky hose bib outside (guessing 30-75 minutes labor and $10-20 in parts; and 5) "Pull and inspect" pump and clear intake of debris and diagnose for solutions (from prior experiences this is about a 15 minute exercise (he also quoted an additional $800+ to replace the pump, if necessary, despite these pumps costing about $340). All told, this is likely to be a 2, maybe 3 hour set of jobs with very little in the way of parts. I thanked him and paid the $30 and was glad to get as far away from 3 Mountains Plumbing as I could get.

3 Mountains Plumbing has a unique method of calculating what a job will cost. They are not a fixed hourly rate plus materials company, as are most plumbers. How they work is you establish a scheduled time for a plumber to come out. When scheduling, they ask a lot of questions about the nature of the work to be done, etc. - the same as any other plumber. The big difference is when they come, they provide a fixed cost for the work – You either agree to their charge, or you pay a nominal fee for their time and estimate. I definitely feel 3 Mountain’s method disadvantages their customers. Here’s why I feel that way: Given the difficulty scheduling a plumber in the Metro area these days (my experience was most are about 2-3 weeks out), I believe 3 Mountains takes advantage of the tight market and figures if you really need the work done, they can pretty much charge you whatever. They’re there and have the time to do the work. When, like me, your jaw drops at their cost, your alternative is scheduling with another company 2-3 weeks down the road. In our case, our dishwasher was removed the day before by a different plumber only to discover the replacement we ordered required a modification to our cabinet to fit (which the contractor who made our cabinets did the next morning - see my review for Pacific Northwest Cabinetry). We were expecting a large crew over for Thanksgiving dinner and it wasn’t really possible to schedule a less expensive plumber out before then. Besides, the plumber that was sent out by 3 Mountains thought he was only going to be performing an estimate and scheduling the work for later. Ours was his last stop before starting a week’s vacation and he was openly anxious to get home and on the road. In any regard, I did agree to the price. He did perform the work and, to be fair, did a fine job. The folks at 3 Mountains are all very nice to speak with. Interestingly, when speaking to their accountant while paying over the phone the next morning, I was told one of the owners would call me about my concern regarding their charge. I’ve waited 48 hours before posting this review and no call back from anyone at 3 Mountains Plumbing. By the way, the other plumber (The Plumbers, Beaverton) we had out the day before was equally competent and charged us $128/hour plus materials. I will never call or recommend 3 Mountains Plumbing to anyone and will gladly recommend The Plumbers as my preferred alternative. Be forewarned: 3 Mountains Plumbing has no business or ethical problems charging you $320/hour.
Description of Work: I’m writing to alert potential customers about the truly excessive charges I encountered from 3 Mountains Plumbing, which I believe must be the most expensive plumbing outfit one could possibly hire in the Portland-metro area. Their effective hourly rate for our job was $320/hour for a single journeyman plumber’s time. That’s right, $320/hour! We had 3 Mountains Plumbing install a new kitchen faucet and a new dishwasher. Both installations were quite simple and straightforward. Neither required any new or additional plumbing, etc. It took the plumber about 2.75 hours total time to install both. Their charge was $881.00 for this work.

Called company and very fortunate that I was able get a appointment after hours. Service man came and quickly informed me it was my faucet was the problem. He had a selection of faucets in his truck and I selected one and he installed and cleanup very nice after his work was complete. I would recommend them future plumbing problems. They also heave several Maintenance care plans that seem good.
