1201 COMPUTER REPAIR

1201 did fine job diagnosing and repairing my machine at a reasonable cost and time.

The work was efficient and well done. They even tried to keep me from feeling dumb for getting into the mess.

Fast, friendly, knowledgeable, Eddie even brainstormed a cheaper solution than originally thought. I won't go to anyone else in the future.

Went great. Very professional and they didn't even charge me for the assistance. Because they were so gracious, helpful, and didn't charge us I added 1201 Computer Repair to our list of sponsors for our upcoming Inner City Blues Festival. Yeah 1201!

First contacted this shop in late January with major issue on desktop and laptop computers. Got caught in a tech scam that totally corrupted both computers. 12:01 was able to clean up all the problems (and there were many!), reinstall necessary programs and anti-virus and malware software within the stated 5 business days. This group is a joy to work with, very responsive and professional and pleasant. Then in March had to take the desktop computer back for more help (husband had tried to fix keyboard problem and then we had no keyboard at all! Once again, 12:01 very efficiently fixed this problem and again cleaned up some additional security issues. I recommend this shop without reservation for big or small fixes!

Check-in process included clear explanation of possible charges & signing an agreement that stipulates they will protect confidentiality of material on the PC. The person at the front desk gave a 3-7 day window for completing service. In fact, they found the problem immediately & had the needed hardware on hand, and the repair took 1 day. When I came in to pick it up, the front desk connected it, turned it on, demonstrated that it was working fine. There is convenient, short-term parking in front of the shop.

We've been going to 12:01 for years. They're great! They even refer out for computer services they think someone else might be a little bit better to work with, even though those other providers provide some of the same services 12:01 provides. They're friendly, honest, efficient, and above all, they have always fixed every problem we've every brought them.

These folks were friendly, professional and informative. Discussed how it happened, what to do about it now and in the future. Made suggestions. They removed the virus, cleaned up some files and programs. Said it would take 3 to 5 days and then did it in two. Quoted me a range for repair and when done the charge was in the middle (I had thought the top end was reasonable). I'm not a strong computer person and felt that these folks actually spoke English to me and felt I learned something when they were done. Highly recommend!

I think they were fair, competent, they did a good job, they were on time, and they did what they said so it's one of those totally positive experiences.

They disassembled unit and saw that the CPU was no good. Advised us of options. Because the computer was 4 years old and the fix would be somewhat expensive, we opted to pay the service fee of $85 and have them destroy the computer. We purchased a new one and are happy with our decision not only to have taken the old one in, but to move on. 1201 was highly professional and gave us good advice. We will definitely use them in the future, if needed, and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs this type of service.

They did a wonderful job! We got a good explanation of what they would try to do and clear listing of their charges depending on the work needed to fix the drives or replace them.That was explained before any work was started. When we went to their office, they were always very professional and friendly. We got a great result and their prices were way below other company's quotes for repair.

1201 replaced the failed SATA cable and unblocked a massive airflow blockage in the cooling system. Laptop is working fine now.

Eddie went way out of his way to help me get the parts that were very difficult to find and get, then replaced the keyboard and parts on the same day for a very fair price. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. Would recommend this place for anyone who wants excellent service at a very fair price.

12:01 computers first tried re-configuring Windows8 to appear more like Windows7 but this was unacceptable and we ended up taking it back to have Windows7 installed as the default.

The repair was done in a professional manner and was entirely satisfactory. It took a while for 12:01 to get the nonglare screen for my laptop. While waiting for delivery, they gave me back the laptop with a loaner screen to use, which was helpful. The price was reasonable (and there were no surprises), and communication was very good. I will certainly use 12:01 again when I have computer problems.

It went outstanding. They had great attitudes, knowledgeable expertise, and the willingness to get it right.

Fantastic service, inexpensive and right in our neighborhood. Called ahead and spoke to Blake. He clearly explained their service and rates - $65 per hour for a drop-off, repaired within 7 days, no charge if they can't fix it. When I arrived, Blake was there to greet me and owner Justin was there to support. This was a gaming PC my son and I built over the summer. After we had moved it to a different floor in the house, it would no longer power up. I tried a brand new power supply without luck. Blake plugged it in and still nothing, then tightened some screws, re-seated the memory chips and YES brought it to life. They charged me only $25 and reassured me I could bring it back if the problem reoccurred. Great service.

The guys at 1201 gave me a couple options and I ultimately decided on buying a new tower. They took all the files from my old hard drive and transferred them to my new computer. They were great to work with, honest and straightforward. I never felt like they were trying to sell me anything, just helping me make the best decision. Even after all the work they did figuring out the problem, they only charged me to transfer the files. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to all who need computer work.

It went fine....This shop is composed of independent contractors working on a queue system. If you request a specific contractor, you may need to wait longer for the work to be completed. I requested that Justin do the work, as it was his ad on Angie's List that I responded to. The wait time was about 2-weeks.

They were great. They worked hard to figure out why the computer was having blue screen error issues and didn't give up until the problem was solved. I had a different computer repair shop look the problem over and all they wanted to do was try to sell me an overpriced computer. I have nothing but praise and great things to say about the guys at 12:01 Computer Repair. There is a reason why they are rated the best computer place in Portland.

They clearly explained the way they work (repairs are performed on first-come first served basis). With 80 repairs ahead of me, they were also clear about the time frame I could expect; they estimated 5-7 working days, and got it done in five days. They only charged me for 1 hour of labor. There was an unexpected hiccup when I got the box home and hooked it up - the firewall wouldn't come up and the Windows troubleshooter indicated there was a problem with the wired network card. I immediately called 12:01 to report the problem and we arranged for me to bring it back the next morning. Dan, who had performed the initial work, came into work 4 hours early to meet my schedule. They fixed the issue while I waited (in about half an hour), at no charge. It turned out that the issue was software related and not really related to the original problem, but they stepped up. I'd definitely use them again.

The whole thing went very well. There's not much to say. I brought my PC in they assessed the damage. They gave me a quote. That's about it.

Trusted experts at the University help desk and elsewhere had previously failed to solve the three problems I brought in to 1201 Computer Repair. To solve one of the problems, there was agreement among the 3-4 people I'd consulted that my hard disk would have to be re-imaged. When I described these problems to the genuinely friendly guy at the desk at 1201 Computer Repair, he immediately told me how they'd fix them. I nearly fell over! The others had found these to be difficult problems. And, he said, the hard disk didn't have to be re-imaged! Sure enough, they fixed everything as he said, and the repairs have held. The bill for the three repairs was less than an estimate I'd gotten elsewhere for just one of the repairs. I'm a believer now! These are my guys! I dropped by the other day to get a small thing fixed. The guy who fixed it did so while I waited. I asked, "How much?" He said,"Nothing." I said, "You've got to eat." He said, "It's after hours. We don't charge after hours." If you live in Portland, feel fortunate - that's where these guys do business!

I dropped my laptop off for repair and it was complete a day or two later. It works perfectly and I am very pleased with the service.
