Description of Work: My heat pump was installed by Thews in the spring of 2010 and we have had several problems because of less than professional installation. They have repaired all of them without charge. The last issue was a poorly installed pad under the heat pump and this winter the heat pump slid off the pad because the pad was at an angle. It was installed that way and has gotten worse over time. They sent a young fellow out to fix it and he did it like it should have done in the first place. He was very professional and I would give him a high recommendation. Then they sent me a bill for the repair of their poor installation, which did not make me happy. If it had been our first issue it would have been different. I would not use them again for a heating system install. I am stuck with them for now because of the ten year warrantee but when it is up I'll find someone else to service it.

Accomplished in 2 days! I was impressed with their expertise and attention to detail and am very pleased with the functionality of their installation. Also pleased with my new utility bills.
Description of Work: Replaced old gas furnace/ac unit with modern 95% efficient gas furnace and ac with heat pump (lennox).

Description of Work: Before Christmas 2011, our fan blowing the hot air through the vents in the house went out. Thews came out to look at it, and the guy working on it told us the problem, that he didn't have the part and would have to order it, and that it would take a few days to get since it was around the holiday season (understandable). He was able to rig the fan so it would blow hot air but the downside was that it was constantly running. My husband and I, both working in the restaurant industry, got so busy with work, we forgot about it, until our landlord called us in the beginning of Feb asking if our fan ever got fixed because she hadn't received a bill from them. We realized that no, they had never been back to fix the fan. So she called Thews (remember, beginning of Feb) and talked with the owner, who according to her, didn't seem happy that the job wasn't fixed. Told her he would be in contact with either me or my husband in the next day or two to set up a time to fix it. On Feb 27th, the worker who had been out in Dec called my husband to set up a time to come fix it. We missed the call by about a minute, called right back, to no answer. And the worker never called us back until Feb 28th. Comes to fix the fan, and walks in to our house with the apology of "I forgot about you guys". Right now, we are experiencing 20 to 30 degree weather outside, and he decides to turn our thermostat down to below 50 degrees, which we didn't catch until this morning when we all woke up with a cough and a cold. To top it off, because of the negligence in coming to fix the problem, our bill jumped from $50 in Dec to $100 in Jan and $79 in Feb, because of the constant running of the fan. I will NEVER use this company again! Oh, I have $0.00 for how much I spent because the bill went to our landlord, so I don't know how much it was.

Each time they were out the Diagnostic cost $76.00, No credit was given for the drained Refrigerant (they had charged the unit a year earlier because it was not cooling and of course charged me for the refrigerant as well as the service call). The Mild Weather kit was NOT needed as the unit had been working for over 5 years without it, and continued to trip after the instillation. The actual problem was the "Bullet Orifice" part that was changed out on the last visit. It has been working fine both for heating and cooling since then. I feel I was way overcharged at least for the Mild Weather Kit. If the first two service people had know what they were doing, the unit could have been fixed with one service call. It was the third service person that found the real problem and corrected it. The first two service people didn't try to find the cause the just did quick patches that did not work, but I was still charged for it.
Description of Work: It took 4 Visits to find problem with Heat Pump Unit. 5/19/2010 - Unit had tripped and was not working - Did Diagnostic and reset Unit = $111.00 (Diag - $76.00, reset - $35.00) 6/9/2010 - Unit tripped again ordered Mild weather kit 6/15/2010 - Unit Tripped again, Did Diagnostic again and added a Mild weather kit, and drained off 1 1/2 lbs refrigerant = $331.00 (Diag - $76.00, MWK - $255.00) 7/26/2010 - Unit had tripped again, Did Diagnostic again, Cleaned the coils, added a new part = $206.00 (Diag $76.00, Clean - $80.00, Part - $50.00).
