Tech came out to inspect valve and determined it needed to be replaced. Left to get parts, replaced valve and inspected for leaks, found it still leaking so left to get different parts, returned with new parts and installed, checked again for leaks, found none .

I was given an estimate not to exceed $600.00. They (2 men) arrived about 8:45 AM, unloaded their equipment, and began working. They were to rent a special mower for the work, but one was not available, so they brought their own mower which the proceeded to drop off of their truck and then spent about 1/2 hour working on it to get it to run. They worked hard and the finished job was good. They finished up and were gone by 2:30 PM. They had taken two short breaks, which was good as it was a hot day. I have no complaint about the quality of work - they did a good job, but my concern was how much they were going to actually charge me. I did not receive a bill until July 30th and it was dated July 24th. The bill was for the full estimate of $600.00. The $600 estimate included the special mower which they didn't rent, so I am paying basically for two men using a string grass trimmer, and a power lawnmower for less than 6 hours. That is over $100.00 dollars per hour or $50.00 dollars per person per hour. For the type of work done - yard cleanup, this is a ridiculous fee. I had the same yard cleaned one year earlier by one individual and was charged $16 per hour. It wasn't done in one day but over a period of several days and the job was much more thorough. My total bill was around $450. I did agree to the estimate, so I have paid the bill, but I will never use this company again and would never recommend this company to a friend. The work was good, but I feel they took advantage of a senior citizen that could not do the work himself.
Description of Work: Clean up yard around house on a 90' x 100' property. Then hauled the debris away.

Response from McLaughlin Landscaping
Wow, what a punch to the gut. “Taking advantage of a senior citizen”. Pretty harsh, that is the last thing we ever want to do. We did the work as requested by the client to his satisfaction, we even double checked with him. Then we billed for no more than quoted. What the client may not have considered in our price was our time mobilizing for the project, plus it was a 50 mile round trip from our shop. We then we had to dump debris, and demobilize. Contrary to his statement, we have never received any payment for the work we did for him. This is extremely frustrating having to see this inaccurate review .
