+ -1 moreI first had a leaky roof in the fall of 2020. I called Woods Roofing and they were here within 2 hours. They patched the leak, and thankfully there were no issues after that, even after a hair-raising winter. It was obvious it was time for a new roof, and they were able to schedule me in early March 2021. The estimate was really reasonable, and we knew it would cost slightly more as some of the boards needed replacing. The new roof looks fantastic, and Micah and his partner couldn't have been more thorough and professional. As long as I live in this area I will never look to anyone else - 5 stars!!!

+ -1 moreOur nearly 40 yr. old roof was very heavily moss laden and needed 25% of the plywood sheathing replaced. Finished job in 3 days, arriving promptly every day, getting right to work and cleaning up after. The owner does the work himself along with 1 assistant. He is very knowledgeable about roof structure and was very patient explaining what needed to be done and why. He then kept me informed along the way, answering all questions and concerns. Our rural property is a challenge to maneuver around and he met those challenges.

Of the four roofers I had look at my house, Micah was the ONLY ONE who took the time to figure out my problem -- the roof was designed without proper ventilation, and the water I was getting in my walls was condensation, not a roof leak. Everyone else just wanted to slap a new roof on the house, which would have looked nice, but wouldn't have changed the fact that about a third of my roof basically had NO vents in it when it was built. So, I hired Micah to do the job over the winter. This month they got started (no rain in July), and in a week they had torn off the old roof, properly ventilated the roof structure and fixed the insulation, put down new plywood (not OSB like cut-corner roofers use), three new skylights, and new Owens-Corning shingles. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end and I love my new roof. It's also great peace of mind that it's ventilating properly now.

+ -1 moreI could not have asked for better as far as communication and workmanship. The same person who did the estimate did the work with another fellow. They came on time as scheduled and came every day until the work was complete. When a change was needed as the work progressed, they adjusted the price downward. They even came back in December and blew off the roof and gutters as a Christmas present!

He and his partner started the work on time and worked until it was completed; cleaned up very well and protected the surrounding area. No payment was required until the work was completed to my satisfaction. I am completely happy with their work and my new roof.

+ 0 moreFollowed detailed written estimate. On time for job every day, at end of day always picked up materials and disposed of them. Very knowledgeable about his craft. Very work oriented, got here and immediately started working. Superior craftsmanship, scale 1-10m rate 11. Materials high quality. We have already gotten comments on the roof on how professional it looks, and also the replaced siding that was installed. We would definitely hire Woods Roofing again.
Description of Work: House is a 1,100 sq ft Ranch. Remove all layers of old roofing down to the existing sheeting. Inspect the existing sheeting for any rot; had to replace 6 sheets of plywood on the front eves & 2 sheets on the roof. De-nail existing sheeting prep for the vapor barrier. Install new plywood to cover existing vent holes, cut new ridge venting along entire ridge & install new ridge venting along the entire ridge cap; install low profile ridge cap to match. Install 15# ASTM grade felt paper on entire roof as vapor barrier. Install pre-painted metal drip edge along all of the gutter edges; install pre-painted T-metal on all gable ends of roof. Install pre-painted metal step flashing on siding walls. Install nee base& counter flashing on chimney. Install new galvanized pip flashings with rubber boot on all pipes. Install 30 yr architectural shingles on entire roof. Install new vent for range exhaust. Also, installed siding on both gable ends of the house and the step down siding of the house.

Description of Work: This was a complicated project as the roofers could only work on the weekends, due to people working in the building. It is an 1908 house and the roof had multiple angles so could not be done in any rain. In addition, the owner Micah, had to work around a chimney repair. He did a great job of working around the other jobs and also within a very limited time frame. This required good communication and flexibility. He provided a very professional service and at the end of the job showed me other problem areas, with gutters (not in the job contract) and below the roof area that required repairs. The job was done professionally and on the time frame he predicted. And to top it off he managed to guess the weather correct every time, even when the "forecast" was different. He did a great job!!!

Micah was responsive to both phone calls and emails during the estimate phase, he kept us informed well in advance of potential start-dates for the job, his crew showed up on time everyday and left our front, back and side yards clean at the end of each day's work.Micah delivered the job right on time, and slightly under budget.I've had only compliments from my neighbors on how attractive the roof is, and on the professionalism of Micah and his team.Shortly after Micah completed the job we had a week of very heavy rains and thundershowers. I checked all throughout our attic and under our front and back porch for potential leaks, and every area was bone dry under the roof Micah installed.My wife and I highly recommend Micah Woods and Woods Roofing.

+ -1 moreMicah and his crew were extremely nice to work with. They went out of their way to be helpful, even stopping to repair a broken sprinkler head. My only complaint was that on new "barge ends" (the wooden trim on the gables) some of the roofing nails poked all the way through, making painting difficult. A year later we had some water dripping down a vent pipe in the basement and the plumber thought it was coming from the roof. Micah came out on a Saturday, checked the flashing and found no leak but recommended a sensible and cost-effective solution to the water accumulating inside the pipe. He then cleaned out the gutters so we wouldn't have to go up on the wet roof to do it. (No charge.)
Description of Work: I had new shingles put on the roof of my former house before selling it and a complete new roof (tear down of the old roof, several layers of shingles and the original wood shakes) on the house we bought. They also redid the roof of the gazebo in the garden.

+ -1 moreIt went great. Micah was referred to us by another contractor doing work at our house. It was a great referral. Micah did exactly what he proposed and answered my questions well. He was early--but that's not a complaint! He was very responsive and professional.
Description of Work: Micah replaced a 4 x 4 foot corner of my roof. This included putting down new plywood, barrier and shingles. He also replaced some of the facia board the gutters were on. He also had the gutters replaced along one side of my house (this was subbed out).
