PDX Deck and Fence did an outstanding job. Their attention to detail and fine craftsmanship was extraordinary, and truly unique in today's construction industry. Jeff is an amazing contractor, excellent communicator and punctuality makes this project of the best building experiences I have ever had. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Needed to replace my old cedar fence with a new one. Got 3 estimates and all were about the same price. PDX was the only one who offered to install pre-stained cedar fencing. Jeff was very responsive to my emails and calls and and performed all the minor changes we requested. Gave us a date for the install and showed up that morning. The overall work for our fence took 3 1/2 days. Fence looks great and I expect it to last a long time.

We had a large cedar deck and railing that needed to be replaced. We decided that we wanted Ipe hardwood with a black aluminum railing. We received bids from 4 different deck builders. When we met Jeff I knew instantly we found our guy. We loved all his ideas on the layout of the deck, the type of aluminum railing he likes to use and his expertise in working with hardwoods. He was always easy to get a hold of if we had a question and responded immediately. Plus he was the nicest guy on earth! I can't wait to have him replace our fence next year! Construction on your house can be stressful - this experience was actually enjoyable!

During a recent windstorm, just before Christmas, a large tree in our neighbors' yard fell over and obliterated a wide section of our black vinyl chainlink fence. We were desperate to get this fixed quickly, since we have two large dogs who love to escape and are a challenge to recapture. We called a handful of fencing contractors and were told it would take weeks/months before we could get on their schedules. Jeff at PDX Deck and Fence had availability to squeeze in our small (but vital to us) job, came out and gave us a reasonable quote, and he and a teammate were able to make it good-as-new. So: - Friday morning: fallen tree/broken fence discovered - Saturday: PDX Deck and Fence comes out and quotes - Monday morning: crew arrives, fixed by lunchtime. The work was well done and quick, and they even walked some more of our perimeter and "tuned up" some other additional areas of our fencing where they found things had been slightly distorted or out of alignment. And all of this was on 12/21, when most of our minds were on pre-Christmas prep. Highly recommended. Thanks for your service!

Jeff and his crew were great! Clear and comprehensive estimate provided, work done on schedule. They arrived on time each day, worked hard, and cleared up the work site at the end of the day. Accommodated our needs to keep the dogs contained. The quality of the work was excellent, and there was careful attention to details. Results exceeded expectations, with a few extras added, with no additional cost. Could not have asked for a better experience.

I am VERY happy with this company and the work they did on my fence. I got six different bids and chose them because... their bid was very fair and I felt very comfortable working with Jeff. We arranged a work date two weeks out. The owner, Jeff, is very easy to get a hold of via email or phone. The guys that worked on my project were very nice, had great attitudes and answered all of my questions. They were genuinely proud of their work. My fence is now the talk of the neighborhood. I would highly recommend them.

Received a reasonable verbal quote for tearing down the old fence and replacing it with a new one. Took a few days to get the actual quote in writing (via email), but once that was received and agreed on the quote, we were able to schedule the work. It only took their crew two days to replace our fence. They did a fantastic job and the their work areas afterwards were clean. The fence looks great. Highly recommended! When it's time to replace our deck, they'll be the first one we'd call.

We had a 20 year old deck that was rotting and needed to be replaced; we wanted to make some modifications when we rebuilt the deck. Jeff was great to work with; he listened to our ideas, and worked with us to come up with a new design that we are thrilled with! He and his crew were extremely friendly, did very good work, and cleaned up after themselves. The deck looks amazing, and we will enjoy it for many years. Right after the deck was completed, we had issues with the boards warping and snapping the screws that were used to fasten it (this was a Timber Tech deck). We also had issues with several of the light fixtures not working that were installed as part of the deck. Jeff worked to get these fixed, and eventually had to replace all the screws in the deck (apparently Timber Tech required a specific type of screw to uphold their warranty). He also replaced several of the lights. This process took a couple months to finally complete. We have not had any issues since these were taken care of, and Jeff was very considerate during the whole process. But it was a hassle to deal with throughout the summer. In the end, I believe the issues were due to new materials that we selected from the manufacturer. I would not hesitate to use Jeff again in the future.

Jeff responded to first phone call immediately, and was able to come out for an estimate the next day. He arrived on time, and provided recommendations and explanations on the overall process. His quote was within expected range for the job, and we were able to schedule the two day install for the next week. The crew showed up at the agreed upon time, and removed the old fence and set the posts for the new fence on the first day, despite the delivery of the lumber being late. The second day, the crew arrived on time, but had to work on one of the rainiest days of the year. The entire backyard turned into a large mud puddle and made it very challenging for the crew to work. Despite the obstacles, the crew was able to complete the majority of the fence on the second day, but ended up needing another half-day to finish the job. We are very pleased with the end result, and appreciative of the hard work the crew put in to get this project done in a timely manner, despite the weather. Jeff is very professional, punctual, and accommodating. We would recommend this company to others, and hope to work with them again in the future.

When the recent windstorm blew several large tree limbs across my back yard fence and broke it down, I looked on Angie's List for a nearby fence repair shop with a long list of positive recommendations. PDX Deck and Fence responded to my phone call quickly and provided a reasonable estimate after Jeff, the owner, came out to inspect the damage. Jeff and the crew arrived right on time and worked quickly. The final bill was less than the estimate because he ended up not having to replace as many fence posts as he originally thought. The work is first rate, and I would use them again.

We called for 3 bids to have the portion of our 23 year old fence replaced after it blew down on the wind. Jeff came out promptly and gave us a very reasonable bid, so much so that we upgraded to add 2 extra sections and a decorative top. The workers arrive on schedule and completed the job in 1 day. I am very happy with my new fence and have had many compliments from our neighbors. I would highly recommend PDX Deck and Fence. Jeff is very personable and easy to work with.

I wish I could give A+ across the board. This was a great experience from start to finish. Jeff and his crew are amazing. Jeff offers many great suggestions to change a plain deck to something artistic and beautiful. I was so impressed on the initial visit when Jeff told me not to re-do the steps between levels of our yard. He told me the steps would cost $5000 and that I should spend the money towards re-landscaping my yard to terrace it. He told me it would soften the look and would be a better improvement than adding more wood. He could have encouraged me to give that money to him but he went for a better overall look for the yard as a whole. How impressive! The process of adding the deck was flawless and so fun. The crew was fabulous; hardworking, meticulous, and detail oriented. They cleaned up every day and were so fun to have around my house for 8 days. I was consulted throughout the process and was able to change a few minor things as we saw how the deck progressed to make some improvements. The final product is really beautiful. I look forward to using this space for many years to come. I wish I could add another deck somewhere because Jeff and his guys are so great to work with. I would recommend them to anyone without reservation.

I would have been fine with him telling me that he was not interested in doing the job for me but am disappointed that he just dropped it altogether. I don't feel that it was a very professional way to handle the situation.

Wow! Jeff and his team are artists when it comes to fences and I wouldn't have thought someone could take such pride when installing a new fence. Although our primary contact was Jeff, Rick was the contractor who installed the new fence and he did an exceptional job. We actually had them out to originally replace only one side, but they did such an amazing job, we had them come back a month later and do the other side! I would definitely recommend PDX Deck & Fence to family & friends and will most likely use them when our back fence needs to be replaced in the future! Exceptional quality, service and expertise!

I saw some previous fences built by PDX Deck and Fence driving around different neighborhoods and liked what I saw. Called Jeff to come out and give a quote. Came out the next day and had a quote in email a little while later. Decided to hire them to do the fence. I had to push the schedule back a few days, and they were able to work around that. The guys came over promptly on Saturday morning, did the work they could for the day and came back Sunday to finish up. These guys were professional and courteous. The fence turned out MUCH better than I thought from pictures I had seen. I would use these guys again for any other fence project I had. Thanks again for a quality job!

Jeff and the PDX Deck and Fence crew were all very professional and did a great job replacing my old beat-up fence that had fallen down. The estimate process was easy and they were significantly lower than 2 other bids. The quality of the fence is top notch and we were pleasantly surprised to get a top cap, which apparently makes the fence more structurally sound. Plus it looks great! Jeff even was patient with having to deal with the property management company associated with our neighbor. I would definitely use them again!

Jeff showed up on time for our appointment and walked and measured the property with me. When I told him that the first bidder had a different measurement than him, he re-measured just be sure. He demonstrated a great deal of knowledge and explained details clearly. He was able to point out two houses in my neighborhood that had fences by him. He drew a diagram and detailed the price and measurements of each section plus the total cost for tearing down the old fence and hauling it off. Because I was replacing over 200 LF of fence he included 2 free $150 gates in the estimate because I had the Angie's List coupon. This was the second of three bids I obtained. The first bid was way out in left field from the other 2 bids. Jeff's bid was a bit less than the third bid. I ended up choosing the other bid since there were details in materials and construction that I felt would make for a fence that would better meet my needs. These included boards thicker than standard, posts being sunk deeper and erected closer to one another than standard, alternative options for posts/post footings with longer projected lifespans, and reinforced gates. There was also differing opinions between the two providers as to which is better: Fir rails or cedar rails? Wet set of concrete or dry set of concrete? On these factors I listened to both sides and then researched on my own to reach my own conclusion. When I sent him follow-up e-mails regarding a lot of these specific details, he responded very quickly. I believe Jeff would have put up a fine looking fence for me and I'll keep him in mind when I'm ready to update or more likely replace my current deck.

He brought two helpers and they were very professional, prompt, and the installation work was great. The price was also good compared to three different companies I looked into.

Materials and crew appeared as scheduled. The team was professional and courteous and they performed the work and clean-up as promised. Everything went according to plan and as I said earlier, the new fence and gate are both attractive and sturdy. I would definitely use this provider again.
