Pat's Pound & Pour were hired on a job as a subcontractor, so I didn't choose them for the job, but I am very happy they took it. They did a really great and thorough job getting a massive amount of backfill and compaction done for a my garage, and then beautifully finishing the slab. I had a very tight timeframe and Pat was able to squeeze my job in within my deadlines.
Description of Work: Prepared and compacted a base for a garage slab, poured and finished concrete slab.

The flat work was done good, however the steps needed to be redone as they were not quality workmanship. They did come and repair by slathering on another coat of mix, leaving the steps somewhat rough.
Description of Work: We had them pour a new walkway and steps

They were easy to schedule with for an initial site visit and estimate; even willing to come out evenings and on weekends. The crew was punctual and organized. They were also very attentive and respectful of our landscaping and worked to minimize the impact to the surrounding areas of our yard (avoiding plants and sprinkler heads). The finished result is an attractive patio and walkway, and now that we've had time to enjoy it and can comment on how it's held up, I can tell you that that it still looks wonderful. Most importantly, the cracking has followed the seams and it drains correctly. We’re very happy with our patio and recommend you consider Pat’s Pound and Pour.
Description of Work: We had Pat's Pound & Pour install a new patio in our backyard and a walkway with steps along the side of our home late last summer. The total job was about 1000 square feet and took a couple of days. In addition to the typical concrete prep work (setting wooden forms), the crew pulled up some existing grass, compacted and leveled the ground. Then they returned about a month later to seal it.

Pat was great to work with. He provided a good price, he was flexible on scheduling, and did a very professional job with the actual concrete. The whole team was polite and professional. They did exactly what they said they would when they scoped the project. I will definitely use them again, and recommend them to friends and family. Pat came recommended to me from someone in the home construction industry.
Description of Work: I had Pat expand an existing patio, add a step out from the house, and replace a paver walkway with a concrete walk at my in-laws house. They removed the pavers and stacked them where I requested, dug out the patio expansion area, and poured the concrete.

Our neighbors were having concrete done in a section of their front yard and driveway apron. Since our driveways are next to each other they asked us if we would want to replace our driveway and other concrete at the same time. They had had their main driveway done by this company a few years previously and highly recommended them, so we agreed. Pat pointed out some problem areas that we hadn't noticed, and are glad we did the extra work all at one time. They dealt with the city regarding permits and inspectors, which we know from past experience can be time consuming The driveway and other areas look great. Communication could have been a little better, but overall it went very well and we are very happy with the end result.
Description of Work: replaced and increased size of old driveway and apron, replaced sidewalk from driveway to the porch, replaced part of public sidewalk that crosses the driveway and added sidewalk to side of garage going to the back yard.

My driveway, front steps and walkway were in dire need of replacement, and I wanted a contractor who could provide a nice looking, professional job. I rode my bike past a house in the neighborhood where a driveway was just being completed. The finish looked great, along with plenty of joints for crack control, so I spoke with the crew about getting an estimate. Pat Sheaffer responded immediately and came over to the house to discuss my project. I asked Pat to break the price into several pieces because I wasn't sure I could afford to do all of the work I wanted done. To my delight, the total price was very reasonable and affordable so I asked Pat to replace the whole driveway. Pat worked with me to do the job during a time when I could be at the house. His crew arrived early one morning and went to work right away. It took them less than two days to break up the old concrete, excavate and set the forms for the new concrete. The crew identified some drainage problems and came up with some good suggestions to configure the new driveway so the water would drain all the way from the garage in back of the house to the street. It was a great solution to water problems I had been living with for years. Pat was careful to schedule the concrete for a day when the weather was cooperative, and the crew returned to place and finish the concrete. By two o'clock the work was finished and protected. The finish work was outstanding, all lines were straight and true, the brush finish looked great, the joints were even and consistent - I couldn't ask for a better product! Pat offered to give me an old-fashioned wavy finish on the front steps and walk, and his finisher delivered! The crew took great care to protect my and my neighbors' property during the work, and repeatedly asked if I was happy about how things were going. I am extremely pleased with the whole experience and delighted to be able to write an outstanding review. Pat's family-owned and operated business (Pat's two brothers and his son all worked on the job) is just the type of company I like to have work on my house. They were professional, courteous, prompt and very organized. They did everything they said they would do - and them some! Great job! I highly recommend them! Reed McDowell, Civil Engineer
Description of Work: I had the concrete driveway replaced, along with new footings for the columns which support the carport roof at my Northeast Portland home. I also had the front steps and concrete walkway replaced.

We needed a new driveway. We had water pooling and a very cracked, old driveway in NE Portland. I saw a crew put in a new driveway about 3 blocks away and it was beautiful and it seemed like it was done very quickly. When that job was done, a sign was posted with the company's name who did the work. I called them. That company, Pat's Pound and Pour responded immediately and from the first contact, were very responsive. We had some additional work that needed to be done and Pat had another person he works with a lot, Ted Rudiger, take out about a 35' laurel and put in a large dry well. That work, along with the entire driveway project was done professionally and with a lot of care. We have a neighbor we wanted to respect and make sure that nothing on her property was damaged. The crew was respectful and very careful througout the project and our neighbor, who is conserned with what happens on her property, was very pleased with everything that was done. The crew put in rebar and measured everything very carefully to deal with the drainage issue of all driveways. The driveway has a little upward, but suttle, sway on our neighbor's side so she will not get any of our water drainoff. The driveway also slopes away from the house and all the water goes into the dry well from the highpoint to the drywell. From the highpoint to the end of the driveway (a shorter distance) they put in a small french drain right next to the driveway to protect our neighbor's property from water drainage also. The driveway is simply beautiful AND it works! All the water from a recent hard rain went right into the drain and we had no water pooling. The driveway is not 100% cured yet (just one week old) but we expect it to cure and be beautiful for a long time! Thanks Pat!
Description of Work: Removal of 35' laurel, new brushed concrete driveway, installed a 9' deep drywell & help with dry rot issue.
