About us
Northwest Carpet Care has been a high quality carpet cleaning and restoration company servicing the Greater Portland area since 1990. Our experience is second to none, cleaning over 56,000 carpets during these 20 years. We are a local family owned company that relies solely on the referrals of our existing client base for continued growth. We do not rely on franchisees or subcontractors to complete our work. We do not offer ridiculously low bait and switch offers to get prospects. All job sites are inspected, and thorough written quotes provided before work is started. All workmanship is 100% guaranteed. Typical cleaning work falls into one of two categories: 1) General maintenance hot water extraction, or 2) Rotary DriJet restoration hot water extraction. Both are completed using state of the art Van Mounted Hot Water Extraction equipment. Our Standard General Maintenance cleaning utilizes traditional pre-spray and hot water extraction with a cleaning "wand". This is very affordable and an excellent choice to MAINTAIN your carpet's appearance and health. For areas that show zero to mild wear and soiling, this service is always recommended to achieve an excellent cleanliness factor while keeping the costs down. Rotary DriJet Restoration cleaning is recommended for areas of carpet that have more severe build up, staining, and wear. Five extraction heads spin over the carpet finishing 600 passes per minute, deep cleaning even the heaviest grime and wear out of the carpet yarns. The vacuum action is constant so this method not only revitalizes the pile and color, but is dry in just a few short hours. Depending on conditions, the upstairs of two story homes are dry by the time we are loading up our truck when finished. The equipment and skill required for this work is expensive and the process takes more time than a Standard Maintenance cleaning so one should be prepared for a higher estimate for this kind of work. PRICING: Standard Maintenance cleanings for for four areas plus a hall and a regular flight of stairs are typically around $150. Rotary DriJet for the same are usually about $225-$250. We are always available for friendly chat on the phone to try and estimate your needs, and free on site written quotes are possible by appointment. We have 0 travel or mileage fees or any other hidden charges. We also specialize in severe carpet restoration for carpets with terrible pet urine damage, wrinkling and torn carpet, permanent stain removal, and worn pad replacement. On site appointments are required for an accurate quote for these types of issues. We are happy to move sofas , tables, and chairs around and back if you need the assistance and plastic protectors are used where needed if furniture is returned to damp carpet. We carefully edge around beds, dressers, entertainment centers, china cabinets, etc. In order to keep our pricing so affordable, we ask that the client pick up and arrange all breakable items, nik naks, toys, and clutter off the floor and table tops that are to be moved BEFORE we arrive for the cleaning. All of our cleaning methods (except severe pet treatments) allow for immediate traffic with clean rubber soled shoes, sneakers, or slippers. Standard Maintenance cleanings are usually dry to the touch within 24 hours, and Rotary DriJet cleanings areas are usually dry within 4 - 8 hours depending on conditions. Close access to the carpet from a driveway or street parking is required. Our vans must have uninterrupted hose access within 200 feet of the furthest portion of cleaning. While we can accommodate some condominiums, we DO NOT service apartment complexes. Please call for details. "We regret that this wasthe member's experience. A review of her file indicates that complete and thorough explanation of the company policies were unavailable due to the phone transcription service for deaf person's limitations. Taking her at her word, the work crew assigned to her job were not focused on her needs, nor did they perform their tasks to the standards of NWCC. Jobs of her dimensions typically take 1-2 hours to complete. There is no record of the customer calling or emailing to report her dissatisfaction. Our office was unaware of her complaint. The crew that serviced this job has not worked for NWCC since May of 2007. The member is invited to visit www.nwcarpetcare.com to post an email to us and she is eligible for up to $135 credit for an appointment for cleaning (nearly four years later). We hope to hear from her again."
"The member was serviced 9-27-2006. Her call record on file indicates she dictated we would be cleaning 8 areas plus a flight of stairs, all in decent maintenance condition. Upon arrival, the member added seven more areas to her order and custom cleaning on natural fiber area rugs. Her carpet was heavily damaged and not in any way maintenance condition and she agreed to have restorative work completed. Her total on site estimate was 1000.00 for 15 areas plus stairs, area rugs, and rotary dri jet restoration work for over 1500 additional square feet. The member baited NWCC to come out for an appointment that had certain exact parameters, and she switched those parameters at the job site, believing we would be obligated to do much more work than originally requested by phone - for free. NWCC does NOT employ bait & switch tactics to entice clients, and NWCC is not obligated to fall victim to consumer's bait & switch tactics to demand free services. The members own AL grading shows that the work a complimentary grade for quality. The member's file shows NO record of calls or internet contact with a complaint or concern. While we regret the member's opinion as stated here, NWCC reserves the right to let any and all prospects know that large jobs with large amounts of custom problems take time, expertise, and hard hard work to be completed properly and cannot be completed to our high standards with cheap and quick methods. None the less, NWCC is happy to offer the member a full 25% discount for the same work and charges on her next cleaning."
"This client is/was a small business roofing contractor that understood from the very beginning how to manipulate other small businesses by false claims, threats, and intimidation to get work for free. The carpet was cleaned with WATER, so the claim of chemical burning was nonsense. The carpet was severely soiled and pre existing substances from the carpet backing and/or pad came to the surface after the cleaning. NWCC, the crew in question, and the method used has not caused problems mirroring the customer's claim on over 56,000 jobs. Many different phone calls and visits with the OWNER of NWCC met with poor results. There were no problems with the carpeting. Damage that could be construed as carpet problems were pre existing, and, in the end, this customer was simply trying to get new carpet by strong arming another small business. NEVER did the owner threaten the customer with ANY of the claims mentioned in the review. But with systems like those of AL, some people can easily use it to achieve nefarious results. After many offers to make lemonade out of the lemon this job was, the customer was invited to take their bogus claims to small claims court where the ownership of NWCC would be HAPPY to rebut them in a civil court of law. They never did so. This sort of thing happens when a company has been around long enough to service over 56,000 customers. Its truly a slap in the face but an unfortunate part of being in business."
"The member's residence was serviced by NWCC on 4-29 of 2004. Their service call included Standard Maintenance cleaning of four rooms and a hall, custom area rug cleaning, and some Rotary DriJet restoration cleaning for 177.10. Their record indicates that no complaints or concerns were logged in via mail, phone, or internet regarding this appointment. NWCC considers customer's opinions and concerns to be very very important, and we fully guarantee every job. In the course of 56,000+ jobs reservices are to be expected here and there, and we accomplish this with a smile and a thank you. Perhaps a different cleaning company came out in July of '05 with "Northwest" in its name in our place. Had the member called in '04 after the service we provided with any concerns, he would have received a free reservice that addressed each of his complaints forwarded in his review more than a year later."
"The member was serviced 11-29 of 2004 for 106.00 by NWCC that included high quality van mounted hot water extraction with a little restoration work. There are no records of complaints via phone, mail, or internet. His reference to our company in his review above should be considered an unfortunate error. Our company minimum charge for service is $69.95 and we would not have done any work for him for a $25 fee. Once again, "Northwest" is a name that many operators now add to their company name, and Northwest Carpet Care, a company registered with the State of Oregon does not consider itself responsible for every job completed by a firms with "Northwest" included in their name. "The Member's residence was serviced on 4-11 of 2005. 5 rooms and a hall along with a flight of stairs were serviced with a combination of Maintenance Cleaning and traditional shampoo and rinse techniques. Her work order notates that her carpet was in severely damaged and unrepairable condition and that NWCC would be unable to guarantee any results. She initialed the inspection notes box on the work order acknowledging that the carpet was damaged beyond any ability to renew it. She then authorized the work to be performed. Ms. Fargo's file shows no record of any attempts to contact NWCC via mail, phone, or internet to ask for a reservice, which NWCC would have gladly provided free of charge EVEN when she knew great positive results were impossible ahead of time. NWCC strives to always get the job done as well as possible by all professional standards on the very first visit. Sometimes, carpets are so filthy, dirty, stained, worn, and damaged that no service at any price can cure its ills. For these instances NWCC can only break out the toughest and most effective methods and work available in the industry and do our absolute best. And if those efforts are not good enough, all the client needs to do is call our company, and we will try to touch up any areas that have dried to an unsatisfactory state within 30 days FREE OF CHARGE. It's our PROMISE and the way we have been doing business for over 20 years."
