Mike's Custom Concrete

Reached out to Mike on April 15 for redoing driveway and sidewalk. He was prompt in getting back to me and we set up an appointment for April 20, Friday, but then I had to reschedule. We rescheduled for the next Friday, April 27th, but he was a no show. Again, we rescheduled for Friday, May 18th, but again a no show. I kept giving him second chances since he received a grade A on Angie's List, but he really deserves a grade F. Not sure how he can run a business by not returning texts, not returning emails, and then not even showing up x2 for scheduled times for the estimate.

Mike was great to work with. Plan on using him again soon.

They did a fantastic job. I took them about a week and half to finish their job up because of the weather. We were in no hurry. They did a fantastic job. Their attention to detail was phenomenal. The crew, everybody was just fantastic to work with. I cannot give enough praise to the job that they did and how nice the people are that are working for Mike like that. It's just great people. Nice job. We were very satisfied with the work that he did. As a matter of fact, even went the extra mile. I think, for it, for what he charged us. I was expecting a slight increase in the estimate and it was right on. He sw no no I gave you my price and that's it. I have no complaints whatsoever. They replaces our entire driveway. They took out the old one. We had an enlarger, enlarging our driveway from what it was before. They did some custom stamping along the sides of it and put in a drain and actually approved the look and everything else with it. I was just totally, completely pleased, both my wife and I with their work. It was quiet a bit of work. Plus they did some work out in the back. We have a spiral stairway coming off our upper deck over here. They enlarged the landing pad off of that for us. A really nice job off of that too.

Every thing went great. Mike was good to talk to. He gave me an estimate right away. The guys working on the job were nice and did a beautiful job.

Our driveway was in terrible shape - cracked, damaged by some tree roots, awful. The apron to the street was ok. We wanted something functional but not too fancy, and wanted it widened a bit. Found out about Mike through one of my students, but also did some research and found his company on Angie's list with top ratings. Being an Angie's list believer, I felt comfortable right away in going ahead. Took only a few days to make connections and get Mike out to look at the project. He had a bid to us in 24 hours. We accepted and were able to schedule within 3 weeks at a time that worked for us, and around some other work being done to our house. Mike is the guy to call if you enjoy personal care and working with contractors and workmen who make you feel like you are working with your favorite brother. He loves dogs and kids (and sometimes brings one along with him), and isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty. He will be doing the major portion of the work, or there supervising when others are working. Mike is the kind of professional who brings a high level of competence to the job layered over with good old fashioned friendliness. He brings a level of caring to his work that you just don't find all that often. He is the first to admit that his prices are not low, but I have found from experience that you get what you pay for, and quality usually costs a little extra. That said, we did not find his bid to be excessively out of line for this type of job, and we were certainly pleased with the quality of the work and the attention to detail. He wants you to be happy and he will take the time needed to do the job the right way. The job took about 3.5 days (spread out over a week). My husband and I really love the way the driveway looks, but - more importantly, we know it been done right. It's completely reinforced with re-bar, it's sloped and graded to make sure water runs off as it's supposed to. It's also attractively shaped, widened and Mike took the time to make the scoring marks on the surface (required on all concrete work of this size to limit cracking, etc.) not only functional but attractive as well. We have some cleanup to do when the driveway is ready for traffic - filling in with dirt/gravel/plantings around the edges, trimming some bushes that fell victim to the backhoe's movements during the tear out process, but nothing that seems unexpected or unreasonable with a project like this. When you call Mike, if it takes a little time to make connections, remember - that's because Mike's out there getting the job done himself every day. You won't speak with Mike and then have some strange guys you don't know show up to do the work. Any wait you might experience will be worth the personal care you will receive when it's your turn.

Either didn't show up or did and passed on giving me an estimate. Never heard back from contractor. Great on the phone, though. Just no follow- up

It went very well. He tore the old sidewalk up, dug to required depth, laid new concrete and cleaned everything up! He was great!

He was great. He did exactly wast we wanted even thought it was not typical. We are satisfied with what he did.

Mike's help and support helped us to complete this project for a small percentage of what it otherwise would have cost. Mike has a big heart, works hard, does professional work, completed the job in the allotted time, and cares about the service and product he offers.
