We had water damage on the window sills in the kitchen and the bathroom. We decided to remove the damaged wood and put tile on the sills so they were more impervious to water. Josh was recommended to us by our realtor. The work he did in the bathroom looked wonderful, but the tile work in the kitchen was not even and didn't look professional. I take some of the blame because I didn't look closely at the work when he was finished that day. He told us he couldn't return to finish up for two weeks. With the assistance of our realtor, Josh did come out again in two weeks with another contractor and redid the tile in the kitchen. I still didn't like how one window sill looked, but I didn't want to try again. I just felt that Josh started out well, but had a hard time completing it as expected.

The project started out according to plan. We fell a bit behind schedule (as these some times do) but adjusted plans accordingly. We had consistently asked Josh about the permitting to ensure the work done would be approved/permitted. He assured us that this piece of the project had been handled. A few months after completion we began to question whether permits had been filed (JLA had ceased communication with us at this time). A bit of research uncovered that no permits were on file with the city. As we worked through the repermitting process (now with Attorneys, consultants, engineers, architects all hired to assist in what was turning into a nightmare), we found several areas where corners had been cut. I left the score as a D as I must believe that he is not an evil man. Just needs a lesson in business ethics and professionalism.
