Hidden Garden Landscape (Osvaldo Ramirez)

The first job I hired Hidden Garden Landscape to do was a small fence next to our driveway. Osvaldo and his dad did a great job for a reasonable price. The second job we hired them for was a small rock retaining wall for our front yard. The retaining wall came out great, but the relocation of the irrigation sprinklers didn't come out so well, nor did their choice to use bark in the redesigned front yard. We went with drought tolerant plants and they put bark down, which looked weird and turned the area into a hotspot for squirrels to bury their acorns and walnuts. It was a mess. The relocated sprinklers seemed to be overwatering the area and spraying the house, so I asked them to make adjustments. They took a long time to return, but overall we were pleased with the final results. Or so we thought. The last job we hired them for was a complete failure. I wanted some supports for our raspberry and blueberry bushes. I described them in detail in person. The finished product was a disaster, not close to what we talked about and the abuse to the existing plants (i.e. the entire reason for the work) was way beyond acceptable. Osvaldo did return to "fix" things, but it was still not acceptable, so I decided to fix things myself. On this job, he didn't take any notes and verbally gave directions to his team, which was different from the fence and retaining wall where he put in writing what he was going to do and confirmed sourced materials with me via text photos throughout. He didn't measure anything or provide a written work plan for the berry supports. But that's not the reason for the 1-star review: after a season of using the relocated front yard sprinklers, I noticed one section seemed to be dying off. So I reached out to Osvaldo to see if he could come and look at the work they did. I told him it appears there is an underground leak to the relocated sprinklers that is flooding and killing off the plants in the one area that I had already asked them to review and make adjustments right after they did the work. He has NOT responded to multiple messages and now I'm left trying to find someone to come fix his work. Very disappointing and not at all the kind of business practice I could ever recommend. It's even more disappointing because I referred Osvaldo to numerous neighbors after the fence and retaining wall jobs because I thought they did a good job and were very likable.
