I would not hire H&L again. There were problems with the roof installation and it was very difficult to communicate with the owner. I wonder about all the good reviews on Angies list.

I hired H&L Roofing for a new roof installation. They gave a competitive quote and they offer military discounts. The roof is great looking and so far is holding up to the windy weather we've been having. The only problem I had during this project was communication related about project scope and miscommunications between staff about what was actually in the contract so the roof installers had to return later in the week to finish a few things. They didn't offer me any choices in material type or color. I'm not sure if they offer multiple choices or not. It would have been nice to see some options. However it is understandable if they are trying to keep costs low by limiting the different types of material choices. There was a minor amount of debris left over on the ground. But such things happen when tearing off a roof with hundreds of rusty nails. Just make sure you double check everything before letting kids play in your yard again. Spray off your driveway before parking your car or even walking on it. The magnet sweep they use works 95% of the time except it missed a couple of nails and one of the rusty nails ended up in my foot.

I also would like to say thank you to Joanna for promptly taking my calls, and responding to any questions or concerns I had before hiring H&L. She was very patient with me and showed such professionalism. When the roofing crew arrived Charlie, the project manager spoke with me and showed me all of the material that was ordered for this job. He was really helpful with guiding me throughout the entire process . The crew arrived on time each day plus they completed the job ahead of schedule . This company stands behind their quality work. I couldn’t be happier that I chose to trust your company to do a job well done ! Many blessings to the entire staff and continue success with your business .

The roofing company did an excellent job on the installation of our new roof. We were provided with a clear and detailed estimate. Communication was easy and professional at all levels. The workers did a beautiful job and finished project earlier then it was planned! I would definitely recommend this company.

Excellent service. The cost was well below another from a competing service. The scheduling was flexible for the best day for my time. The work crew arrived minutes before the time I was told they would start. All work was done in one very long day for the work crew. After the big winter snow season several years ago, H&L Roofing was the only company that I could get to do a small roof repair from snow damage, even though their schedule then was overloaded. That gave me additional confidence to go with them for this roof replacement. I highly recommend them.

H&L did a great job on my roof. The cost was definitely competitive and the work was done professionally with care for my surrounding property. I would definitely recommend this company if you’re looking to have your roof fixed or replaced.

By far the best company to work with!! They got everything done exactly when they said they were and the gutters were done right the first time perfect quality work for an amazing price! Would highly recommend them to anyone in the Portland area!!

My request was misplaced; thus, it took them a couple of days to respond. The delay is why I gave them 4 stars. Once that was cleared up they were out late on the same day. The leak was repaired and I'm happy

H&L did a great job on my roof! There were some hiccups along the way but they were quick to get them resolved and make sure we were happy. It speaks volumes about a company who wants to get it done right and establish a good relationship with their clients.

I strongly recommend H&L Roofing. They did quality work for me for a reasonable price. I contacted them originally for roofing (which makes sense) but Lewis ended up giving me a bid for a new fence as well. I talked to several other contractors but H&L's bid for my fence was not only the most affordable of several that I got, but the end result is so nice that I think it's probably better than what the fancy fence and deck guys would have built. I have literally overheard passersby talking about how beautiful the fence is. Lewis and co. also cleaned and performed minor repairs on my roof and repaired my chimney - all of which was long overdue. It was great to get all that work done at once. Lewis himself is friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and helpful - I would hire H&L again for projects big and small.

My roof is in need of repairs, it’s a tricky thing, most contractors don’t have time for smaller jobs once business picks up, especially not when there’s potential liability. Lewis and his team took the time to look everything over, to answer any questions I had and even reach out for input from the guys who would be making the repairs during the bidding process. Never sales-y, never dismissive. Having been through a number of large projects, I can tell you, Communication having been through a number or projects is as important as skill or price. These guys are the whole package.

The crew had an excellent work ethic. Evertone show up to work. I was promised that they would have my new roof on in 8 hrs before the rain got here. It turned out that my roof was a 4 layer tear off and needed 45 sheets of plywood installed. This crew got it all done and cleaned up before night fall and the rain. I am so impressed with this Company and the crew I would hire them again and I would definitely referrer them. I give them an A+++++
