Had to pay to have it rechecked. Inducer Motor was fine. It was a Lennox Furnace and the Heat Exchange was under warranty. This VERY pleasant gentlemen wrote the serial number incorrectly so as to make things a little more difficult to check. Then I was told verbally (but VERY Pleasantly) That it would cost me $3,500 for repairs. Their professionalism was exemplary. If paying them is based on how PLEASANT they were they are winners. However, I don't like being ripped off no matter HOW sweetly they do it!!!
Description of Work: According to the Technician (who by the way, was extremely pleasant). I needed a new Inducer Motor and a new secondary heat exchange.

We appreciate your feedback and regret any misunderstanding. We did indeed find that the heat exchanger was in need of replacement as was the inducer motor. To support our diagnosis we did take pictures and shared those results with you. When we contacted Lennox to inquire about your furnace they provided the replacement information for both parts, however since we are not Lennox dealers they failed to inform us that your heat exchanger was under warranty which is why you were quoted the price that we gave. We are happy to provide the pictures that we shared with you to any other service provider to ensure that all of your furnace concerns are met. Had we been informed by the manufacturer of any kind of warranty we would have gladly assisted you in that process as we have for so many of our clients. Our company does not look to take advantage of anyone as you can see from other reviews, and believes in providing quality service to encourage long term relationships with our clients. We wish you well and hope that you are able to find a service provider that will ensure that your system is working at its best.

Paul really listened to what I hoped to accomplish, my concerns and offered suggestions in the initial quote visit. I did have other quotes, however I thought Paul and Kellie were the most thorough and attentive to my specific needs. Paul and his crew member worked diligently to place the outside unit on my RV pad instead of the flower bed even though it took more material and time. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the pipe/wire cover looked on the siding. I was given the opportunity to make changes before the installation began. Paul made sure I understood the remote, recycled my old wall heater and cleaned inside and out before leaving. I would recommend Chase Heating based upon my experience.

I found Chase through research online and finally found the HONEST, knowledgeable HVAC contractor I was looking for! My new Trans HVAC was installed by Sky Heating and never worked right following their installation of the ac. After countless visits, 5 thermostats and HUGE headache trying to get Sky out, even though we paid for a 5 year workmanship warrantee they wouldn’t come out!! Best thing that could have happened to us! Paul can out from Chase, diagnosed and corrected the problem which was an incorrect wiring installation. Since that time Chase has done warranty work on our air filter and ac system. Kelli made all the calls necessary to make sure the work was covered and the work was completed quickly and without a mess left behind. I found this company to be the best HVAC contractor I’ve worked with! As a former safety and health professional ive worked with nearly 50+ HVAC contractors so this is really saying something! The cost has always been kept low and reasonable, we’ve never felt overcharged! If honesty, integrity and quality knowledgeable work is something you’re looking for in an HVAC contractor-look no further!

I have hired this company before to replace our gas furnace about 8 years ago and was very pleased with his work . I called them to install whole house air conditioning. They were able to make the appointment within a week of my call. He is very punctual and had had the electrician come earlier to do the electrical work. Everything went smoothly and it was installed that day.. He left the house very clean. They are my go to company

I had over 7 estimates from various local companies in Portland. Chase provided a very competitive quote and they were just superb from the time they gave us an estimate thru the installation process. We ended up choosing Chase because they were able to work with our 100 amp panel (while the majority of other contractors just suggested we install a new electric panel for $1500-2000). Chase had worked in other older houses with similar issues. However, given their experience they were able to work with an electrician and clean up our electric panel and accommodate our new AC. Best part of the service was their professionalism, these guys came in the morning as expected, put down mats so as not to mess our house, they were fast, removed some old rusty pipes in our basement that were no longer used (they didnt have to do that), they completed the job on time and i was left with the impression that these were the most professional contractors that we have dealt with since we moved to our house. Don't even hesitate to hire them. Outstanding service!

We've used Chase for many jobs over the years, on our Rentals and our own home, and have never had a bad experience. We trust them completely. They are knowledgeable and friendly, and will give you a fair price, show up on time, and clean up after themselves. They are usually easy to schedule, and will do what they can to get to emergencies ASAP. If you need something RIGHT NOW, and they are too buried to get to your job themselves, they will refer you to another company that is equally good.

They were quick to schedule a time to evaluate the work and give a quote and were able to get us on the schedule quickly. Their quote was both reasonable and lower than others I had received. Paul was friendly, professional, and most importantly did the work well. Everything was done quickly and cleaned up well. It was such a simple and easy process, which is welcomed experience. I would definitely hire them again.

They were very good. They came out it was a very small company family owned. They were very honest about what they could do and what they couldn't do. The price, and they'd stuck with the price exactly. They were there on time, did all the work, very clean about it and just to follow up and everything. It was just excellent. I would use them again in the future.

Paul was both knowledgeable and professional. He also took the time to explain why the leak happened and the fake fix from the other company who never fixed it. He showed up on time and did the job perfectly. I appreciate his honesty and will make sure that everyone knows about him. These days it really is hard to get honest people for anything. He charged me exactly what was quoted and did quite a bit of extras for the fixing the leaking pipe at no extra charge.

Chase Heating and Cooling was FANTASTIC!! I am not even sure where to begin!! I had a terrible experience with another company and had almost given up getting my AC repaired at all. The original company ended up billing me almost $2000 after telling me the system (only 2 years old) was damaged and coils needed to be replaced. The technician also told me it would likely not be covered by the manufacturer unless I paid for a 3 year service agreement with them. I paid and then decided I wanted a second option - this after they took the coil out of the AC unit. About an hour later I asked for a refund and that's when I called Chase.... I called Chase and spoke with Kelly, explained my situation, and she immediately went in to problem solving mode. Her husband Paul was booked up but she managed to get me in within 7 days. He arrived and was incredibly knowledgeable and courteous and explained what was going on and everything he needed to do. He was apologetic about my experience with Pyramid because he felt that it made a bad impression in the industry. Within 4 hours Paul had the system up and running AND it was $600 instead of $2000. I will recommend Chase to anyone who asks and will post to Angie's List and Facebook to make sure everyone I know uses them for any issues they may have.

Kelli and Paul were awesome to work with, from the first call to installation. I was kept up on time frames, product comparisons, the installation process and what to expect from installing this type of system. They were reliable, professional, knowledgeable, competitive and when faced with being a bit late for the install (not their fault - the unit hadn't arrived when expected), called several times to keep me updated on an ETA. They were prompt and prepared with new ductwork ready to install, had the equipment, tools and manpower to make it an efficient and complete job. Paul made recommendations and looked over the older furnace, and declared it OK. I didn't feel like I was being pushed towards a new furnace. I'll give Kelli and Paul a shout in a year to clean the furnace, and when I need a new unit.
Description of Work: From research, I found that a whole-home air purification system would go a long ways towards helping deal with my family's asthma and allergy problems. Installed in-line with the furnace/ac system, the electronic filtration unit + UV combination eliminates dust, allergens and bacteria, especially important in an old PDX home like mine. I found that an AprilAire system was the most effective and recommended by contractors and Consumer Reports.

He found the cause of the leak, nailed down the vents and fixed the leak for no charge. He upgraded the?duct work?as well in the attic at no charge. He then installed a 90% efficiency Trane gas furnace at a reasonable price. He was timely and I was well informed and he was willing to do many extra things. I am very happy with the job. I used them again and everything was satisfactory.

So, from the very beginning I had a great experience with Chase Heating. When I called to get an estimate, the woman who answered the phone was very friendly and helpful (Kelly, I think). We got Paul scheduled to come out that day at noon. Amazingly, he was right on time which is such a plus when you have to run home from work for something like this. Paul quoted the gas line which was much less than some others had said. He also asked if I'd like him to look at my furnace, which was nice because I wanted the furnace cleaned but had forgotten about it. He said he'd get me the quote later that night. Well, I got an email that afternoon and all together the quote came in at $527 for both the line and service. I called and scheduled the service with Kelly who said they had an opening that Friday morning. I said great, cause I had already bought the range and it was sitting un-hooked up teasing me with its gas-cooking goodness in our kitchen. Two techs showed up Friday morning bright and early (on-time again!) and after I showed them what went where, I went to work. When I got home, the work was done. However, there was a problem in that the pipe was a bit too long to push my stove all the way back. I called Chase and told Paul what the issue was. He said no problem he'd be out the next day and get it fixed. Well, like everything else in this experience, Paul and Chase did exactly what they said. Oh, and the kicker to all this: final bill was actually less than the quote!

I checked Angie's and called Chase Heating in the late afternoon. The woman who handles the office took me through a few questions to make sure I couldn't resolve the problem myself, without a service call. Then she scheduled us for the next morning. This was my first contact with Chase. It left a good impression. Paul Shearer (technician, also the owner) came out promptly, swiftly diagnosed the immediate problem (final burner was not igniting), and then checked the furnace over to identify any other issues. He resolved the main problem, gave the furnace some needed internal cleaning, and pointed out some things that I should keep an eye on for the future. He was finished after about an hour and honored the Angie's List $20 coupon. There was a minor cost over and above the service call minimum, due to the additional maintenance that was performed. I was completely satisfied and expect to use Chase for our next maintenance.
Description of Work: Service call. Our high-efficiency gas furnace was coming on but then shutting down before any warm air came out the vents. The furnace is about 15 years old. This is the first repair it has required. Chase Heating made a standard service call, diagnosed the problem, resolved it, and gave the furnace some overdue general maintenance.

Paul was very professional. Cool headed and ready to help make this furnace work for us just the way we wished. He was ever ready to be flexible with his time and to accomodate small but important changes as the work progressed (like re-scheduling to finish the project so that the water-lines could be moved to make the use of space ideal). The end result was not just a working furnace/air filter but a truly well designed duct system which maximized the basement's space. I would not hesitate to hire CHASE HEATING for future heating/cooling jobs.
Description of Work: The owner, Paul, was one of 5 companies from which we solicited bids. All companies were of good quality and bids were not too far apart cost wise. We chose Paul because he made a compelling presentaion as to what he would accomplish for us. Further he was the only company which offered Trane furnaces from the get go. After some research I felt that Trane was the company for me as far as Furnace manufacturers went. We also had an upgraded AprilAire whole house filter system installed with this as well. Our 1912 Craftsman bungalow still had the old "octopus" heating system (upgraded sometime before us to gas from wood). It was huge, inefficient and had asbestos wrapped ducts. Paul and his helper Jesse removed the old stuff quickly and efficiently and left a clean job site. As we were working with several different contractors on various projects Paul was amenable to getting to the work in several stages to help coordinate all the work (there was a sewer line which needed replacement and subsequent cement work) as well as some water lines which needed to be re-routed to make duct installation "tighter" to the floor joists above. He custom made the boots, ducts, etc and all were installed in the most efficient manner leaving the maximum head and body room in the surrounding area. He also moved the water heater to bring all the machines into one tight area for best use of floor space. When some extra hardware was required for this task he went out and got it and did a great job of re-positioning the water heater. And he never complained nor did he hit us up for extra cost/s.

I am not easy to please and I would highly recommend this firm to anyone. The owner, Paul Shearer, was involved at every step of the process- from determining what was needed to complete our job at the time of the original estimate, to educating us on various equipment options, to being personally involved in every phase of the installation of the new system. Paul was very precise on exactly what was to be accomplished on each day regarding the removal of the existing system and installation of the new system and the time it would take. His firm's work was immaculate. I found it refreshing to work with a highly competent professional who does a great deal of the work himself. His direct and to the point manner was ideal. His wife handles the administrative duties of billing and handling the rebate/tax credit issues and this also went perfectly.

On a previous visit, Chase Heating (Paul) took the time to fixed my Heat Pump System to cool the house and remove humidity as designed. During that visit, he said the Electronic Filter was restricting air flow which contributed to the lack of cooling and recommended that it be replaced with one less restrictive. The house is now cool with less humidity.

I looked at Angie's list for furnace repair businesses, and found that one place I had in mind did not get particularly good reviews, so I chose Chase on the basis of recommendation made by members of Angie's list. I asked Chase for an inspection and tune-up, and was favorably impressed with the results. Turns out the heat exchanger had a lifetime warranty, and Chase ordered one shipped overland, which took about three weeks. Chase did the work in less than half a day, and fixed a few other problems in the furnace/AC at the same time. I would not hesitate to ask Chase to service my furnace again.
Description of Work: Replaced the heat exchanger, burner set and condensate disposal plumbing and pump of the 13 year old Rheem 90+ gas furnace, as well as acid wash the condenser coils of the A/C unit. This work was done after Chase did an inspection of the furnace a couple weeks ago, and recommended this work be done: one look at the innards of the furnace told me that the time had come to replace the parts listed above.

I got 3 different estimates for a new heating system. My oil tank had developed a leak and it didn't make sense to replace it as it was linked to a 50 year old furnace. Chase gave me the best estimate for an excellent system (heat pump and air handler). Communication was a little dicey at first as they are a small company and the owners wife does the office work and she happened to be out the week I was trying to to first get a hold of them. But the owner always did respond within a few days. The installation went well. Everyone showed up on time and the owner worked with his assistant all day and got the job done in one day. He checked it out and made sure everything worked and showed me how to use the new programmable thermostat. It's working great. I am about to look over the paperwork that I recieved in the mail dealing with tax credits for the system.

It went spectacularly well. The tech arrived exactly when he said he would and worked tirelessly for several hours to replace the compressor. When he was done, the AC was working better than it had at any point since we bought the house! A big hats-off to Chase for ensuring our house was livable in advance of a heat wave.
Description of Work: Chase was assigned to fix our broken Rheem AC unit (broken compressor) by the AHS insurance company (through whom we had purchased a home warranty on our new house). Chase was very friendly and responsive every step of the way. When the replacement compressor arrived on a Friday morning, the techs made time in their schedule to install it same-day in advance of a weekend heat-wave. I'm not sure what the overall cost was, because we only paid the $60 deductible for the AHS insurance claim.
