Since the contractor was unable to determine the amount of damage from the water leak until the deck and siding were removed, the work was on an hourly basis. The contractor was careful and thorough but not a fast worker so the cost was high. I was pleased with the quality of the work and the look of the completed job. My only complaint was the slowness of the work and the amount of time at a high hourly rate. The bulk of the work was done in June of 2013. Then when there was a leak when it stormed after the completion of the work, I was charged again for the contractor to come back and calk areas that were missed. I thought that should have been covered by the payment for the completed job. If this contractor were to give a competitive bid he will do quality work and the pace of the work would not be a problem.
Description of Work: Took off old deck and removed siding to find source of water leak from rain storms with high winds. Replaced wood damaged by dry rot, replaced and painted siding. Installed a new reconfigured deck engineered to mitigate water problems.
