They overcharged us! They charged us $225 for two employees plus $34 for the bathroom sink drain assembly PLUS they charged us for a new kitchen faucet and a bunch of water hoses etc for a total of $430! OUTRAGEOUS! When I was finally able to reach them on the phone the woman admit they were not authorized to make other repairs but claimed that they work for other property managers who want to maintain their properties, insinuating that we are bad landlords! The woman was rude, angry, refused to charge us for only what we hired them to do and started screaming that she was going to "sue you if you don't pay the bill in full!". I told her to go ahead and sue, no judge is going to make us pay for their maintenance when they admit they were only hired to repair one leak in the bathroom, NOT preform preventative maintenance! She just kept screaming that she was going to "sue". Now they are adding $18.66 in illegal "finance charges" to each months bill and refusing to accept the $146 we paid them ($34 for the part and half the labor ) which was more then the job was worth! Absolutely terrible business to deal with. They are also now sending the bills to me, an employee, rather then the company, a Corporation, that hired them! I am not even an owner in the company or the apartments how can they sue me personally? Something seriously wrong with this company, I would NEVER do business with them again! I see from other reviews that this is not the first time they have overcharged customers!

They have a family owned business and they are wonderful. I would recommend them.

Toilet was cleared and is running well. Arrived early and left in less than 10 minutes. Tidy and well mannered and clean.

Two fellows arrived -one plumber and one assistant. had consult about frequency of having to plunge toilets and possible reasons. went to work including camera. checked various options, completed work within two hours including travel time.

One of the plumbers sat on the back of the service truck and smoked while the other plumber did the majority of the work. We were charged $255 for an hour and half worth of work. I called the owner and voiced my concern about the billing. He told me he charges $100 per hour for his journeyman plumber, $50 per hour for the flunky, and $35 for the snake. The bill should have been no more than $185. The owner mentioned he would talk with his plumbers and take $25 off the bill. We have had good luck with Rau Plumbing in the past but certainly will not use or recommend them in the future. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.

I was clearly told on the phone by a woman that if two plumbers came to my house, the rate would be $125/hr. When I got the bill, they charged me $100/hr for Steve AND $50/hr for Joe M. They also over-billed my hours. They were supposed to be at my house at 8:30am, they showed up at the curb at 10:02am. By 10:45 they appeared to be done, and not doing anything. At 10:50 I asked if they were finished or if there was something else they needed to do (because my husband wasn't home and had told me to make sure that they just snake it and if they want to do anything else just get a quote). They said they were done and just needed to and quot;clean up,and quot; which they very slowly did before leaving the house at 11:15. If I knew they were going to charge me an extra hour for using my own broom and paper towels, I would have cleaned up, myself- wait, actually I had to do that anyway after they left. I wish they would have just left when they were done at a quarter til', instead of dragging it out trying to rob me until a quarter after. Then later talking to the boss about this, I'm told that he charges from the minute they leave the shop in Newport. Using a popular map site, one can see that this would take 16 minutes to my house. This was not disclosed to me, nor have I heard of or experienced such a charge from any other business. Additionally, work was stopped a number of times for phone calls and twice when a co-worker stopped by (apparently to borrow supplies). The woman I spoke with on the phone was supposed to call me with a total, but never did. Clearly, she didn't want to explain the difference in charges from what she told me, or explain the over-billing of hours. I was charged for 2 hours, they worked for less than 1.
