Bob has the experience and expertise that I was looking for. His calm and focused demeanor, even while crawling around in a tight space under the house, never waivered. He created new locations for a complicated installation of an open shower design, relocating the sink and shower to the center of the room, and the toilet to a new location. Facing very old pipes, often in decay, Bob cut back and rebuilt the drain lines, and rerouted the hot and cold supplies running under the sub-floor. Over the 13 years I have been renovating and repairing this building, the plumbing work by Bob Bateman, the father, and now his son, Bob Bateman, has been terrific, and the men have been great partners, showing me different ways to fix things, and providing me with cost estimates beforehand. I worked for hours trying to fix problem to no avail. Called Bateman, who came and put in one hour with his helper. They couldn't get the problem solved either, so we ended up calling another company who came and did the job properly. I understand charging me for one hour, but the helper was not needed and since they didn't fix the problem they should have cut the price in half. They were very prompt and cordial and mailed me the bill. I realize now that drain clogs are not their expertise, but feel they should have informed me of that before services were rendered.
