Although Smokey's Stoves came prepared to do a complete re-pipe of chimney (as I had said previous company said they had found extensive damage) Shea and Zach thoroughly inspected my system and reported it needed no repairs whatsoever. They arrived early and went right to work, and provided me with a written inspection report. Shea and Zach are knowledgeable and professional, showing me he proper operation of this stove which was new to me. In short, they were honest. They turned down an $1800 install job they said was completely unnecessary. (Consumers are at the mercy of such contractors, I sure wasn't going on the roof to see for myself.) Smokey's Stoves now has a new customer-for-life. I strongly recommend them for Rogue Valley stove and chimney work, based solely on honesty and integrity. So, Smokey's sometimes has a reputation for being spendy, but I needed a fireplace extension (a fireproof "mat" in front of the wood stove insert) in order to pass insurance inspection -- and for safety reasons. The clerk at the Grants Pass Smokey's was wonderful: light-hearted, professional, and right to the point. He had 3 floor models of mats, and they are normally well over $200. I got a deal and a good experience. Ta da!

Shea and Charlie showed up on time, after the service they told me: and quot;Do Not Use this fireplace under ANY circumstance or your house will burn downand quot; Now this was strange to me b/c we had another inspection before we moved in and they said it was safe to use,i told them this and they said and quot;Please DO NOT use it your whole house will be gone, now here's our catalog it will cost you $3500.00 for us to fix it.and quot; Needless to say I'm concerned but I did not trust this simply b/c of the1st inspection + my husband was not present and I got the distinct impression that they were trying to take advantage of me b/c I'm a woman and quot;aloneand quot;. My husband called a third and different inspector and they said our fireplace was perfectly safe to use.How dare you TRY to take advantage of people! We have used and enjoyed our fireplace for over a month now, needless to say our house did not burn down!

They were very professional, very friendly and very knowledgeable. They were on time, clean and conscientious too.

Pete and Zac arrived early which I was hoping they would do. They were here appox. 30 min. They were courteous, and did the work quickly and efficiently, using tarps across the rug and even cleaned the stove's window. Pete patiently answered all my questions and reassured me that the chimney was in good shape. My only thought is the price seems a bit steep and a senior discount would be helpful, but I will definitely call them the next time we need that service.

The initial inspection didn't turn out too well. One of the inspectors was too new. The installation went well. The two installers worked very well together. The owner of 'Smokey's Stoves' work with me through the whole 'process'. After everything was completed, he helped me with filling out the energy rebate forms for tax purposes. The wood insert works very well.

Recently purchased home with a wood buring fireplace. Wanted it serviced before using. They called and asked if they could come early, arrived at 11 am instead of 11:30 am. (That's a plus) The technicians came in and looked at the fireplace from the bottom up and top down. Made a couple of recommendations, including a chimney cap. I said yes, they had one in stock. Total time :30min. Professional, concerned with the equipment. Looked at our gas fireplace and recommended service in the summer. No complaints, they did great.

Just needed a quick chimney sweep, but they also made the wood stove spotless. Quick service, nice polite guys.

Called and made appointment to clean fireplace and gas fireplace. Very nice people came and cleaned everything with no mess. They checked the chimney caps and did a very good job of cleaning. Everything is working well now.

They went up on the roof, inspected the chimney, and told us that it was pretty well built. It was working well but it needed a spark arrestor, they put it in, we used the fireplace since and it has been fine. They were here on time.

We use them for the firewood and gas furnace also. We have them come every year because they put it in. They are good and we have always used them. We will go back to them. They do a very good job. They cleaned up everything real well.

He was very good and informative. Overall, it was an excellent service. He went above and beyond. I thought it was a wonderful experience and definitely want to recommend them.
