Very helpful and knowledgeable at time of sale. Two weeks before the warranty expired I called Eads to report that the washer had started leaking during the Afresh cleaning cycle. They advised I needed to call their repair person and quot;Mikeand quot; as he did the warranty repairs. Spoke to Mike over the phone. He said he had never heard of anything like this and he would call the Whirlpool help line. Mike called back stating he had been told I was using too much soap which then reacts with the Afresh and produces too much foam. I pointed out I was using the recommended amount by the detergent manufacturer and there was no significant foam during the Afresh cycle. Mike stated he was told I should only use 2 tbsp of detergent. I pointed out to Mike that the warranty was about to expire and I was concerned about this being covered after I waited for the next cleaning cycle, since the machine only asks for it to be run about once a month or after a certain amount of loads. Mike said that since he was making a record of my call it would be covered. He never came out to the house. I started using only 2 tbsp of detergent and now the clothes don't come out clean and it still leaks during the next and quot;cleaningand quot; cycle. I also ran a rinse cycle with vinegar before the Afresh cycle, as directed by Mike. I went to Eads to see what could be done. At this point I wanted my money back and return the washer. Eads explained this was impossible, that if I was dealing with a big box store they would probably take it back and refund me, but that they could not do this. They checked the service records and found that Mike had NOT made a record of my call. They called Mike and he remembered talking to me. Eads tried to call Whirlpool, but could not get through and that was the end of their efforts. They told me I would have more success if I contacted them directly, which I did. They said the warranty is expired and there is nothing they can do. I went through the trouble of explaining this whole scenario to Whrilpool, to no avail. They won't honor the warranty since there is no record of my first call. At the time of my second visit to Eads, they set up an appointment for Mike to come out to look at the washer. He came, took the lid off, said: and quot;Yes, I see where it has been leaking.and quot; Put the lid back on and said he would follow up with Whirlpool since he did not know what else to do. This was June 23rd, 2014 and I still have not heard back from Eads or Mike a the date of this review, 8/4/14.
