I met with Travis from Cut ‘N Break early summer to discuss concrete work that needed to be done in our building. The conversation was quite positive and a few days later Michelle from Cut ‘N Break office has sent us a quote good for 30 days. A couple of weeks later we were ready to schedule the work and I called and left a message for Travis. A few days later, after receiving no call back, I called Cut ‘N Break office and talked to Michelle who said she will have Travis to call me back to schedule. Yet, a few days later and still receiving no calls or emails, I followed up with Cut ‘N Break office and talked to John, who again ensured me that someone will call shortly to schedule. I believe I left yet another message to Travis and sent an e-mail to Cut N’ Break office over the following week. Have never received any follow up, response or explanation. This behavior is highly unprofessional. We were counting on their services, where in fact all we got was a runaround and wasted time which bears its cost to our business. I would not recommend using Cut ‘N Break, this can cost you quite a bit of time, money and frustration. Find another reputable contractor, there are quite a few in Rogue Valley.

Description of Work: Replaced the front steps into our house with a cement ramp. The purpose was to allow my mom's wheelchair access into the house that we were moving into. It was also really useful during our move. They did a good job with the planning. The platform is of a good size for chair maneuverability They sloped it to allow proper water runoff yet not enough to cause the chair to roll off. The threshold into the house is nice and low. The only issue I have is that we needed the slope to be textured. They did a very light brushing, but it really needed more textured for safety in the winter. The diamond expanded metal stamping would have been better. We had so much going on that we did not communicate our texturing needs well, but they did so well with the rest, I'm surprised it lacks a useful anti-slip surface.

They came and gave a good estimate but even more important they showed up to do the work right at the scheduled time. They did a great job and were very reliable. A great crew of fellows showed up and I am very pleased with their work.

After snow and cold delayed the job for a couple of weeks, we got rolling before Christmas. Pumped in slurry to bring level up, then DG, foam, vapor barriers, rebar and finish slab. From bidding to end they were punctual and professional. Got an itemized, written bid within 24 hours. I always get several bids, and they were the only company that provided a complete written bid. Because of the snow delay and bad roads, they were in touch with me regularly to schedule the start of the project. The finished project looks great and I now have a 400 sq. ft. storage room to use once the slab cures. I've worked with a number of subs and contractors in Southern Oregon in the last two years, and in my experience it is hard to find one that is motivated and driven to earn repeat business. I would not hesitate to hire them again - in fact, I just took a break from writing this to talk with them about another concrete project on my property. Bottom line is they were on time, and on budget. I also appreciate the fact that their workers are courteous and professional and don't use foul language - which is important when living close to neighbors and retirees as we do.

We were impressed from start to finish. It meant a lot that John, the owner of the company, came out to assess the project. Then Travis and Bob got the job started sooner than we could've hoped when they had a gap in their scheduling. They were great about communicating with us, whether it was on the next step of the project or so we could put our dogs away :). They also worked hand in hand with our gate company's crew, so things progressed in a timely way, even with curing time. The finished product, a basketball court/ alley access extra parking, is fantastic--I can hardly get my family in for dinner with all the basketball! We are very grateful to Cut n Break and will call them when we need to fix a stretch of sidewalk in the front if the house. All this to say, we recommend them highly and sincerely.
Description of Work: They excavated, which required some delicacy due to curbs we wanted to keep, and lines and old pipes going through the area; they leveled; and poured the slab, grading for drainage.

Ooops, plrease see above, this company was very professional.
Description of Work: I was told that my house had sunken over the last seven years by 5/16th of an inch. I am from CA so I was kinda panicked and called my contractor's recommendation of Cut 'N Break. They made an appointment to check the house and provide a bid. The gentleman who came out was prompt and removed his shoes at the door. We toured the house and he checked around; then he told me that the small amount of shrinkage was pretty normal and the house was not sliding and I should not worry. Now, I have dealt with many companies in CA and never has a company walked away telling me I don't need them at this time. So, although I did not use their services, I certainly will call them if I have any problems in the future.
This company is first rate. The bid was $6,000.00 higher than the actual charge, yes a contracter that came in lower than their bid. The work was done as scheduled (three weeks). All of the speciality crews worked great together, well even Bob and Jimmy. The mess was cleaned up. The crews were polite and never stepped over into our privacy. The crews always left our yard so our dogs could use it at the end of each day. I know this sounds as if I am trying to sell these guys, but when you are faced with a possible $30,000.00+ project and you do not know the company your are hiring, things can be a bit scary. John was always there to answer my many questions, and took my calls on the weekends. If you are faced with foundation issues, drainage problems, or need concrete of any type poured, these are your guys!! I know I will forget a few, but a big thanks to John Lawton, Bob Niles, Jimmy, Louie, Travis, Fabio, Tom, and all of the other guys that did such a great job!!!
Description of Work: We have a house that has been in the family for over 40 years. One section had sunk, so the doors and windows would not open, we had cracks in the sheetrock, and the floor sloped. Outside we have a 12 foot deep in-ground pool that was in a state of ill repair, the concrete decking was cracked and pitted, and the patio was just as bad. We got several bids, but Cut N' Break was the only company that was willing to do all of the needed projects. We had our fencing removed, so tht the heavy equipment could get in, and everyone including Bob watched out for our prized Silk tree. The crew drilled several holes in the pool. Bob went to work on the pool decking and patio, removing them and placed them in the empty pool. This was a lengthy process, breaking up the concrete, cutting off the pool walls 4 feet below the ground, breaking that concrete into small pieces, then filling the pool with varing sized rocks and finishing it off with 3/4 minus. During all of the layers of rock, the crew was packing each layer down. While all of this was going on, another crew from Cut N' Break (Jimmy, Louie, and others) were digging out the area around our foundation and placing the 7 needed piers. This is an incredible process. I could actually wath the building slowly being raised back to level. I asked Jimmy if he could pour cement slurry under the slab, and about 30 minutes later the truck was there and they were pumping away. After the building was leveled, another crew, (Travis, Fabio, Tom, and others), entered the leveled building and cut out, and removed the cracked slab. the remaing slab was drilled and rebar was inserted and the large 20 x 15 slab was repoured and finished. This crew was very carful to keep there area clean, and were done in 2 days. Then came the french drain and down spout piping. All of the down spouts wer tied together and hard piped out. The french drain was once again dug by Bob, who had to squeeze into very small areas, and use his backhoe like a scalpel. This guy is good at what he does, and works until the job is done.
