Two other repair shops could not identify why my car would not start on occasion. Crater Lake maintenance identified and fixed the problem in less than two hours. The cost was a bit high but the results were excellent.

Ford gave me a quote of almost $800 to fix my rear defroster on my Explorer. The connection had come disconnected. Ford said they couldn't fix just the connection and would have to replace the entire rear window. Ridiculous! Ford was nice enough to provide the number for a local company that would do it much cheaper and not have to replace the entire window. That was great on their part.
Description of Work: Gave estimate to replace disconnected rear defroster.

Description of Work: I returned from a plane trip to find a dead battery in my car. They looked for the cause for 2 days, and eventually traced it to a GPS unit that didn't turn off automatically as it should have. They only charged me for one hour of a technicians's time. | |I have used Crater Lake Ford for other services, such as required maintenance on my Ford Fusion Hybrid. I have always been satisfied with their work although their prices seems a little higher than at other local Ford dealers (the reason for the B under Price). I tried a different Ford dealer recently and will be going back to Crater Lake Ford from now on.

We purchased a Ford Explorer and were quite pleased with our buying experience - not high pressured and decent price. The 2 small concerns we had after purchasing the vehicel were taken care of at no charge even though it was after the sale was complete.

Went in for the 30k service. They had no issues taking things off the service order that did not need completed, which is different from very pushy commission based salesmen trying to sell you anything and everything. They did their best to accommodate my vehicle late in the day and took care of things before the service guys went home. Will be headed back for most, if not all service work.

My old Ford would occasionally not start in the mornings. The battery was strong enough to crank the engine numerous times but the car didn't start. I had AAA tow the car to a repair shop. They said the engine probably was flooded because it started for them and they couldn't reproduce the non-start condition. Less than a week later, the engine wouldn't start again. Later that afternoon, it did start and I took it to a 2nd repair shop. They tried to identify the problem and did switch the fuel pump relay. Two days later the car would crank but not start. I had AAA tow the car to Crater Lake Ford where their maintenance quickly identified the problem and fixed it by replacing the crankshaft position sensor. Very impressive work work and the car has started every day since (15 days). Thank you Crater Lake Ford Maintenance.

They do a great job and I like them. Whatever they do seems to be fine. They charged me a lot of money and I was hoping to get a better deal from them. They are not cheap. They check my car pretty good and everything seems to hold together pretty well. They are responsive. They take a whole day to do anything I take my car to them for. They are nice guys and seem very professional. I have been satisfied with them. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Crater Lake Ford for a regular maintenance and oil change. They also changed the shocks and struts of my car.

It's a Ford dealership and it's probably one of the biggest ones in the area. That's where I bought all my vehicles from. They said that they do the work and they would guarantee the work, but they just couldn't guarantee the parts. It was just under $5000 for all the work. The oil cooling system that they put on helps diesel trucks to pull bigger loads and carry heavier items for hauling and stuff like that. We have a RV and we use the F250 for recreation as well. I use the same truck for my construction site. It was really because of the work site and it pulls about 14000 pounds; so it's a lot of extra towing that the truck has to do. That's why I wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to put too much of strain on the truck without enhancing the performance a little bit. The only thing is that Crater Lake Ford Lincoln doesn't warranty the parts. If you buy the parts and bring them there, they won't warranty the parts. They only warranty the craftsmanship to put them in. Most dealerships are like that. You do have to sign an agreement saying that you are not going to come back later and say that the part was faulty or technically defective. It's usually not a big deal when you get the higher end performance parts since they usually come with the warranty. If there are other guys like me especially people who have recreational vehicles that they tow or haul, it's kind of an important thing to do to enhance your hauling vehicle a little bit. A lot of the new wheels are a lot heavier than they used to be. That's because they have all the whistles and bells, the slide outs, the full sized refrigerators, full sized bathrooms and stuff like that. So, they get really heavy. If you don't upgrade the trucks, they break down a lot. That's what I was doing to avoid. Crater Lake Ford Lincoln will do a good job at making sure that your truck is set up to be able to handle the extra towing weights and the size of the vehicles that they are towing or hauling. It's a pretty high-end and high profile shop. The place is spotless like you can eat off the floor. The tools are all high-end and high tech. With the engine and the transmission upgrades that I did, you got to take it to a shop like that. Otherwise, you will end up having a lot more problems. I wanted to keep everything heavy duty because the F250 is a super duty truck. If you don't specify things that it's heavy duty, then they put in cheaper filters, cheaper gaskets and all that kind of stuff. You have to have all the heavy duty stuff to maintain that kind of equipment. They were very professional and constantly in touch with me. They were constantly in communication with me. If they found something that they thought might not work properly or would be on the truck in a certain way that I wouldn't like, they were always calling to let me know and checking in with me. So, I really liked that. Their work was fantastic and spot on. The fact that they kept in touch with me and stayed in communication at all times with me was great. We live some distance from that dealership and I specifically chose them because of the other diesel truck drivers who told me that they were the best in the area. They are expensive, but they are worth it. You do get value when you pay a little extra. Their work was absolutely perfect. When I got the truck back, the whole engine compartment looked completely brand new. It looked like it was just rolled off the assembly line. I appreciate that kind of service when they go a little bit extra. You are paying a little extra, but they go a little extra to make sure that everything is just spot on. Their rate was very competitive for the amount of work they did. The shop that created the bullet proof diesel products is in Arizona. When I called them to tell them what I was doing, they asked me what I was paying to have it installed. I told them and they said that I was getting a great deal. They said that they would have probably charged us about $7500 instead of $5000. So, I was pretty pleased with that. When I first took the truck in, it had 60000 miles on it. The engine had some dirt on it and it was showing its age a little bit since it is 6 years old. When I got it back, I opened the hood and I was blown away. I couldn't believe how spotless, clean and perfect it was. It looked just like I had bought it brand new in 2005. Their responsiveness was good. I didn't get to talk to the actual mechanic a lot. It was all done through the customer representative. Then there is a company representative who handles your account and he was basically the face of the company. I didn't get to talk to the mechanic. I would have liked to talk to the mechanic to get some more of the technical information. They told me the day I could pick up my truck. We live about two and half hours away from them. It was important for us to not have to make multiple trips. When they told me it would be done on a certain day, it was done on that day. I showed up at 8 a.m. When they opened the shop, they had it sitting there ready with the keys so that I could take off in it. They are really responsive. My wife has a Ford Escape that we bought there in 2009. Their service has been just as good. They always call to check and see how we like it. They give us reminders about when the oil changes are due and that kind of stuff. They were always very helpful and very attentive to what we needed as far as scheduling. They handled everything right on the line. I would most definitely use their services in the future too. I will probably buy vehicles from them again from how we were treated. They were very honest. They didn't try to up-sell me on a bunch of other services. So, I was very impressed. I found them in the phone book when we were looking for vehicles. I was just shocked when I saw my truck. It was just amazing and it was like a brand new vehicle. The other thing that is really neat is that they always run your car through a car wash before you come and pick it up. When you pick it up, it's nice and clean. That's part of the service and you don't pay extra for it. You might in your bill, but they don't actually charge you for the car wash and it's another service.
Description of Work: Crater Lake Ford Lincoln put parts on my 2005 F250 pick up truck to enhance its performance towards the end of August. They put on a diesel system which is basically an oil cooling system. I also had a power system put in and it's basically a more sophisticated computer than the computer in the truck. It basically monitors all the systems like the transmission, heat and the temperature and the engine heat and temperature. It tells what kind of fuel economy you are getting and that kind of stuff.

The service rep was top notch, Chris helped me with every detail. I am a pretty tough customer to please because I want very specific work done and not all shops will deal with customers like me. Since my classic truck needs to stay in complete original condition with all the matching serial numbers for parts I can be pretty demanding. Since this is a show truck I have to have all the work done to exact specs. Crater Lake Ford has always treated me right. I have never had any trouble with the team at Crater Lake Ford.
Description of Work: I had a blown head gasket on my 1978 Ford F150 Trailer Special with a 351 Cleveland (M) V8 engine. So I had them replace the bad gasket and rebuild the upper engine block. So they rebuilt, pressure tested and resurfaced the heads and intake manifold, rebuild the carb and replace the manifold valley pain. This is a show truck so all of the work had to be clean, factory original parts and show show ready condition. All of the work was Ford factory compliant and I was extremely pleased with the results. One of the great added benefits was they washed and detailed the truck before I picked it up. That saved me a lot of time and money since I had to take the truck to a local car show the next day. I now take all of my Fords to this dealership because of the professional and honest treatment I recieved.
