+ -1 moreOver the past four years, we have had more than a dozen sensors fail (some multiple times;) have triggered multiple false alarms while away on vacation due to improper programming of sensors as well as pet-sensitive motion detectors that were set off by pets. Sensor batteries have failed in as little as two years. Sensors have failed due to corrosion or simply because "they were bad sensors." We never know when something is going to fail. In the past three months, we have had three sensors fail (separate instances, about a month apart) for unknown reasons. For this, we have had two separate service calls, each time the technician claims to "check everything out." I've written letters, threatened action, not paid for the most recent service call, etc. Bottom line? The system is untrustworthy, the company is less than responsive )"Dee is on vacation, so no one has called you back" or "Dee is too swamped and is sorry to have not called back sooner.") We're stuck and it's a nightmare.
Description of Work: A&E installed a new alarm system in our home that we were remodeling, May of 2002. The system was extensive and included wireless window/door sensors, glass-break sensors, pet-sensitive motion detectors, regular motion detectors, heat sensors, smoke detectors, three control panels, etc. The numerous wireless sensors installed throughout were said to have a battery life of 5+ years and that the system was "top of the line." We were told that we needed to install wireless sensors because "a wired system could not be installed in a home of our type." The actual installation of the system was difficult because it turned out that our original salesperson was "let go" sometime between the initial bid and the final installation. Thus, even the initial installation was troubling, merely a foreshadowing of the nightmare to come. Additionally, we signed up for monthly monitoring for our security needs.

Description of Work: THEY CAME OUT AND CHANGED OUR ALARM SYSTEM FROM ONE SERVICE TO THEIRS. WE'LL BE SAVING MONEY IN THE LONG RUN.
