Bafford Construction is an all phase general contracting company specializing in custom homes and remodels. We also provide subcontracting to other contractors for framing and siding. Bafford construction currently has 10 employees. Since beginning my construction career in 1997, I have spent time working in and learning multiple trades involved in the home building process. My passion to become a custom home builder/ remodeler began during the three years I worked as a project manager for a custom home builder here in Central Oregon. Since then I have continued to build and perfect my team of subcontractors whom I rely heavily on in creating and completing each individual project. I strive to complete each project with the utmost quality and to do so takes proper supervision and top notch subcontractors. Quality is never sacrificed in my business!

Country Craftsman is owner operated with 15 years of combined experience in multiple fields. We cover all of central Oregon. From land development to custom carpentry we do it all. Free consultations are available. Affordable, reliable work done right the first time.

"Amazing project and result. I appreciated the design and wood suggestions based on their experience. They built a solid deck that will be enjoyed for many, many years. I especially appreciate that they gave me a timeline and they stuck to it. In addition, Joel, the owner found an even better way to seal the Juniper and offered to come back and re-do it. Exceptional service."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

You need to repair any major damage on your asphalt driveway before sealing it. Hire a professional for major repairs. Asphalt driveway repairs cost $2,459 on average, or $1 to $3 per linear foot . Heavier damages, such as potholes, minor sinking, and crumbling, cost $2 to $5 per linear foot . It might be a better deal if you bundle repair and sealing in one project and have your contractor take care of everything.

It is possible to DIY complete hardscaping projects, but in most cases, hiring a professional is best to get the job done correctly. Hardscaping—including installing patios, decks, retaining walls, walkways, and water features—is challenging and time-consuming, so the money you spend on a professional is typically worth it. Not only will the quality be better, but you could avoid problems that come along with a lack of hardscaping experience, like drainage issues that can lead to costly foundation damage and leaks in your home.

Chip seal layers gravel and a liquid bitumen one at a time on-site, while asphalt directly pours a pre-combined mixture. Asphalt must be sealed, but it will last up to four times as long as chip seal driveways. Aesthetically, chip seal has a natural, rustic look compared to the traditional asphalt slab.

Outdoor kitchens get wet and are sometimes next to pools. To avoid accidents, go with a non-slip material like concrete, brick, or rubber. Avoid materials like ceramic and porcelain, as they are known to be quite slippery. Wood and composite flooring can be slippery if untreated, so make sure to stain or finish these materials.
