They came on time and cleaned up after themselves. The took away our huge, old heating system at no extra cost. They really went the extra step for us. I would definitely use him again.

The owner Carl came out and did the quote himself, We had several quotes by the time he arrived but we knew before he'd left we were going with his company, the price was slightly higher than our other quotes but was well worth it, Carl and his team arrived early, and set to, with removing our old furnace and placing the new one in, also Carl was the only contractor to work with us to move our old thermostat and place the new one in the correct position without having to go into our attic space, no other contractor was prepared to do this even though they knew for better performance it needed to be moved, but it was too much hassle for them, Not for Carl and his team, they were here 3 days, the guys were very pleasant, and respected our home, they worked quickly quietly, and cleanly. There were some problems with the heat pump, to the point that Carl got in touch with Trane head office they all agreed that it was necessary to replace the pump, Carl kept in touch with us throughout the whole operation, and between Trane and Lyons the problem was sorted very quickly,. Carl and his team explained several times how to use the equipment and were very patient with us, Carl's office staff also sorted all the paperwork for us for tax credits, so when we did our taxes all that paperwork was done!! I would recommend Carl and his team to anybody, he is a true gentleman, with very honest values.

When heating oil headed for $4.00/gal, and we had a 275 gal external tank, heating our house became a really spendy issue. I spoke with our local power co. & asked for comparisons of different home heating systems. Our oil furnace was only a few years old, so it was suggested maybe an electric heat pump "piggy-backed" onto that would be more efficient and use less oil. Sort of on the "QT" the power company guy "happened to mention" a few local companies he might call for himself (they aren't allowed to really recommend providers...). The company he first mentioned was Lyons Heating & Cooling, Inc, and as he sort of mentioned them in order HE might call, and because they are located really close to us, we called for a consultation & estimate. They are a full-service "Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning sales, service, and installation" company, and one of the owners, Carl Robins, Jr., came to our home and explained all our options and associated costs vs. benefits. He was extremely knowlegible, thorough, and patient with the many questions we had . At no time did we ever feel pressured, and in some instances he actually suggested less costly options than we were considering. Eventually we felt comfortable to the extent we didn't even feel the need to get bids from other companies. We actually decided to completely change out our oil furnace for a Trane electric furnace and compatible heat pump. (There were choices available to add the heat pump to our existing due ace, but we felt the oil is dirtier, getting more expensive, the huge tank on our back patio was intrusive, and having a large oil tanker truck coming to fill the tank approx. every 2-3 months (or even more in Winter) was a pain! The choices were better with matching a heat pump we wanted to the electric furnace. Lyons Heating drained our oil tank, actually paid us a (reduced, but...) refund on the fuel oil still in the tank, and arranged for an individual who wanted it to take away the tank (after verifying we didn't want it ourselves). Carl helped with the draining & removal. Carl coordinated the removal of the old furnace (& took it to store for a program they have of helping out people with limited income in replacing furnaces with good used systems. All Lyons charges in these cases is labor/installation costs.) The transition was smooth and without any unwelcome issues. The technicians were on time, neatly dressed, polite, and efficient. They removed the old and installed the new furnace/heat pump quickly and correctly and cleaned up all debris - they left our home clean and undisturbed. They then took adequate time to explain the new system and multi-option automatic thermostat. Several days later Carl himself stopped by and again went over the equipment features, as well as again reviewing warranty details and servicing requirements. We could not be happier with our new system (now in place for slightly over a year), have saved considerable money in heating costs, now also have AC (comes with the heat pump!), and have found continuing contacts with this company to be very positive. Two thumbs up only because I don't have more!

I think that they are good. They didn't charge us the last time since it is still under warranty. They are out here on a regular basis and have been very accommodating in fixing things without charging us much money. I don't have anything to compare their prices to.

This was a great experience. I had visits/quotes from 4 different HAC companies. Lyons was the clear choice. The initial visit was not from a salesman, but from the owner of the company. Carl is straightforward and no-nonsense and I had pretty much decided to go with Lyons even before he had left. The installation went great as well. All the guys were pleasant and efficient. They encountered a couple of small problems in the installation and got an electrician out to fix the problem -- lengthening the wire to the air handler. They offered me a space heater overnight, although I have a propane heat stove and declined with thanks. System initialization the next day went well, too, and they left me with all the basic instructions and documentation. The last part of the process was the boss coming back a couple of weeks later to go over everything and made sure the system was working well and that all my questions were answered. I'm very pleased with Lyons Heating & Cooling and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
