+ -1 morethe initial demo was more difficult than estimated, and lasted over several days. the debris was messy, to be expected, but not enough protection was provided for the floors, and as a result there were scratches to the vinyl in the kitchen, and dings to the hardwood floors in the livingroom. the electrician was exceptional: courteous, fast, and thorough. the contractor made himself available by phone most of the way through, but worked only in spurts, so the length of the project was frustratingly long. in the end, my project was completed as agreed, and to my specifications.
Description of Work: created a pass-through between kitchen and livingroom & expanded the doorway to increase light in both rooms. removed unsafe 1950's wiring in the wall, and rewired switches and outlets, and added some lighting and switches to update and enhance the kitchen and inside the livingroom. a new header was added to strenthen the bearing wall. old plaster on sheetrock ceiling completely removed in kitchen, replaced with sheetrock, taped and painted. recycled two cupboards from the wall and used one to support a new countertop. installed a new large countertop in the pass-through, making a breakfast bar

+ 5 moreIt started with a kitchen remodel; liked his work so much that we had him look at our non-functioning drainage system which he did a good job on, including waterproofing the foundation, replacing the driveway and refashioning the laundry room (all of which had to be taken apart to get to the root of the problem). We liked his work so much that we had him come back to replace all our windows. Also, will be hiring him again to remodel all our bathrooms as soon as I have the money to do it.
Description of Work: Redesigned the entire kitchen including cabinets, appliances, pantry and hardwood floor. Also, replaced all windows and put in a whole new drainage system in our foundation.
