We received Fantastic service and a job well done at a very reasonable price. The owner of the company was the "sales person" and was delightful to deal with. No high pressure and a detailed and honest presentation. The installation crew was always on time to the job. Always cleaned up before leaving each day. Were very careful of our plantings, etc. as well as respectful and friendly to us, the home owners. We highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to hire them again if we had the need.

You'll have to wait to schedule service because this company is highly desired. I waited about 3 months and then had a few days due to rain but it was worth waiting for. The installation was professional and quick once it began. Loren provided a detailed contract along with what to expect if the plywood below was damaged.

Very well. The crew was there every day about 730am . Because of the change from shake to asphalt and the double roof removal it was lengthy. Crew cleaned up every day. Competent and professional. There were 5 members of the crew. Once the old roof was gone they got the plywood up and the actual roof install only took 2 days.

They did some work for me, not the lowest bid. They said their time line was 6 to 8 week after giving me the bid and they actually showed up 4 months before they got on site. The roofing was fine but the trim work was shoddy and they did not replace the flashing as it was in the bid. They came back to do the flashing but they did not use the correct color flashing. I have sent them pictures of what needed to be corrected but they have never came back to correct what they did. They did not clean up the nails out of the yard and the trim was pieced together. There were gaps of up to 2 inches and it did not go all the way down to the gutter. The ordeal took almost a full year. they roof is ok and met standards but everything is not up to standards. Nothing about the work was honest or timely. There are 2 different flashing on my dormers which looks bad.

He did a fine job and we were happy with the service. It was efficient. Loren was easy to talk to. He gave me a quote. I agreed with the quote. I had other quotes, but I liked Loren's quote. He had done previous work for me before so I was familiar with Loren. He is really busy and he doesn't always call back immediately.

Our experience overall was positive, in that we ended up with a quality roof. They also did the work in a fairly timely fashion, having to work around a very rainy period but yet stayed on schedule to the extent possible. So for those reasons, I give them an overall good (B) rating. The process of getting there, however, had some troubling and unnecessary snags. The owner started off very friendly, and that remained as long as we didn’t push back to make sure the work was done right. Unfortunately, however, they made two rather obvious mistakes in installing the roof (a barge board that was cut on the end at a very sloppy angle, way out of sync with the other eave endings on this bungalow house; and roof vents that were spaced very irregularly across the back of the roof) that we insisted they correct; the owner of the company was not happy about us pointing this out and it was a rather unpleasant discussion where he acted like we were being unreasonable, before he finally agreed to fix the mistakes (which turned out to be relatively easy to fix, so why all the fuss about us wanting to make sure the job was done well?) Another problem was that they badly damaged an outdoor teak wood table during roof tear off; the owner at first did not want to admit that this was their error, then belittled the quality of the table (yes it was weather worn but it was still very usable before they arrived on the scene), and then finally demanded that we provide three quotes from furniture repair shops to determine a compensation amount. Problem was we couldn't find furniture shops willing to do this work, and so we could not provide them with an estimate; we just ended up giving the damaged table away. Finally, for many months, even years, afterwards, I would find random roof nails and pieces of shingle(!) in the bushes and grass surrounding the house. Each time I found one of these pieces of debris, it was a reminder of the sloppiness of the work, of the frustration with having to haggle with the owner just to make sure the work was done right, and of losing our backyard table in the process of getting a new roof. Overall, then, while we ended up with a quality roof, it required a lot of hassle on our part. I wouldn't hire them again.

They bid a price which we accepted and signed a contract on July 6, 2016 for the work to be done in the next 30 days. It is now 11/15/16 and they have not responded and we have not heard from them. We had hoped to have a new roof before the winter season and now it is too late to get bids to have it done this year.

I had gotten a few estimates from other roofing companies and I found this process rather unpleasant - kind of like buying a car. Some of the companies I called never called me back or took several days to get an estimate. I communicated with Loren through the whole process. His communication skills were excellent: always got back to me - very transparent - and on the day they arrived he introduced me to his team. His crew was very professional and courteous. My roof looks wonderful and the workmanship is amazing. Before they left, they made sure everything was cleaned up. I highly recommend L&N.

Apparently to busy to also talk to me since he hung up on me. If he had spent more than 10 seconds talking to me he would have found out I was fine on waiting for the work to be done and didn't expect it to be finished immediately. Glad they are so busy but that isn't a reason for brushing off potential clients in such a rude manner. I guess my job wasn't big enough for them.

One day after the roofing was supposed to start I get a call from Loren saying that the job is too high and he doesn't have a ladder tall enough to reach it. ???? Its a 2 story house and he supposedly has done a lot of work in this neighborhood. So now, I'm in a huge bind with questionable weather on the horizon and the gutter installer scheduled right behind him. It escapes me how this is such a hazardous job, (again, 2 stories) doesn't have the proper equipment, and waits to let me know this a day after he was supposed to start. Needles to say, he is off my list.

get a call from [Member Name Removed], (never heard of him but introduced himself and by company name) and asked me what I would charge on a small about 350 sq foot roof he needed roofed. I told him $1,200.00 I thought but needed to look at it first. He said I will call you back. He apparently shopped the job around and called me the next day and wanted me to do the job. I told him I would look at it. The next day, I looked at the job and called to let him know I was not going to do the job. He did not tell me the full story of the job. He was upset. The roof he needed done was 2 1/2 story's high and needed a 32 foot ladder to reach the roof. I will not jeopardize my employees' safety to carry heavy 85# bundles to the roof on a 35 foot ladder. In addition, we would need to use anchors on the roof with rope to insure safety. If [Member Name Removed] is a General Contractor, why did he not do the job himself or was the job too difficult for him or is he a "paper contractor" that subs all his work out. In any event, I turn down several jobs per year for safety reasons. I will not subject my employees' safety for a profit on a job that would pay a couple hundred bucks. Not worth it to me. I have never done a job without first looking at the requirements. I think he just needed the job done and he thought I was the least expensive but he did not describe the job," just a small job of about 350 s/f." We are a General Contractor, but we spend 100% of our time roofing, we do not sub any workout out."

Loren is a great, honest, contractor! We have dealt with a lot of contractors over the years with our previous house being a complete build. Loren is one of the good guys! He came out right away to give us a bid. After getting 6 bids it was between L & N and another company that I think would have done a good job too. I'm glad we went with Loren though. His crew is a great group of guys and go above and beyond. I told them I was impressed with how good of a job they did with roof and clean up. They said that Loren takes good care of them and they want to do a good job for him. That is impressive! Loren came out a lot and chipped right in and you could tell he had a very good rapport with his employees. The couple things we wanted were done to our satisfaction with no problem at the end. If you want a roof installed without a headache then get all your bids but make sure you include one from L & N roofing.

I called 4 contractors, 3 from Angie's List late on a Friday afternoon prior to Memorial Day. First guy said he was on his way out of town, call back mid-week (I did not). Loren came out next day. was very helpful, spent a lot of time with me & gave lots of info & advice I should check, no matter who I chose, etc. His bid was not the lowest but the one I had the most confidence in accepting. His crew was able to start & complete the job earlier than anticipated. They were respectful, very cheerful, worked quickly & did a good job on cleanup. I would definitely recommend L & N Roofing to anyone.

Owner Loren Girsberger and his crew worked fast; protected plants close to the buildings;and were responsive to questions from condo owners during the reroofing work. Mr. Girsberger also participated in a special HOA owners meeting where he described the work he and his crew were going to do, offered samples of the materials, and answered all questions. Mr. Girsberger also made the work schedule flexible, including working Saturdays and Sundays to accommodate owners' schedules and Portland's variable weather from February through December 2013. Mr. Girsberger also went above and beyond the initial agreement by absorbing 2 price increases from material suppliers over the duration of the work agreement and, at no cost to the client, repaired a 4 inch hole through a newly installed roof caused by a falling tree limb as a result of an unseasonale wind storm in early July. Mr. Girsberger and his crew were professional and helpful from beginning to the end of the reroofing project.

Exceptional Job all around - I did my research and homework along with gathering 6 estimates. Loren came in mid pack with pricing and combined with referrals and references I decided to go with them. Not one bit disappointed, the crew was polite and punctual, there was not one scrap left behind or any damage to gutters or landscaping. They finished ahead of schedule and the roof could not look better. Thank you

He also told me about his business and the guys that would be doing the work. Great company very professional. They cleaned up so good that you couldn't even tell I had the old roof torn off and a new one put on. A+ company . Finished on time just like he said. I had several bids for the job, by far Loren was the most personable and responsive one we talked to. Always answering the phone or emails we sent him in a very timely manner.

In November 2012, I noticed a cascading waterfall down the inside wall of my daughters' playroom. I was hoping that I could hold off on buying a new roof, but I was left with little choice. Over the next week I spoke with 5 roofers about estimates. Surprisingly, all of them came in at about the same ~$8000 for stripping and reshingling the roof. However, 3 of them did advise my roof could benefit from some additional work to improve the drainage. Figured that advice from one roofer might signify a scam, but from 3 of 5 made it seem like it would be a good idea to address the drainage issue, as well. Loren was the more reassuring of the lot and put my fears at ease. Since some structural issues needed to be addressed, I felt more comfortable using L&N (general constructor services) then some of the roofer-only companies. After getting a quote, I held off a few months while securing a loan for the work. Over that time I remained in contact with Loren and made 2-3 revisions to my estimate. I won't go so far as to say I was high maintenance, but I was apprehensive to pull the trigger on what I was assuming would be a $15,000 effort. The initial quote was about $8000 for roof, plus $4000 to adjust the roofline and other irregularities. (Plus additional parts and labor, if needed). After finally agreeing to an itemized bid and procuring my loan, repairs went by quickly over a 3-day period in March. Folks were nice, arrived early, and cleaned up exceptionally well each day. So much so that they "accidentally" weeded my flower bed. :) They also vacuumed and cleared my gangway, something I had meant to do for years. Basically, they left things around the house better then when they got there. Back to the roof... After peeling things back they noticed no need to reframe. They made some minor adjustments to improve drainage, but nothing like I was fearing. After the quote was reassessed, the roof repair came in about $2500 under the initial estimate. Long story short, I felt very comfortable with L&N. So much so I recommended them to my in-laws, a potentially dangerous proposition.
Description of Work: Removed 2-3 layers of shingles. New flashing on 2 fireplaces. New shingles. Some minor construction to improve drainage. Ridge vent. Installed a dozen or so soffett vents. Extended waste pipe out roof. Extended ventilation from bathrooms.

All bushes, flower and decks were covered with tarps. Gutter's were cleaned upon completetion. The roof was 3316 s/f andrequired 35 squares. ice and water were used in all of the valleys.

About a month ago I met with several roofing companies. Stu with L&N Roofing was the first person I met with. I knew after meeting Stu that his company was the one I was going to choose to do the job. Stu was professional and personable. When I told him that I had other companies coming out to give bids his response was "You should". He then gave me several questions that I should ask the other companies to make sure I was going to get the best deal possible. L&N's bid was not the cheapest, but it definitely wasn't the most expensive. What I liked about L&N is that every other company wanted to completely replace all the plywood decking even if it didn't need it. L&N only replaced what was needed. L&N's price also included new vents and flashing so that everything would match. All the other companies were going to reuse the old vents and flashing. When our house was built, no flashing was installed around the skylight, which is what caused the leak in our house. L&N offered to raise the skylight and install flashing instead of completely replacing the skylight. Every other company did not give us a choice, we were told that we would have to replace it. We opted to replace the skylight, but it was nice that we were given a choice. We had a gutter hanging off the side of the house. All the other companies told us that they could go ahead and completely replace the gutter system for an additional charge of course. Stu told me that they would go ahead and reattach the gutter for no additional charge. It took a total of 1 1/2 days to complete the job. The first day the workers came out and ripped off the old roof, put down the underlayment, and installed the new skylight. On day 2 they put down the shingles, installed the flashing and vents, and repaired the gutter. Each day they completely cleaned up after themselves. I cannot recommend L&N enough. They were fast, professional, and clean. I also didn't have to pay for the job until it was done. Every other company wanted 1/3 of the total in advance. If you're looking for a roofer, definitely give L&N a call and at least get a estimate.
Description of Work: Re-roof, replace rotting plywood, install new skylight, and repair gutters.
