 + -1 moreIt didn't go. Ed came out to give us an estimate on building a patio cover. We described what we wanted and thought Ed was serious about doing the work although we thought it was strange that a couple of times he said "i'm going to have to talk to my engineer" and this was a fairly simple project. Ed left and that was the last we saw or heard from him. He didn't even have the courtesy to call and say he didn't want the job. Fortunately the next contractor we talked to knew exactly what we wanted. They were able to squeeze us a week later and did a great job.

Although the project was small (less than 2 hours), Ed did not treat it like a small project as his professionalism, attention to detail and craftsmanship showed he valued this small project as much as his more typical large deck construction work. I will not hesitate to use Ed Gause Construction again in the future.

Ed's crew showed up about a week after that and completed the work in 3 days. Ed and crew were friendly, efficient, and professional. The deck is beautiful and is exactly what I imagined.

 + -1 moreProduct quality and workmanship are excellent. Provided excellent product information from which to make an informed product choice. Workman arrived when promised. Work took longer than anticipated because workers were unable to work more than a few hours each day. Caulking remains to be done because it was too cold and wet to do so at time work was done. Will be contacting to complete this work in the next few weeks when weather improves.

His quote was significantly less than our other bids and I liked that he works with his family. The deck turned out beautifully but I did find several nails that were left behind in our garden bed and in the ground around the deck and there was some trash left behind as well as some deep ruts in the ground.

 + -1 moreEd and his crew did a great job. Very high quality work. His design suggestions were quite helpful. From initial design to the finished deck, everything was impressive. I am very, very glad I went with composite decking instead of cedar. Cedar is good, but I don't want to deal with maintenance down the road. Ed was very helpful explaining the pros and cons of cedar vs. composite. The finished deck exceeded my expectations and will be enjoyed for many years. I think Ed has been building decks since the 70's and his experience really shows. A big, heartfelt thanks to Ed and his crew!

 + -1 moreEd and his helpers were punctual and polite. They used pre stained cedar and railing with spindles. They also suggested the use of composite for the top pieces of the railing and 2 steps (outside the back doorway as well as a step into the yard.) The job was not the cheapest route, but it looks beautiful proving you get what you pay for. Very nice to work with. Thank you, Chuck and Diane

We had three or four different bids and not only he was the least expensive but can do it within the following week (most of them were going to be November or December timeframe.....it is September). He was cordial, responsive, professional and did EVERYTHING he said he was going to do. His crew of two was very professional as well and super pleasant to be around. I would hire him again in a heartbeat. In fact, I'm recommending him to a friend who will be going through the same thing!

We finally chose Ed Gause Construction based on their excellent reviews on Angies List and discussions with other contractors. We were looking for someone trustworthy with integrity to do a high quality job at a fair price. Mr. Gause and his entire crew far surpassed our expectations on all counts, including their skill and hard work. The deck is beautiful, solidly built with attention to the smallest detail. Mr. Gause gave status updates every day. The job was completed on time at the estimated price. We couldn't be happier to offer the highest recommendation without reservation. Description of Work: I needed to have a very small landing and stairs done for my back door. It had previously been just four steps down and didn't have a landing either so always had to step down before stepping back up to open the door. Ed came to my house after talking to him on the phone to see what I needed done. He talked me through the different types of materials, what the cost would be and listened to what I wanted/needed. Once he had the materials, he was back to do the job and did excellent work. I LOVE having a small landing and railing, as my daughter said the old steps were getting dangerous as they were rotting and there was no railing. Ed went over and above my expectations. And his pricing was very reasonable. It's not easy to get someone out to do a "small" job, it seems most want the BIG jobs, so I was so pleased with Ed's willingness.

 + -1 moreGreat - Ed delivered an email quote 5 days after coming by to check out the work. He uses very meticulous, professional, clean cut, and friendly workers (one was his Grandson). Showed up on time, kept to his estimate and took care of some last minute corrections. He also didn't mind expanding the project to include replacement of boards on my porch landing. He made sure I was happy and explained all the material costs, etc. Would definitely work with him again.
