May to August, 2013. That's how long we tried to buy a house listed by Ms. Zebrowski. Turned out it couldn't legally be sold, so was it really for sale? Ms. Zebrowski was MIA throughout almost the entire transaction period. The property she listed for sale turned out to be tied up in an estate in which not one person was qualified to sign papers to sell it. Rather than take the time to touch base with us now and then to explain or update the situation we suffered through, she signed the basic paperwork required and distanced herself. Meanwhile our money sat in escrow, in full, ready to expedite this cash purchase. She did not respond to phone messages or emails sent by our realtor in less than a week, sometimes never, and was consistently "out of the office" on weekends and frequently weekdays as well. We spent $1800 on a very thorough home inspection which turned up the fact the builder had cut some corners, so we got some price adjustment for that. Ours was a cash offer that should have sailed through in this market in the standard two weeks, three at the most. After the first extension our realtor, who was extremely professional and prompt in responding to and anticipating our needs, was left to communicate with the attorney in another part of the state who was handling the estate, otherwise neither she nor we would ever have known what was going on. After ascertaining that none of the heirs could legally qualify as signatories for this transaction, the poor attorney went to court twice, to no avail. Finally at the 3 month mark we pulled the plug as there seemed to be no possibility this property could be sold before comparable homes were all gone. Fortunately we ended up with a lovely house within a week and it only took 2 1/2 weeks to get to signing. As of the first of October that house was still on the market. It's been on the market for over three years so I think there was plenty of time for Ms. Zebrowski to be well versed in what it was going to take to sell it, certainly enough to advise us it might take longer than expected. As to her professionalism, in addition to leaving us and our realtor in the dark, the house was also dirty, had a different floor from that shown in the photos (due to a flooding disaster earlier this year we finally learned about), and had two massive pieces of furniture left behind in one room which she had no interest in disposing of. This in a town where realtors are staging, getting lawns mowed, and otherwise making reasonable efforts to keep property, especially empty property, presentable. At one point during the summer we stopped by and found a notice from the utilities company that they were shutting off the utilities as of the previous week for non-payment. Our realtor had no idea and never got any response about this from Ms. Zebrowski. She definitely let our realtor do all the communications work and left us all scrambling for information as to what the status of this house really was and when it would actually be available to be sold. If not for the estate attorney we would have known nothing at all. We've learned that listing is one thing, actually being for sale is another.
Description of Work: Jo-Ann Zebrowski represented a house for sale that we tried to buy for three months. UPDATE: In November 2013 I saw that someone had moved into this house. A couple weeks later I knocked on their door to congratulate them on getting it and, frankly, to see if anyone there would tell me how they finally managed to buy it. A very nice couple said they had no trouble buying it so I guess the issues with the heirs were finally resolved. However when I mentioned that it was nice they essentially had new floors and base moulding (due to the flooding) they had no idea what I was talking about. In fact they said their Remax realtor, who worked in the same office as listing agent JoAnn Zebrowski, had come to them just a few days after their offer was accepted and handed them a disclosure document that said the history of the house was unknown to her due to the death of the owner and the fact it was an estate sale. She told them they had to sign it so they did, though they thought the way she acted was a bit odd. This is extremely interesting given that Ms. Zebrowski, the listing agent in the same office, knew all about the flooding of the first floor of this house in Feb. 2013 and provided us with an entire notebook full of receipts from the insurer and the various floor replacement, drywall replacement, and mold mitigation companies who fixed all the damage to the tune of over $30k. Of course we only got the info because a neighbor told us about the flooding in the first place. It certainly didn't come from Ms. Zebrowski despite the fact she was the listing agent when the place flooded.

She did no work, so it's impossible to describe what she could have done or should have done.
Description of Work: Avoid this agent. She did no work, refused to represent us to the seller (although she was working for him), and took the commission without a word. She almost lost us the house. We've dealt with some odd agents in the past, but should she expect to receive payment without doing a thing? Not even phone calls to let our agent know nothing was going to happen because she and the seller were unable and unwilling to speak with each other.

Jo-Ann Zebrowski is the best Realtor we have ever worked with! She was very helpful, took the time & effort to make this difficult real estate transaction move forward all the way to completion. After trying to get the Fannie Mae REO Listing Agent, Elliot Bratten of Eugene, OR to answer our questions, and he would not even return our phone calls, we wisely decided to enlist the aid of a Realtor that would work for us. With much effort, Jo-Ann was able to make this dream come true for us.
Description of Work: Realtor led us thru the process of purchasing a Fannie Mae owned, foreclosed, 92 yr old rural property. As the Buyer's Realtor, Jo-Ann Zebrowski took up where we left off, having abandoned any hope of speaking to the Selling Realtor, Elliot Bratten, of Eugene, OR. We had hired an inspector to check out the house, at a cost to us of $475. Only a truly serious potential buyer would have done that. And yet, we NEVER had a chance to speak one word to him. Receptionist said he was on the phone, we left messages on his cell, answering machine. We NEVER got a response from him. At this point I elected to contract with another realtor that would work for me. Jo-Ann put up with the difficulty of working with this less than helpful realtor, found answers herself, took time to round up keys, went above & beyond what was expected. Selling realtor could have had the 6% commission to himself, if he had ever just spoke to me.
