The company trimmed my Butterfly bush so much and at the wrong time of the year that they killed it. I spoke to Ken Glenn personally about this issue and he told me I could pay the balance of what I owed them less $150 to compensate for the loss of the large bush. I paid all I owed but the $150 and was done...so I thought. A year or so later I started to get calls again from Ken's assistant and I explained that I was done paying and why. She said she would ask Ken about it and days later she calls back to tell me he doesn't remember my issue with the Butterfly bush. After a year or more later, I'm not surprised. However, she then told me that they still wanted final payment. I asked for Ken to call me directly and even to come by in person to see the bush skeleton that is still there (even now) that I now use to grow an ivy on, so that maybe he could remember the issue. He didn't bother to call or come by and in the end, they referred me to a collection agency even though I told his assistant I had the call with Ken recorded where he agreed to the discount (I did have it but after not hearing from them for over a year, I deleted it, figuring things were resolved and my business with them was done). I have tried repeatedly to contact Ken directly, leaving messages (those calls I have kept for documentation as well as the calls with the assistant) and he has NEVER called me back and they never reversed the collection action. So I will be filing small claims against them to resolve this. I think it is horrible that companies can come back months, even years later and claim you owe money. I thought because this company was local and smaller, they would have better integrity than larger companies, but I was wrong. I would not recommend this company unless you get EVERYTHING in writing and make sure to watch them while they work. I know they billed for times they didn't stay the full hours that they billed for and I even called Ken Glenn about that issue. Again, no resolve. Having to file this rating here on Angie's list has been one of the ways I can document their bad business practices and my next steps are the BBB and then small claims.
