We were dissatisfied. They used poor quality materials when we paid for the best. The deck floor is replete with knot holes. We had ordered high quality cedar. The deck is 15 inches shorter than it was supposed to be. Fortunately we had photos of what they supposed to copy. They left before everything was finished and we had to hire someone else to complete the job.

Wanted a bid on replacing portion of garden fence and gate. Left two messages. No response in 3 months!! Busyness is understandable, lack of professionalism not.

They did a great job, despite it being more difficult than anticipated and apparently losing money on the job because of the difficulty and a sharp increase in the cost of materials. I was kind of demanding, and they were responsive and did a very professional, solid job. Very highly recommended.

In Mid-July 2016, Black Diamond Fence & Deck built an overlap, capped fence on our property. We couldn’t be more pleased with their work. Jason, Owner of Black Diamond, was very helpful and accommodating to work with. He gave us several options for fencing and gates. We live on a busy corner so we opted for a beautiful cedar fence while giving us the privacy we wanted. Jason’s employees had considerable experience, paid attention to detail, and were great to work with. His crew worked hard and were prompt every day. The existing fence was removed and recycled. Our new fence was built and sprayed with a natural penetrating oil finish. Everything was completed in 4 days! We love the look and preservation of the natural finish and plan to have it re-sprayed in a few years. The integrity shown by Jason and his employees showed. Our fence is well constructed and is absolutely beautiful! Our backyard is enhanced by our gorgeous fence and will be enjoyed for many years to come. We highly recommend this company for their experience and quality work. We will hire them exclusively for any future work we may need. Jason was very professional when he came to meet us, walked around the yard and gave us an estimate. He didn't expect to have our fence built until mid summer, but he was able to schedule the project for May, so we were happy to have it finished before expected. Our yard is a park like setting with many plantings, shrubs, perennials in various beds and along the fence line. The crew was amazingly careful and respectful of the vegetation. I don't know how they managed to do it, but they did not hurt any of the plantings! I was surprised and pleased! the crew was fast and finished the project ahead of time. They cleaned up the area and left the yard tidy. There was one area of the fence we were not pleased with. We called Jason that day and he apologized and said the crew would be back the next day to redo it. They are here now redoing the one area. The crew leader was very apologetic and nice. These are great people and I highly recommend them. We would use them again, definitely.

I had a few bids for approximately 200 feet of wood fencing, and while Black Diamond was slightly higher than another bid, I felt that the level of professionalism and knowledge that Jason possessed was worth the cost. That was in-fact the case! Not only is the material of high quality, but the fence is very strait, sturdy, and looks better than any of the fences in the neighborhood. Jason and his crew were very punctual, efficient, and they didn't leave any mess at all. I picked them because they had terrific reviews, and I am happy I did. I have had similar work done in the past by other outfits, and this was far better! I am looking to put in a wood deck in the summer, and know who I will hire!

Jason was very prompt and communicative. He even rearranged his schedule to get the fence finished ASAP so we could move in with our dog. The fence is stunning, and we've received many compliments on it. He even trimmed the existing fence to match the new fence, so the whole yard looks cohesive. This is the second fence he's built for us; the fence at the previous house was built on a very budget-friendly design, and still looks great 3 years later. The deck was finished in about two weeks overall, and looks beautiful. Jason and his crew were very thoughtful about how to incorporate the new deck with the existing deck, including shoring up the support for the existing deck, which was below the standard of the new deck. We look forward to many years of enjoyment on our new deck. Jason has always been very responsive and available despite his busy schedule. He also gives detailed and complete invoices, which I appreciate, as well as offering several different options during the planning stage to ensure we get what we want for our budget. We will continue to use him and recommend him for any fence or deck work.

excellent job, bit of delay in getting underway due to weather and other jobs. Once underway very prompt daily and kept to anticipated completion. Great clean up. Very happy with our choice.

Jason was very thorough and detailed about the job. He fit me in the schedule earlier that first estimated. The fence looks great.

Met with Jason and made the deal. He is professional and pleasant. We had to wait a bit longer than we would have liked but it was late in the season so I can understand that. Marcus and Dan did a fantastic job on a very large deck and stairs we needed done. Marcus is a perfectionist and their work was worth the wait and money. The deck is beautiful and we are extremely happy. I would recommend them without reservation.

They were higher than the other bids I got and it was not to my satisfaction. They gave me a quote but they did not break it down. They did give me the breakdown for the cost of the materials, labor and etc. That was my disappointment in them.

Jason came out in early May for the initial estimate and provided lots of good information about the potential project and understood all of my needs and wants for the fencing. It was already the busy season so he estimated the project would happen in early August. Work began in mid August and took two full weeks, just slightly more than he originally estimated. The two workers who built all of the fencing, Kevin and Brian, were very pleasant and conscientious throughout the project and did a very good, very professional job. They consulted with me on details throughout the process to be sure they were building to my desired specifications. We are very pleased with the fencing installed - it looks great and no deer have gotten in and the dogs have not gotten out. It was a lot of fencing and while it was fairly expensive we feel it was well worth the cost for the quality and quantity of fencing we had them build.

Beautifully and professionally completed project in South Hills area. Jason, Marcus and Dan are all consummate craftsmen, gentlemen, and businessmen. Job was completed in four days despite the challenging terrain and size of project. Highly recommend Black Diamond Fence & Deck for quality craftsmanship and materials. They lived up to their deserved rating on Angie's List.

Very polite and professional, good quote to replace about 100 foot of fence. Have not yet used as I also need additional landscaping done and plan to do all together. Jason referred a landscaping company whom I will call.

I wanted to get my 21 year old deck renovated to ensure that it was safe and to get the hand railing up to code. Jason provided the bid for the deck renovation. His bid was the middle range of the 4 that I had gotten. I chose Black Diamond because I liked the deck designs that I had seen in pictures on their website. I also liked when Jason told me that he hand picks all of the cedar boards; this made for a beautiful variation in colors. Marcus and Dan arrived as scheduled every day for 2 work weeks. Their craftsmanship was amazing and the results exceeded my expectations. They ensured that my deck was safe. I am so pleased with my gorgeous new deck!

Everything went well. Jason and crew were punctual and efficient. The fence they put up is beautiful. In fact, we have called Jason back for an estimate to replace the other portion of our yard fence, and he will be doing that this summer.

Jason was great to work with. I asked for a bid that broke down the fence estimate so that we could decide just how much work we could afford to do. That was really helpful to us and will allow us to budget for the next phase of work needed since we could not afford to do all four sides of the yard at once but just focused on the south fence line that was the most compromised. Even though it made for a very long day, Jason arranged for it all to be done at one time since it was a bit of a drive to get to our place and because our neighbor had a cow and calf on their side of the fence. We had an electric wire set up but they were quite curious and if the fence had remained down overnight we might have had cows in our backyard. There were several special specifications for our job: To start off, there was low clearance to the backyard area and, even with trimming up the trees, I was worried about Black Diamond being able to back up their cargo trailer to the gate. Jason brought a lower profile trailer for our job, even though it required a second trip to handle the tear-down material and equipment. There was about a 12' section which was now under a lean-to roof which was put up after the initial fence was built. This made it impossible to access that part of the fence to attach the fence boards. We decided to reverse the boards on that section which was a great creative way to not cost us extra money dealing with the lean-to. The fence was located right under a line of apple and pear trees that were in full bloom and that hung just about at the same height as the top of the fence. The workers managed to duck under all those branches in getting the boards up and to their credit, most of the blooms stayed on! Because we have had problems with dogs digging under the fence and undermining its footings Jason suggested adding a 2x6 pressure treated kick-board across the bottom flush with the neighbors side of the fence. (The ground level between our properties has about a 6" difference.) Bottom line ~ we had two other people (freelance handyman-type workers) give us quotes on the work thinking that's all we could afford but Jason's bid was actually lower and I trusted he knew what he was doing. Even though we went with the least expensive materials and the least expensive part of the fence to replace, Jason gave us first class service. Very appreciative and very impressed. We will definitely have them back.

Jason, owner of Black Diamond, is exactly what you want in any contractor - he is professional, punctual and knowledgeable. He was right on time for his estimate appointment, and his crew always showed up on the days they were scheduled to work. The location for this job was challenging as it is on a hillside and the soil is VERY rocky, but his crew dug the post holes without a problem. The quality of the work is excellent and I would not hesitate to use them again.

The work cost was shared between me and a neighbor. The crew was unresponsive to me and the work was not done in a timely manner. The fencing was overall done professionally and looks very good. However, I have a small dog that weighs approx. 10 lbs and the work was completed the the fence bottom 5 to 6 inches up from the ground level in about 1/2 of the area. Also, one 5 foot section of fencing surrounding my well was not built with the same quality material as the rest of the job.

He seemed very interested in the job, and then never followed up or submitted an estimate. I hired a more reliable and responsive contractor for the job.

Jason was on time for both the estimate meeting, and the day the work was scheduled. His estimate met my needs, and was fair for the work requested. Even though my request was in the height of the summer busy season, he was able to schedule the project in a reasonable time frame due to the small scale of the project. The work was actually completed ahead of schedule, and was very professional, and looked better than I expected.

I was very pleased. They communicated often and kept me in loop. I watched the work and they were really into detail and cared about the job.

Everything was removed and completely cleaned up. Jason was here on the date and time that he stated and it was completed as stated.

They were very good. We were very happy with the crew and the owner. The price was also very competitive. I would highly recommend them.
