Response from Spring Air Inc
I am very sad to hear we received a C report on this call. We were very clear about the choices that were available to receive an estimate. Here is a copy of the first email that was sent to the customer. We had also sent a second email with no response. There are two different ways we can go about this. One is a free estimate, where you and I go through the home, see the unique challenges and opportunities that your home presents to heating and cooling, and with a little guess work, put together a proposal on a basic heating system. The other way to go is by testing your home. Finding out the exact amount of home air leakage, look at the home room by room and decide how best to heat your home. We use an infrared camera to determine any challenges in insulation of walls, floors, or ceiling, and perform an ACCA Manual J load calculation on your home (recommended by every manufacturer). I have included a link to a Comfort Institute video that talks a little more about the home testing process. The EPA and Berkeley laboratories recommend testing a home to find the hidden issues and problems with home. We have found it to help with allergies, dust, pollen, hot and/or cold rooms, hot and/or cold stories of homes, and humidity concerns. Further more, being built in 1968 means that the code when your home was built is a different than today’s codes as far as windows, doors, insulation and general construction practices. Testing your home will help spot the areas where you can upgrade your home into the 21st century. Go to our website. The video is on the lower right hand side of this page. Just click on the “problem solving testing” link. I know that you don’t have ducts to test yet…but you will want the new duct system to be completely sealed and tested, otherwise you may be inviting some of these concerns in down the road!! Call or email me with any questions or comments. I look forward to speaking with you and providing you with some solutions for your heating wants and needs!!
