These guys are awesome. The initial movers (Sams Moving) showed up and left during the first hour with no intention of completing the contract. Then Back Savers sent two gentlemen, who came after they finished a job they were on, and they worked so hard, in the pouring rain to load then unload our stuff. They saved my life and my back. My husband is a disabled vet and the move rested solely on my shoulders. I am eternally grateful to this company for the hard work, great work ethic, professionalism and will recommend them to anyone who expects a great job for a great price.

Very well.....organized, without incident and everything exactly where I needed it to go.
Description of Work: The movers were on time and respectful, listening to what I needed done and in what order it needed to happen. They first helped dismantle the upper bars of a professional treadmill in order to move it to a new location with the other workout equipment in my garage....this went without a hitch...they came with tools and were careful. Next, they had to unload and move two 6' bookcases to a wall in the frontroom. Taking the books off and returning them to their right order. Then they had to dismantle and move a queen size futon in the home office along the wall where the bookcases were. Took just a bit over two hours. Excellent job!

So Blaise and Tyler were awesome, they showed up exactly on time and were both professional and friendly. They were careful with my belongings, organized with the items loaded in the truck and nothing was damaged or broken. Even though I didn't have a very large move it went very smooth and both were always asking me if I wanted an item moved in any particular area. They even helped me assemble my bedroom furniture. Great job! I used Backsavers once prior in May when I moved from AZ to OR, they unloaded my Uhaul trailer, again that experience was as good as this one. I would recommend them over and over. When Backsavers showed up at our house, my husband showed them ONE room that was still in the process of being packed. The gentlemen from Backsavers stated: " We need to get more equipment." They then got in their truck and drove off. TWO hours later, my husband calls them to find out what was going on. They stated that they were not allowed to work around unpacked items and dirty rusted tools. If they had told us that at the time, we would have directed them to another two rooms filled with already packed boxes. To just get in their truck and leave shows a complete lack of maturity and professionalism.

Dear customer, We apologize for the movers having to leave. They were on their way to get gloves and sanitary supplies but when they describe the workplace we told them to head home. Unfortunately we do not work with rusty tools. There were three sheds full of unpacked rusty tools and wires everywhere. One of our movers was also starting to get nauseous because there was rotten food and a bad smell. When we talked to the customer and explained this they were clearly unhappy but unfortunately when it comes to the health and safety of our movers we had to make the right decision. We did get a bad review here but our movers didn't move move single item. We feel that this review is unfair and not completely accurate. Once again we do apologize and we hope that your move went well.

Cost-wise, they came out to about what it normally comes out to moving and so forth. In the end I found out that it cost $30 for an additional hour, this or that. They should have mentioned those fees upfront instead of telling me that I have additional fee here and there. I give them a good rating. It's just on the price probably a B because I didn't know about additional things.

-Rescheduled the date, with no offer of compensation -Movers were 2 hours late on the rescheduled date -Movers showed up looking completely unprofessional -Of the two, only one moved at an acceptable pace -The slowest mover wasted hours packing the truck in a manner that was unnecessary -When I tried communicating my concern with the length of time it was taking, I was brushed off -Movers unprofessionally tried purchasing my belongings from me -At the end of the move from h***, which took twice as long as it should have, the owner would not compensate for any of our serious complaints. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy!
Description of Work: Hiring BackSavers was suppose to make our move easier and less stressful. It did the opposite. Worst experience with a company in my whole life. DO NOT USE!

Thank you for your business! This following information is inaccurate. We did give her a discount for the 2nd day. The customer expected our movers to sprint up and down 3 flights of stairs with heavy furniture. We are trained to move at a safe pace while operating on stairs for the health of our movers and your furniture. (No furniture was damaged) Customer was very unorganized which made it take longer. The customer had moved many times before and constantly tried doing our job for us. We are very sorry for being late the 2nd day as we had an emergency with one of our movers. We are very professional, friendly, careful, and we work very hard. Sometimes that's not enough!

I hired two movers from Back Savers and they ended up being 45-50 minutes late. First appearance the guys did not look professional at all. I understand that as a mover you should wear what's comfortable but they both looked and smelled like their clothes had not been washed in weeks. It was hard to carry stuff behind them due to the odder trail, let alone be in the same room with them. Though I was very put off by the appearance and hygiene, the guys we extremely nice guys and very helpful. One of them moved at a much faster pace than the other and was more eager to get the job done which was nice. What was not nice was my bookshelf and recliner being punctured and scratched, respectively. The book case was to the point were the backing was hanging off and the puncture hole is about the size of a can of soda. The recliner was scratched along the front edges to the point of the leather rubbing off and exposing the under material. We noticed the damage on the bookshelf right away when they were unloading and we were told to contact their boss, or whoever I paid because they weren't sure who I went through and who they were working for exactly. I did not get to call about the damage until a couple weeks later due to being very busy with work and getting settled in. The guy I spoke to at Back Savers let me know that I had to report it within in two days or there was nothing he would do to right the wrong. I assured him that no one ever told me about the two day rule, not even his movers who I pointed out the damage to. He said he would speak to his boss and see what he can do and give me a call back. Needless to say I never received a call. I will never go through Back Savers again and I will do my best to make sure no one else I know does either. Due to being late and damage of property, there is no way the service I received was worth what I paid for it.

Dear customer, We are greatly sorry for the damaged furniture! We actually give you 24 hours to report any damages. We have this rule because certain people will damage this furniture after we have left the job and then call back and claim it was us. We then had to pay for it. The reasons the movers were late and not in uniform was because our other guys who were supposed to be there had called in sick from food poisoning. We wanted to get you help as soon as possible. Being late and smelling bad is not who we are and we would like to compensate you! We did try to contact you but it went straight to voicemail. Throughout the move, the Movers were extremely professional and for the most part treated furniture with care. They worked very quickly to load my truck and equally as fast to unload my truck at the new home. Very helpful and saved me time and money. The problems began that night when I noticed scratches on the top of my fine furniture. Upon further investigation, the scratches and gouges were similar on all 4 pieces of furniture. By reasonable deduction, I gathered that it was probably from repeated action, something like moving with a hand truck, since they were all moved with a hand truck. The furniture was not scratched like this prior to the move. I called the owner, Josh (a 25 year old naive kid) as soon as I had time the next day. At that point I was informed that they have a 24 hr notification policy and that I was 5 minutes past the deadline. WHAT? REALLY? First I was never notified of said notification period, and second, that's a pretty poor way to retain customers. Why would I wait until 5 minutes past the deadline if I had known? After a lengthy argument about all this, during which Josh minimized my concerns by telling me the scratches were just minor, and not uncommon during moving, Josh said "he gets calls like this all the time. People wanting to get their money back, scamming his company". So, it's obvious my interests are not his interests if he immediately assumes the customer is out to get him. He told me he talked to the movers and they said they didn't damage the furniture. Well of course they said that! Why would they start a claim over something minor- it's not like they broke the furniture in half, right? Josh's solution was to offer me $100 to go away. The furniture cost over $2000 new and would cost more than $100 to fix properly. Eventually I got Josh to agree to call reputable furniture repair professionals in the Portland area, to get quotes to repair my furniture. After several days of "no response" from the two companies, Josh offered me $175 to go away. Just because I didn't trust him, I called one of the places. The owner of that place said he did, in fact, send Josh a quote and told me it would be $500-1200 to fix the furniture correctly. When I asked Josh if he had heard from any of the furniture repair companies, he said no. So, he was lying to me and trying to pay less money to get me to go away. So then he balked again and said "that guy is way over priced." Incidentally I got a second quote which was very similar to the first. But Josh still thought he could get some furniture repair guy to "just buff it out". Now, it's fine furniture, not a car. You can't just buff out gouges and match stain simply. It takes some finesse. So josh obviously doesn't know what he is talking about, but if someone will let him, he"'ll pull the wool over their eyes. In the end, he paid me to go away. $400, and made me post a good review on Angieslist in order to receive it. I have all the emails to prove it. The emails state how he "technically doesn't owe me anything because I was 5 minutes past the 24 hr window"' and how "he can't afford another negative review on Angieslist, so he hopes I rate him at least a B". However, I'm an honest person and I just couldn't leave the positive post up there. I don't want others to go through what I went through. That's the purpose of Angie's list anyway. The guys that moved me were pretty good guys, and helped me out a lot. The price was right too but not worth all the headache that followed. Dealing with Josh and trying to get him to listen to me caused a lot of stress at a time when I didn't need it. I would not recommend going through Backsaversmoving to hire moving help. Updated 7/6/2015 - There seems to always be an excuse from this company why nothing is their fault. Read the reviews and responses from the owner, and then decide if you want to take the risk. Note that they don't work in Portland any longer - too many bad reviews??

Dear customer, we are greatly sorry for the sctahces on your furniture. We do give customers 24 hours report any damages. We have this policy to protect us from certain people who might damage their furniture while moving it and claim that it was us. This has happened many times and we had to pay for it. In this certain claim the customer had stated that his furniture was scratched up already. We were trying to figure out which scratches were the ones that's we had caused. The customer wanted to get this matter resolved right away and asked for $250 and we would call it good. When we told him we could not do that he got irritated. We told him we would take care of it and asked him to sed us pictures of the damages that we caused. When the customer sent us pictures we immediately called a wood repair guy and emailed him the pictures. The customer called and asked if we had heard from them. We had not checked our email that morning yet so we said no. When we got the quote of 1,200 dollars we wanted to find a different quote but the customer got irritated again so we offered him $400 dollars for the sctches and to not slam our company on Angies list. At this point we could tell the customer was very upset. There was arguing going on. We were trying our best to take care of this matter in a timely fashion for the customer. In fact, it only took us ten days to get this resolved. Most claims can take up to a month. We feel like we would have gotten a better review if we would have just sent him the $250 dollars he asked for the day after the job. Unfortunately we had to follow our policy on claims. We do apologize to the customer and we will try our best to not let this happen again. We are hard working and honest and we hope you read this review with a grain of salt!

1- The initial contact was a person on the phone who did not even know where West Linn was located - this was not reassuring. Although they listed Clackamas County as one of their areas they covered. We had to provide our own truck and blankets. They moved about 1/3rd of our things . 2- The day of the move 2 movers arrived a ½ hour after their scheduled arrival. They came up to West Linn from Salem. Which is one of their main areas they cover. One mover had been obviously been moving x years. he was strong, careful and directed the move process very professionally. Unfortunately he was saddled with a helper that struggled, swore and was unprofessional. I watched a number of things move and the young man did not lift correctly, did not hold up his end well, and was much less careful. The younger man gouged two of our walls and left a small floor scratch on the hardwoods. I felt sorry for the other professional who had work with this younger man. 3- All in all , I really appreciated their help. would hire the one professional mover again.

The move was great. However, one of the movers was called to fire service and he had to find someone who could fill in. The one mover worked by himself for nearly 90 minutes until the replacement could arrive.He did great! I do, however, feel the management could have done a better job. There should have been substitutes already to fill in at a moments notice. The one mover we had at first had not been contacted until the night before even though I had booked the service on 8/8. I expect better organization and performance.

Very accommodating and professional crew. Especially happy they were able to provide this service for me on Friday rather than the following Monday when their schedule was lighter. 8' x 4' HEAVY mostly glass curio cabinet and antique oriental desk moved with Great care. Would highly recommend!

We had a great experience with Back Savers! We needed to unload, reorganize, and reload a main storage unit; and put some items in a secondary unit on-site. We contacted the agency Thursday, for some last minute help on Friday if available. We were quickly set up with a time to work Friday afternoon as requested. Before our appointed meeting time, we were informed that our movers were slightly delayed in leaving their prior job, so were running a few minutes late. This was not a problem for us, as we were running a bit late as well, so we were happy to meet a few minutes later. eOur movers Justin and James still arrived early, and were professional and courteous. The minimum time commitment was for two hours, which we had guessed was about what we would need for our job. The guys quickly got to work, addressing us politely when asking questions or for direction (often addressing me as ma'am, which is a rare and welcome change these days!) They emptied our main unit quickly but safely and efficiently; and moved items to our secondary unit as needed. Some items to move were heavier than i could easily manage - such as power tools - but they moved them back and forth with ease when I chose not to. Our unit was reorganized and repacked with ease (on our part) and ahead of schedule by about 20 minutes. I wished we had done this months ago. We are extremely happy to have found Back Savers, and will definitely keep the crew in mind when we can actually move out of our storage units and into our house later this year. THANK YOU Back Savers!!
