+ -1 moreIt went well. The company and installers worked with our schedule and around our business activity. For a reasonable extra fee, the installers also moved the heavy stuff: desks, filing cabinets, etc. They also repaired an existing seam in a carpet that was not being replaced, for an additional reasonable fee.
Description of Work: They won the bid, although not the lowest, but competitive. Removed old carpeting and pad, and carted it off. Installed new pad and carpeting on two floors.

+ 0 moreWe checked several outlets for carpets and vinyl sales and installation. We were surprised to find JTE Floor Coverings in Independence, a very small town within an easy drive from my home in Salem, Oregon. It's a "mom and pop" store owned by Ken Taylor. My first time in the small shop, I met Ken's father who started the business but is now retired. My wife and I soon struck a deal for 1100 square feet with an 8# carpet pad plus 60 square feet of vinyl with Ken. But the best part was the speed and professionalism of the installation. The whole process took three days and was divided between one day of vinyl installation in the bathrooms and two days for installation of the carpet. Half the installation of the carpet was done on a Friday with the rest of the installation completed on Monday leaving me ample time to move furniture. I was especially impressed with Mitch Miller (yes, that is his real name!) who installed the carpet. This guy works alone and he knows what he is doing after 20 some years of installing carpet. My wife and I are very pleased with the carpet and vinyl. The price was really good, too! I know because I did some serious research. We have absolutely no complaints. Thanks, Ken.

+ -1 moreEverything they did was first class. In the kitchen they took out the old floor. Where there were dips in the floor they leveled it off. They completed underneath all the appliances. They finished the floor with trim as well even back behind the appliances. The installers take a lot of pride in their work. If ever done flooring done I will call them to do it.
Description of Work: They laid laminate flooring up and down the stairs. They had to redo the railing as well. The laminate ties in with the landing and living room. They also laid vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom.
