It went well. Jayson, the owner, is very professional. He works on a time and materials basis and is very upfront about the vagaries of wallpaper removal. When he gives the initial estimate, I think he estimates based on a worst case scenario, so the client isn't surprised with a higher bill. The company has a person who answers the phone and deals with questions on a very timely basis. I wish all contractors were as easy to reach. The painter was very courteous and conscientious about keeping his shoes covered and cleaning up. He did a good job; the walls look great. There were a few small details like paint splatter and very small pieces of wallpaper that he missed in a couple of places around fixtures. Overall, a good experience.

The painting work itself is beautiful, very professionally done, and I am quite pleased with the final result. My complaint concerns Majik Painting's business practices, specifically the inaccurate (low) estimate I was given and the use of the term "time and materials" to cover more than $1100 worth of extra work.. The paint work, not including my Angle's "Big Deal", was estimated at roughly $2000 after Angie's List discounts were applied. I was told that if additional work was needed it would be billed at $35/hour for "time and materials". The fact that it added up to 28 extra hours wasn't mentioned. When the work was complete, I was presented a bill for $3101, roughly a third higher than the estimated price. I was never warned during the job that the cost was increasing considerably. The owner is an experienced estimator, and I believe he knew when he examined the area that it would cost well over his estimate, but he said nothing about that. We exchanged several e-mails after the job, and he stated in the last one that he expected it to run higher, but "didn't want to scare me". I see that as an ethical problem. I told the owner that if the additional work and cost had been better explained I probably would have approved them. At the very least, I would have known that the e much bigger bill was coming.

It took about three to four weeks from the acceptance of the bid until the day they started the work. I had inferred, from what I was told, that work would start the week following acceptance of the bid. They were not as prompt as they could have been in showing up once the job got started. They were usually 30 to 45 minutes late. They covered everything accept the smoke detector, which is connected to our monitored alarm system, so when they started to spray on the texture the smoke alarm went off. We called the alarm company and we were told that the smoke detector probably have to be replaced, which it did. This cost close to $200 and Majic Painting took no responsibility in the matter.

This project took three days to complete with two guys. I thought they did a spectacular job! I've had friends that had their kitchen cabinets painted and thought mine looked more uniform and smoother. Painting kitchen cabinets can be tricky and require multiple paint application and sanding. It can also get very messy. Majic Painting sealed off my kitchen and kept the mess at a minimum. They've done kitchen cabinets many times before and would recommend using them to friends.

Getting our schedules to mesh took a bit of doing, but everything went very well. The painter showed up as scheduled and went right to work. I had removed small pieces of furniture and wall decor so the could concentrate on painting the room. The painter checked with me after the initial coat was applied in a small area to make sure I was happy with the color and the coverage. It was great, so he continued and finished the room in just under 3 hours. He was very well organized in clearing up his equipment. I am very pleased with the result

Went great. It only took the painter about an hour to complete, when I thought the 3 hours I bought might not be enough time. Only issue I had was with the estimator. Even after I sent dimensions & photos prior to the job, he quoted me for "extra time" due to its being a 2-story wall and them having to send 2 people. When I wouldn't agree to that (I could paint the lower half; it was just the higher section near the ceiling I couldn't reach), he removed that from the bid. My son was here when the painter did the work -- it took 1 painter (not 2) less than 1 hour to complete the work (my coupon was for 3 hours). The edge by the ceiling looks great. I had to re-touch a little bit of the edging next to some door frames to even out a "crooked" edging, but overall I'm VERY happy with the job. Just be careful that they don't try to "over-bid" or over-charge.

Jayson and his crew were great. I added a couple items to the original list (painting of doors) and they made the changes without any problem. Jayson responded to all questions and concerns I had via e-mail and made sure the work was done the way I wanted it to be. The crew was quick to touch up the needed areas Jayson and I saw during the final walk through. His bid was below the others I received and I felt that the customer service was what I was looking for when Jayson came to do the initial walk through. I will use Majic Paining in the future and would highly recommend them.

I am very pleased with the services of Majic Painting and would definitely use them in the future. They were very easy to work with. They went above and beyond my expectations and they were always flexible and willing to ensure that the job would not be complete until we were happy with the work they were providing. I felt the price was very reasonable and fair and they actually came in slightly under what we were quoted. Definitely a plus.

I had a coupon for an Angie's List deal that had actually expired, but they were very open to extending the deal until a date more convenient for me and them. The painter arrived on time and finished the job earlier than I had anticipated. The process was very easy. It was a good value for the cost.

They were slow to get back to me to schedule the big deal. They requested photos of the 7" hole in my kitchen ceiling and wanted photos of the entire kitchen. Said there were going to be extra charges. Last dry wall person was able to fix about eight areas in three hours easy with no extra charges.

We had gone through about 5 estimates on exterior paint before we met with Jayson. Talk about a breath of fresh air. Who knew you could have work done on your house and not feel like you're getting taken advantage of. He was amazing from start to finish. Friendly, available, helpful - you name it. We ran into some horrible weather but his team was available at the first sign of dryer weather and was able to get our house done in record time. Jayson worked with us on price, paint selection, scheduling and walked us through getting answers to all of our inquiries. We are already talking about future work with Jayson. We would recommend Majic to anyone wanting high quality work done by a high quality guy.

I rate this company an A +. I bought eight hours of interior painting for $320 through Angies List. They painted two large rooms and were honest about the labor, bringing the total tab to around $600 for them to paint the whole downstairs of my house. They did an excellent job. They showed up when they said they would and left zero mess. I value the deal and honesty above all else, but they did an incredible job on top of this. I have some wallpaper I need removed and plan to use this company for that process and the cleanup and painting after when we're ready to do the upstairs.

The job went well after a somewhat shaky start. Majic Painting sent one very experienced and very efficient painter and an apprentice to do the work. Dave was the head painter and responsible for the final product which despite several twists with the apprentice, turned out well in the end. My main problem was with the owner, Jayson, who was never at the jobsite after me signing the contract and in fact wasn't even there for the signing. He had Dave bring the contract out before commencing the main part of the job. The scope of the job changed in between the initial proposal and the final one and important information was left out of the final draft yet the overall price remained the same. I was always supposed to have the kitchen island painted and it was included in the first two proposals. Jayson removed it without my permission and knowledge. Shame on me for not proof reading the final contract but with the overall price the same I simply assumed that everything else was the same.That being said, Majic Painting was the lowest bid by far and Dave turned out to be the hero correcting the apprentices mistakes while assuring me that everything would turn out fine in the end, which it did. The only regret I have is that the lack of communication simply was not there and had I examined the final contract closely I would have made sure or questioned the missing kitchen island.

it was a great experience from start to finish with Majic Painting. the men painted beautifully, they cleaned up perfectly and they came when they said and did the job exactly as we talked about.

Jayson did a terrific job in explaining what we needed. Instead of focusing on margin, he truly focused on customer service throughout our arrangement. We were not happy with the prior color from a past paint job, but because it was recent enough, Jayson determined that it just needed a color change. This saved us a substantial amount of money, and for a good price we were able to change the color of our house to suit our needs. On the day of painting, his crew arrived on time, and went right to work. Dave and Ishmael were a great team, and made great use of their time. They were careful, yet efficient with the prep work, and Dave was an expert with the sprayer. He used cardboard to block spray from hitting the foundation and vent wells, and put on an solid coat for us. The crew cleaned everything up, and even gave us some tips for a few interior paint projects we were planning. Jayson was very kind throughout the process, and handled the transaction very professionally. He seemed to be extremely knowledgable about the world of paint, and we would not hesitate to call him again if we need ANY kind of interior/exterior paint job. We both highly recommend him and his crew. Thank you, Jayson!

Jayson and his crew, Jesus and Roger, were great. They responded quickly to our request for a quote and the estimate was very reasonable for the work that we wanted done. The front room of our home has a vaulted ceiling with an exposed beam that needed to be stained. Jesus and Roger got the job done in the timeframe discussed and it looks really great. Jayson was professional and friendly. He also gave us a couple business cards which described the backgrounds of Jesus and Roger - we thought it was a really nice touch. We would definitely use the company again for any painting job.

We have not as yet hired a painter. This estimate was substantially more that one other contractor. A third is being consulted later this week.
