Evergreen Fence & Deck

From the initial estimate to the finished fence this went very well. My entire back fence needed to be replaced and I wanted auto close on the gates. During the walk down, it was acknowledged that I had metal posts that could be reused and that some of them did need to be reset. I was quoted 3 days for the replacement. On the first day they got the old fence down and had all the rails up for the new fence and had started putting up the boards. When I got home the second day, the fence was complete. My neighbors were impressed with the speed and quality. The estimate was right on. I had a problem with the auto-close on one of the gates about a week later and they came out and fixed it.

It was a very busy time for the company due to all the storm damage, but the owner came out to our home within a few days, after hours, to accommodate our work schedule to inspect the damaged fence and property. He was very personable and carefully examined the fence and damage and went over multiple options with us and his recommendations. There were a few areas that didn’t need replacing and he did not try to oversell and was willing to work with us. We told him we wanted the fence done the right way and wanted it to be sturdy and last as long as possible. He took his time with us, sent us a bid promptly by email and answered all of our questions. There was some question as to the property line and Dick came out again so he could be here when the surveyor came. We made a couple changes to the scope of work and he came and met its us again to go over everything. We had also gotten an estimate from another company but they seemed impersonal, didn’t follow through with questions asked and oversold what needed to be done. The crew came out on time, were friendly but professional and easy to have around. If there were any problems or questions the owner, Dick, was very responsive and made sure everything was done right . We are very happy with our fence and would definitely hire them again

this is a large box that was in the yard when I bought the home. The box is 36 inches tall. The fixture is sturdy not, the workers were polite, but the post are different heights. Vary up to 6 inch difference

I had scheduled a time with them to come out to assess and discuss the work. They never showed up. I sent many messages and called on the day of and never heard back. I sent many messages and called the days after. It's 4 days later and still haven't received a response from anyone. Don't use these folks!

End result is good. I had to call Dick, the owner, several times because the installer was reluctant to do what I asked ( moving a little dirt off the fence course, special treatment around trees, plumbing posts)?. The fencing materials are good quality.

It went very smoothly and quickly. Kyle, the fence builder was outstanding, very professional, efficient and easy to work with.

I had a fairly straightforward job involving some fence repair that also included the replacement of 2 posts with the new ones. The posts that were installed did not look new to me at all - they were chipping at the edges, had what looked like preferential weather related discocloration in some areas and in general just looked older as compared to the posts I have seen for new fences including my own in another area. I am including the pictures for these posts so you can decide on your own if they look any newer than the adjacent old fence. I talked to them about this but the owner guaranteed me that they they were new and also went on to the extent of saying that he has never been dishonest etc in all his professional life. Once they blamed me for trying to raise this issue to get some discount on the completed job, I made the full payment and decided to move on. If the posts they installed were really new then they need to take better care of their wood so that it does not look dated and old at least at the time it is installed. I would not use their services in future.

He later emailed me an offer to replace the roof at my cost and made no further attempt to correct their damage. I am asking Angie's List to help me recoup the cost that I paid to them so I can put that toward a new roof with a different company. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Very professional, punctual and offered alternatives to repair a few posts that had gone bad. Very satisfied.

Dick showed up when he said he would and offered a competitive quote for the job. On the day he said he would do the work, he had his crew out. They were professional, courteous and did a great job all in one day. We are happy with the fence and feel it is a quality job. Would definitely hire again!

They arrived 10 minutes early and finished by 4 in the afternoon. The installers were personable and friendly and performed with complete professionalism.

I met with Dick and my husband. Dick was really helpful in getting a good design for the side yard gates that was unique and super attractive. We showed him a few picture ideas and he made great suggestions. Both husband and wife were happy with the result :) He sent the invoice via email so we could review and when we said we wanted to start right away he set a date for us. We had three bids and Dick's was the middle bid. I had a preference for his approach to begin with but it sealed the deal that he was the middle. The gates took a day to two longer to install, there was rain and a slow delivery of materials but I was contacted each time and given the reason. I loved the fact that the communication stayed wide open for the entire time. I've been in this situation where I have to call the vendor to find out why work wasn't completed on a given day. That was never an issue with Evergreen. I always knew when and where and why! The gates are perfect! We had an HOA requirement of white vinyl privacy fence and these are white vinyl and afford us privacy, but they do not look like an avalanche (large white pile of vinyl). They are a major enhancement to the house and yard. I would work with Dick at Evergreen Fencing again anytime.

What a great experience. Chris came out the same day and gave us a quote on the spot. They were very reasonably priced. Two days later they replaced the fence and completed the job in one day. Chris called while his crew was removing the old fence and installing the new to check-in with us. We highly recommend Evergreen Fence and Deck!

The crew arrived as arranged on June 30. The estimated time for the job was to go until July 3rd. They were very courteous and professional about the tear down and construction. They had the whole back area of fence completed the first day and returned the next two days to complete the sides and the gate. They were done by July 2nd, a day earlier than arranged for. The fence is exactly what I wanted and looks very nice. When they finished, the yard was completely cleaned up with no mess left behind. I am very pleased with the result and would highly recommend them for fencing projects.

We have a great experience working with Evergreen fence and deck. They did an excellent job on our gates. Great attention to detail, workmanship and responsiveness. Dick came out to give us a quote for the job within a day. His quote was very competitive. He's very knowledgeable and honest. We planned to move one old garden gate toward the front of the house and have an additional gate made and install on the other side of the house as well. We noticed that small section of our fence is leaning so we asked Dick's opinion on it. To our surprise after he inspected the fence, he said he'd be happy to do it but it was an easy fix that we could do it ourselves if we want to save money. We said we'd love to do it ourselves so he gave us detail instruction of what we should do. That's what you call honest! Dick sent in the bid the next day and it was the most competitive bid we got for this job. And on top of that when we asked if we could use the 5% off from Angie's list, he said yes. We schedule the work day and the crew showed up on time and ready to work. The two guys crew were very nice and attentive. They listened to how we want the gate installed. We told them we'd like the new gate and old gate to match (in gate style and decorated arbor) and wanted little gap between board as possible for privacy. They made sure the post in location where we wanted and went over all the details to confirm before starting the job. Dick's son even found the decorated part to make the new arbor to match our old one from 10 years ago. The crew worked very hard all day and walked through the whole area with us when finished to make sure everything was right. They did an amazing job. They even took time to saw the board to shape to our house siding to make sure they was as little gap as possible so no one can look through. And before they left they gave us some tips of how to maintain the gates. They also did great job cleaning up (no surprise screw or little piece of wood left behind). We'd use this company again in any fence & deck project. They're honest, responsive, fair price and do great work. Good people.

Dick showed up same day to quote the job. I had the quote in my email the next morning. We had other bids and dollarwise they were similar. We chose Evergreen fence b/c the bid included moving any of the dirt around the new fence. I had a veggie bed next to the side fence and the other contractor said I would have to remove it. Also Dick mentioned they would need a days lead time to get utilities located. The other contractor was going to start immediately with no mention of locating utilities. I felt that was an important first step. Another reason we chose Evergreen is because they altered the existing chainlink gate with angled reinforcements. The chain link sliding gate is much lighter than a dual wooden slide gate. The two men who arrived on day one were very professional and got to work right away. The old posts didn't need to be dug up b/c the old posts were rotted. The steel posts were offset for the new fencing. They used an additive to the concrete so the posts were set up quickly. Two other men showed up to haul away the old panels. The welder wasn't available the first day but the gate was ready to install on day two. At least 1/2 of the fence was done the first day. One of the old panels was used to enclose our yard overnight. Day two they arrived at about 10 am and we discussed a few minor modifications. By 3pm we had our new fence and sliding gate. The gate was so light I could move it with one finger. : ) It was a few other little things that made me glad I chose Evergreen fencing. Not only did they work around the veggie bed and make the gate very light and free moving, but they even moved the trashed concrete someone left in the back alley so our gate wouldn't run into it. Also I really liked the way the side fence was "stepped" so as to preserve the boards from touching the dirt. The side fence was extended just about 1/2 foot longer than it was before to totally enclose the back, then just a small notch was cut out to access the latch. They were short one steel post on the side to close the gap but sure enough if was there when I got home from work the next day just as promised. In all a very good experience. I trust this fence/gate will last a very long time. Now we may even use the back alley access since the gate is so easy to move now. Thank you.

I called Reliable Fence and waited 16 days for them to call me to arrange for an estimate. I gave up on them and called Evergreen Fence and Deck. The owner came out the next day, gave me a reasonable estimate and arranged for his crew to come in three days. The crew came, restored the fence very well plus braced it against future falls. UnReliable never called,

I was quite pleased to be working with Chris from Evergreen. His responsiveness and attention to detail were outstanding. I am happy with the fence and gates as installed. I appreciated the information that Chris gave me concerning what the work would entail and why they complete the work the way they did. The cost was a little more than I was expecting to pay, but the end quality of the work was worth it.

Two workers started by jackhammer replacement of 3 posts and then re-plumb of the other 5 posts. They worked very hard from start to finish. All work was completed in one day. The old cedar top cap was removed and I had purchased twenty-four cedar 2x4x8 from Evergreen to finish the top in the future. I was very happy with the finished result. At completion the area was clean and looked great.

Persons came on time, completed work and cleaned up after the work was completed.
